That's the main problem of the movie. The censorship. The novelization is full of blood, exploding heads, split bodies, cut body parts ... and the only thing you could see was the fake looking cut arm in the cantina sequence. And they cut even more "violence" out of the movie for the "special edition" :-(

I’m just curious, if somebody preserved the old 80’s cartoons.
I know, that a few episodes of these serials were edited together to appear like movies, and released on DVDs.
But that’s NOT what was shown on TV. The cartoon episodes, even when they’re piss poor, are an important part of the Star Wars universe and deserve to get a proper “preservation”.
I found online a few torrents. The Droids episodes are very bad DivX encodes, barely watchable. Ewoks are all damaged, none of the avi files I checked is complete, and “playable” .
Does anybody know where I can get full and undamaged versions of episodes of these cartoons ? It would be great to find somebody who taped them off TV

The shots are brutally oversaturated, LexX's shots look much better. But still, a very good "experiment" . And if somebody can turn it into an Avisynth script ... :-)
What is the currently best (or recommended) software for doing color correction of mpg2 files ? I bought Vegas ONLY for this and it looks like it can't import m2v files :-(

OK I finished only Star Wars. But after checking doubleofive's galery http://picasaweb.google.com/doubleofive/StarWarsSpecialEditionChangesHD I found many changes which I never noticed before. So basically the finished version is a hybrid, which features no CGI additions, Greedo doesn't shoot, Jabba doesn't appear etc. but still has reworked laser blasts, new skies, etc.
But I definitely plan to get back to it and re-work it again :)
