Info: Star Wars unseen - to find all deleted scenes from all 6 Saga movies
Time

So right now Empire is finished for the time being, the content will be

1) Attack of the Wampas - 27:04

- imperial probe droid killing a wampa after arriving on the planet

- Wampa attacks Luke and kills his tauntaun (extended)

- Han arriving in the hangar (alternate from trailer)

- Chewie arguing with Han in English (from ebooks)

- Han and Leia argue at the corridor (extended with 2 new scenes)

- medical droid examining a dead wampa (photos + script excerpts)

- Luke escaping from the Wampa (extended/alternate)

- Han rescues Luke ("alternate" audio - "shelter up")

- Wampas attack the base (reedit of deleted scenes from bluray)

- Luke in bacta tank (extended)

- Han and Chewie destroying the probe droid (moved earlier as was originally planned)

- Luke and Leia at the hospital (extended / alternate)

2) Attack on the rebel base - 1:31

- death of General Veers (?)

- Han rescues Leia (extended / alternate)

- troopers enter the base, killed by Wampas

3) Landing on Dagobah - 1:28

- did anybody else ever notice the moon/planet in the bottom right corner when Falcon enters the space slug? I never noticed it till now!

- Luke's landing on Dagobah (extended / alternate)

4) Repairing the Falcon - 3:07

- Han and Leia repairing the Falcon (re-edited deleted scenes from the bluray)

- first kiss (alternate black & white take)

5) Jedi training - 1:11

- cutting the bar in several parts (multiple takes edited together)

6) Escape from Cloud City - 1:15

- with the help of a certain "Lobot" (extended)

7) Luke and Leia on the Falcon - 1:30

- Leia takes care about Luke and they talk about Boba Fett (alternate / extended)

If somebody else has better titles for the "sequences" let me know :-)

Off to Jedi, the attack on the DS will be quite problematic

Well these sites are not always 100% correct. E.g. I noticed one strange thing in Empire - during the "hospital" scene Leia originally said that general whatshisname thinks it's not safe for any ship to leave the system UNTIL THEY FOUND OUT WHERE DID THE PROBE COME FROM, to which Luke reacts with his surprised "What probe ?". Which means that originally this scene was in the movie AFTER Han & Chewie destroyed the probe droid, however in the finished cut the order of these scenes is reversed. And I found tons of these little things on all 6 movies, which are not captured anywhere.

So JD's and OCP's work are not 100% reliable on this, even though I love these docus very much.

I have also ADM's extended prequels, but he used only the scenes which can be found on the DVDs, the BDs have lots of previously unseen scenes

That sounds very cool. I'd be interested, though personally I'd prefer the OT scenes to be separate from the PT scenes. I don't know whether that's feasible for you.

I'm not sure what you mean. Every movie will have its separate "folder" including the scenes only to that specific movie. If I do the blus, I will maybe do a separate blu for the prequels and a separate disc for the OT.

So any comments to the sample vid? Or is it too big for downloads? :-)

Hi guys & gals,

I’ve been working for some time now on a little personal preservation. The goal is/was to

  • find all deleted scenes from all 6 movies (my main source were the bluray set, the Making of ebooks and a couple of trailers)

  • try to find out “where” do they belong in the movie

  • edit them in such a way, that they have a proper beginning and ending taken from the corresponding movie

Sometimes the new scenes are just 1-2 minutes long, but sometimes they’re seriously long.

This is an example of what I’m talking about, a 23:50 long scene temporarily called simply “Hoth”. If you wanna check it out, here’s a quick 720p encode presented in a 758,2 MB mkv file : http://jyh0tue68f.1fichier.com/ - it’s one of my favourite sequences, because it tries to integrate the deleted wampa subplot back to the finished scenes.

There is no cleanup being done on the deleted scenes, so you will find it’s sometimes dirty, full of scratches, it sometimes misses dialogue and/or music, and almost always it misses special effects. The “only” thing I’ve done is I ran the footage (both the bluray rip and the deleted scenes) through an automatic color correction, to match the deleted scenes better with the surrounding footage. I’m not sure yet if I keep the “new” colours or if I keep the “old” colours, both colours are annoying 😃

The result will be encoded as 6 folders full of chronologically ordered mkv files, and MAYBE a Bluray (if I find out how to do it - I’ve never authored a BD before). As usually, I am doing it for MYSELF. But if somebody else is interested in this too, let me know and one day the result will magically appear “somewhere” 😃

Just check the Hoth sequence on 1fichier.com and let me know if this is interesting also for somebody else than me 😃

There's no way they could get away with that. The tape masters for B5 look terrible! The series needs what TOS and TNG are getting. But I dunno if the original film elements even still exist.

Well if I remember the news from the time this was released on DVD, the live action footage is a new scan of the 35mm negatives, and the special effect footage (or combined live action/special effects footage) is cropped from the 4:3 tape and upscaled to 480i (and further to 576i) but it's true that was a couple of years ago.

Blu-Ray Of Unaltered Original Trilogy Rumour
Time

You guys know what are the problems of the original cuts? NONE.

I have seen the movies, I don't know, maybe 20 times before the 97SE was created? And I have never ever noticed an error. Simply because I WAS ENJOYING THE F***ING MOVIES AS EVERYBODY ELSE. Only AFTER I found sites like this and I read about the errors and mistakes, I noticed them . And do I care? No, I don't.  Yes, there are editorial mistakes, yes, there are some low quality special effects (especially in Jedi, I don't remember any "bad" effects in the first movie), yes, there are some garbage mattes, yes, there are colour imbalances, I know that. Do I care? NO.I simply LOVE the movies. And I'm pissed that Lucas instead of fixing these mistakes he created new ones and new continuity errors, that's why I prefer the originals.

Ady's versions are great and fun to watch, but what the hell are they doing in this discussion? This is about the ORIGINAL CUTS released officially, comparing them to an unofficial fan edit is absolutely POINTLESS.

color reference for ESB and ROTJ

I strongly doubt they ever used the Tech print as a color reference since ANH 97 SE was screwed up even in the theaters from what I've heard.

You see, the first thing I thought when looking at the colors of the ANH 97 SE releases and digital broadcasts was "why is the whole thing tinted cyan?" except for the Mos Eisley part of course.

Then somebody made a post which I can't find now, about how he/she and a photographer friend went to see it in 97 and the photographer mentioned there was a lot of cyan.

So yeah, if they had used the Tech print as a reference it would've looked way cleaner and better.

The colours looked great from what I remember in theatre. But when I've later seen it on both TV & VHS, it had already the pink tint

This one? no luck on my end. Though it suggests temporarily, this has been the case for a few days.

I have only now noticed Harmy uploaded 2 more workprints and I would also be happy if somebody who managed to get this could do a small reupload, thanks a lot
