Is that "our" Neil S. Bulk ?
Is that "our" Neil S. Bulk ?
Simply WOW
TPM - there is a pretty good looking DVD from a PAL TV broadcast. But I would too LOVE if somebody would do proper preservations of the prequels too
That's actually one of the changes I don't care about :-) But it IS annoying to find out NOW that they changed even more things
Lovely color palette
So what problem do you actually have ?
I don't know about DVD-Lab, but in DVDLabPro it's pretty easy :-)
Oh shit :-( I'm sorry to read that.

To be honest, this is not as much about you waiting, as it is about me having my computer bogged down by encoding and unable to do anything else properly for so long. I mean, I wouldn't mind if I knew it was unavoidable but if it can encode that fast at first and then it slows down gradually, and if the same video with the same settings can take anywhere between 12hrs and 45minutes, it seems like there's something wrong somewhere.
Not sure what kind of a processor do you own but in the case that you have a multi-core processor and the encoder allows it you can always play with the affinity settings and let the main core do something else than encoding :-)
We waited so long, there is no reason why we couldn't wait longer :-)
Take all the time you need
Almost there ...
Wow, a 2 days encode ? I feel bad about your electricity bills :-)

So I could just email them and get discs 1, 3, & 4 for free? ;-)
Yes, if you know "The entire Inner ID number, located on the back of disc 1, 3 or 4 on the inner hub. It should begin with the letters SL"

The response from CBS on the audio issue is pretty respectable. They're not even asking people to mail in UPCs, receipts, or the original discs. I put my request in yesterday.

Did somebody find some easter eggs ? After ripping disc 6 I found a short Data make-up test which I don't remember seeing in the main menu
I'd read somewhere that there was an Easter egg on disc 6, so that's probably it.
How are you enjoying the set so far, audio issues aside?
I absolutely love the new transfer. There are so many new details on the Enterprise model ... However I don't like the CGI models, the CG Enterprise looks quite different than the physical model
It's an USA-only offer, isn't it ?

Great :-)
The trilogy - No. But I think the Ewok was released by Bonton but it's a long time since I heard it
Yes, the 80's dubs are unofficial, but official dubs were made like this too. But thank god they stopped doing it very soon :-)
None - I'll try to put the Ewok dub somewhere this weekend

It's funny, Sat.1 is a German TV station, and the logo in the corner is the one they used in the 90s. So it's obviously just a recording of the German TV-broadcast, dubbed with the English audio and over-dubbed with Czech...
Yes, that's exactly the uploader's comment under the youtube video :-)
Oh - I haven't seen the last one, so thanks for the info.
Also, the new crawl looks MUCH better
Oh my God, THANKS A LOT for the Czech dubs :-) It brings back some really nice memories :-)
Just a little explanation what "rychlodabing" is - it was pretty common in the late 80's / early 90's that they used the original audio (usually mono downconverted from stereo), and overlaid over it were new dialogues in Czech. Usually one man was speaking for all male characters, and one woman was speaking for all female characters. Usually the czech "actors" didn't ACT, but only read the text from the paper, without any emotion. That was quite funny in porn movies especially :-)
BTW I have the Ewok movie in this type of dubbing.
And Ond?ej Neff is a Czech sci-fi writer and translator of all Star Wars novels
I apologize if it was answered before, but what framerate will the MKV (or AVCHD) have ? I'm asking because your workprints were PAL ...
Great !
