Im 100 % sure its the Sony at fault. Checking through past entries into this forum i have noticed other people having the same problem they also have the Sony 350. Empire was burned after episode 4 and its perfect.  So can someone PLEASE HELP  with this problem !!!         thanks guys

it is a problem with the sony 350, funny thing is the PS3 plays it perfectly! so its specific to the 350 and not sonys in general the old avchd work around used to be extract the *.m2ts file from the stream folder of the disc and burn it directly to a dvd with no folders but still in udf 2.5 and it would play not got round to trying it with ep 4 and the sony 350 though! but might be worth a try

Some good news (for the PT fans). I got my laserdisc of TPM yesterday so i can begin work on the theatrical version of this in the week. I haven't had chance to listen to the 5.1 track yet but i'll begin ripping it tomorrow and then begin the long editing process shortly after. This will probably be the next release.

that is good news! woo hoo!

any indy fans here? i can up my 1080p avchd raiders too if required

here ya go

its on demonoid do a search for adywan i removed the link due to forum rules etc

i apologise in advance for my crap upload speed :(

pjvader,

Next time, please just upload the release as it was released. You should of uploaded the rar files instead of the one big compiled iso file.

It makes it much easier for people to download and prevents lots of other potential problems

my rars were corrupted i had to use all the pars and repairs had a nightmare to extract it! (thank u giganews :(  )
if u have unrarred it and still have the files just point your torrent to the iso file directory and it should work that way too it worked for the other seeders

im putting a torrent up on demonoid if thats ok with ady if not just let me know

if u have an nfo or anything u want added to the text just ask

yeh the nfo was posted to a.b.starwars with the fileset. it has all the information i would like put with the torrent, if possible (the info on demonoid doesn't mention that the main audio is the laserdisc 5.1 mix, and not the crap 2004 mix, and that there are english and dutch subtitles too)

no probs ill get it sorted

sorted!

There is region coding on Blu-ray actually

B'oh! Yes, I meant to say no region coding on the PS3 Blu-Ray... Heh. I actually have Tiger Woods '08 in PAL and it's not an issue. Thanks, guys.

i have tested the ep2 sample on a USA PS3 and a UK samsung blu-ray player and it worked fine (not had a chance to try the ANH sample)

the onlything to watch out for on AVCHD's are the framerates a 25fps disc wont play on a US PS3 but will on a UK one or UK standalone player whereas a 24fps will play on all machines

i found out the hard way :(

I'm encoding the first pass colour correction for ANH now. I'm having to do it in chunk of 30 minutes because the rendering times are horrendous. After effects reported 58 hours to encode the whole movie. Hopefully i will have some comparison screenshots to post a bit later today.

58 hours aint too bad lol if only there was a way to combine all our processing power like they do with the s.e.t.i. programme and such!

i think i said it before but im more excited about this than clone wars! (and im getting a little excited by that now, even moreso if i can find somewhere projecting it digitally!)

wow i think im gonna delete the saga from my sky HD box and replace it with these! cant believe you got the commentary too i had trouble just fitting the movie on a DL!

your bitrate was too high when you encoded it.....you need to take into account the filesize for the audio,

and adjust the encoding rate.....also it depends on what codec it uses? vc-1/.h264? mpg2 doesn't compress

as well of course...........but is easier to edit, or play around with depending on what tools you have......

i know a lot of people like streaming files to their xbox360, or ps3, but i'd rather have something physical

for high def movies, in case my hard drives die out..............................

yeah its all down to the bitrate i was using a bitrate calculater (brinscoft iirc) and it was always coming out just a bit too big for a DL disc and that was without the commenataries! i too prefer a hard version i can take to my friends house etc.

ady if its of any use to you i can confirm the sample worked on a samsung BD-p1500 uk blu ray player and a US ps3 with todays latest fw patch 30/7/08

is it wrong that im more excited about ady's discs than the clone wars movie in 2 weeks time?

wow i think im gonna delete the saga from my sky HD box and replace it with these! cant believe you got the commentary too i had trouble just fitting the movie on a DL! you picked a great scene to test too lots of movement, light and dark and colours ranging from deep black to hot pink

these are gonna be THE discs to own until an official release and due to your improvemnents probably beyond that

are you upscaling any of the OT footage or rejigging the HD versions? I CANT WAIT ARRRGHHH wish i could give u a few spare TB's if i had any lol ( i was doing mine off a 500gb external! lol)

hi ady long time admirer first time caller!

have u got a pal ot ntsc ps3? have u checked to see if the 24fps will play on it? i only ask as i have a US one and have been fiddling around with avchd's and have found that the only framerate the ps3's are truly happy with are 23.97 i can get the same disc to play a black screen on mine audio only on my samsung 1500 blu black screen on a HK ps3 and plays fine on a UK ps3 but if i reencode it to 23.97 it plays fine on alll of them? i couldnt download your test file is there any chance you could reup it please? thanks i have pretty much given up on my saga avchd's as i couldnt get them to play due to them being 25fps if i dropped the framerate to 23.97 they play fine but lose the synch! so cant wait for yours especially with a commentary god knows how you fit it all on ; )

this is great news thanks ady1,  i have been slowly archiving all my HD mkv's to blu compatible avchd, i have the 720p avchd versions of the OT and was having comatibitlity issues due to the differing framerates so started work on my own versions in 1080p from the same versions that you are using for your encodes, but was about to give up as they would either be

a -oversized

b -would play on my samsung uk player but not on the US ps3

i read that its down the framerates 25fps wont play on a US ps3 23.97 works perfectly not sure about 24 but that would be perfect if it did

i cant get the sample page to open but im sure i read that someone got it to work on an ntsc ps3 so i have my fingers crossed for this set and if possible please keep the commenataries as that would be so cool (i could barely fit the normal soundtrack on lol!)

CANT WAIT!!! thanks again for all your hard work

I might be interested. I think there are some other preservations out there. Do you know how yours compares to theirs?

I know OCPmovie included a timecoded vhs version of Star Tours on his Return of the Ewok DVD. Is this the same video as that?

this one has no timecodes its widescreen i think i used to have a fullscreen timecoded copy
i think im gonna make the disc just so i have something to keep it in :) ill post it when its done if anyone has any ideas or things they would like to add please do

would anyone be interested in a star tours dvd?

i have just done a 16:9 transfer of the rides video (vhs nth generation, not filmed on the ride!)

i also have a fan made history of the ride i could add and im currently trying to sync a stereo soundtrack to the ride footage

all you need is a friend to rock your chair as you watch it and to flash a torch in your face to go with the explosions lol
