Is it possible you heard the original broadcasts?

Nope. I definitely just saw it at my house on some sort of VHS or laserdisc. It is plausible that I could have seen it on some documentary on TV, but it would have to be in the last decade; nothing from the 80's. I do remember the scene looking like that, minus the interjected bit with R2D2 and 3PO; that surprised me.

You are not alone. This is exactly how I remember it from the movie I used to watch as a kid. I also agree with the Droids segment, it does NOT belong there, I think that's just another fuckup - they had this short segment of R2 and 3PO and they wanted to add it somewhere on the BluRay - and they edited it into an incorrect place

It would be nice to be a Star Trek fan. Or Lord of the Rings for that matter.

At least the outlook for Indy fans looks good...

Well the TOS boxset(s) is(are) great. Every episode is represented in 2 versions, with the original effects and with the new CG effects, and there is a brand new 7.1 mix created from original elements AND the original mono mix. That would be great for Star Wars too

What ???

TNG on BluRay ???

Where can I find some information about it ?

BTW I hope they use the old special effects, the models look much more real then the crappy CGI from Voyager. (The funny thing is that the DS9 CG effects lokk MUCH better).

Are you sure the DS9 tribble episode was upscaled ? Well the special effects scenes definitely were (and they look terrible), but I'm not sure about the live-action footage

Concerning Ewoks, not so sure.

Concerning Hobbits ... sorry Ewoks...

I have had a very very very hard time last weeks (my mother died) but I tried various methods for removing the blended frames. Without success.

Therefore I decided I will continue with my original plan, that means I will do a "version 1.0" which will only be a simple PAL capture with most of the "video noise" removed . I have done episodes 1 & 2 till now and I'm quite satisfied with the result.

In cca 2-3 weeks something nice will appear on myspleen :)

I have a question about the "Luke's ghost" scene. "Somewhere" I have seen a screenshot from a similar or the same angle, but Luke was running up the staircase. I think it could be from the same scene. Does anybody know what I'm talking about ? images.google.com is not very helpful :-(

Hi, just signed up here after a long time lurking - consider me another fan for whom these new Blu-Ray changes represent the proverbial donkey back breaking straw...

Anyway - I believe this is the still you are refering to...

This COULD be the shot. I remember it from a slightly different angle, but it could be just mixed memories. But thanks for confirming I'm not absolutely crazy yet :-)
