Why does Star Wars always have to end this way?
I mean, most of us still dig RotJ, but can’t deny that aspects were rushed & the film is hurt because of it.
RotS is an obvious rushed attempt to cram in what should’a been spread across all 3 films.
The PT & ST’s both should’a had a much better plan laid out before film rolled. Why fly by the seat of yer pants with such a HUGE franchise? Why not take comfort in knowing you have a solid plan before going into production?

They look great in the movie, but I actually wish they weren’t in R1. My headcanon has always been that many systems joined the Rebellion after ANH, emboldened buy the destruction of the Death Star.
I wish R1 reflected the Rebel Alliance of ANH instead of RotJ.
But, damn the MonCal looked awesome.

The only thing I don’t like is the language he speaks. No way they could make that gaping mouth make those vowel sounds & have it sync together. They should’a made his language more frog-like so his mouth could do what it does & the sounds would look believable.
I’d rather them make new movies and shows than make none at all.

It does seem weird, though, that she doesn’t know Han is in charge of the Endor mission until it’s mentioned in the briefing.
Not every member of the military, ranking or not, knows the doings of the entire operation.
Han was keeping it from her because he knew she’d be upset & worried. This is before Han forgets that they’re in love. That stupidity happens later in the film.
I think if they felt Palpatine had to return in some form, I would’ve preferred the conflict would’ve centered around a Sith cult trying to resurrect him, and the protagonists are trying to prevent that
Having only seen TFA, wouldn’t have been better/made more sense for Kylo & the Knights of Ren to be up to this in the 2nd film & then conclude it in the 3rd?

I don’t see Leia doing anything in RotJ that’s different than her previous roles.
When we first meet her, she’s on an undercover mission not too much different than her mission to Endor.
I think many people see her as a demoted Princess, but that was mostly a ruse.

I really wish the action at Jabba’s would have taken place on a lush, tropical rainforest type planet. That would have added new visual flair to the film & it seems like a place where slug-like creatures would thrive.
Also, the Sarlac being the gaping maw of a huge, beautiful flower would be better than a hole in the sand.

With all due respect to your research and the article, I don’t want the original theatrical version on Disney+. I want them on disc, so I can watch them whenever I want without having to deal with a subscription service.
Pretty sure the thought is: If they’re available for streaming, they’ll be available on disc.
The article is just pointing out how easily & seamlessly the versions can exist side-by-side.
