Help: looking for... the 2 Ewok Movies and the Holiday Special in HD or Blu-Ray
Time

The Holiday Special was shot on NTSC video (480i), so no HD unless somebody upscales the best copy. The Ewok movies were released only on DVD in modified form, and because they’re not canon anymore, I highly doubt Disney will invest in a new HD transfer of movies they pretend never existed.

Best quality? Holiday Special - the TV master or the Zion Hybrid - hard to decide.
Ewok movies were officially released on DVD (again - modified), the original versions are not available at all.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Time

I actually stopped caring for the Marvel movies a long time ago (in a galaxy far far away). But I still love the TV shows (except for Luke Cage and Inhumans, plus I haven’t seen the Runaways). I loved the first Iron Man movie, which was kept pretty “down to Earth”, looked great, had a nice combination of practical and digital effect, great acting, great editing, but it had a stupid absolutely unnecessary villain. The modern movies look like they were all shot in front of a green screen (I wonder why) and mostly try to shove in as much shit from the comics (which I never read or will read) as possible and always end up with a stupid bossfight, and of course a giant laser beam shooting at the sky.

Dealing with People Selling Fan Projects
Time
 1. They are sending you copyrighted material without the permission of the copyright owner.
 2. In exchange they ask from you money
 3. The copyrighted material is a derivative work, not tranformative work, it’s complete and not just a few clips, and it’s not provided for criticism, scholarship, commentary, parody or news reporting.

So I don’t know like you but I all I see is selling illegal copies of copyrighted material

STAR WARS: REBELS (animated tv series) - a general discussion thread
Time

A friend of mine suggested that I watch Rebels, which I already planned to do at some point in the future, just hadn’t gotten around to yet. However, he says the first season sucks, but it gets great as soon as S2 begins. Is that a fair assessment? If so, how much of S1 do I have to watch to know enough to get to the good stuff?

I would actually say the opposite. I think the series gets worse with every season.

Babylon 5 - Broadcast NTSC (4:3)? (Released)
Time

The CGI scenes and the live action scenes which transition to or from CGI scenes are taken from a low resolution source, possibly LD, and cropped to 16:9. The same goes to many of the scenes with the text describing the cast and crew. However the “pure” live action scenes look like “new” film scans.

BTW I shared my copy of The Gathering years ago on myspleen, it’s 4:3 and the original version, and I bought it when it was new.
