I've read that the new shots are very faithful to the originals, and I've seen comparisons where that seems to be the case. But I also have seen shots from the originals* that are styled very differently to anything I'm seeing in 'remastered'. Stars streaking by the Enterprise, colorful space backgrounds and things like that are never seen in the new version. The shots are usually static and boring.
Also, I've only watched through the first season... Maybe a bit of the second. Maybe the shots I'm talking about come later?

*at least I'm guessing that's what they're from.. I'm not familiar with Star Trek at all.

 If you watch it in the production order, you suddenly start to sense a sort of an "internal logic". 

You can of course watch TOS episodes in ANY order you want, but when you watch let's say The Corbomite Maneuver you will see it was clearly intended to be a season opener, but in the broadcast order it was I think episode 10.

The Batt 23 thing is fascinating. This is a composite shot, correct? Can it be that something was written on the same "layer" which was used for the green laser shot and the "compositor" (is that a word?) missed it?

There is something weird about the Temple shot, I don't really know WHAT'S wrong with it, but the original scan looks real, but your restoration looks like a combination of a live plate and a matte painting. Can't really understand WHY but on your restoration it's much more visible that it's a painting.

Oh, the reveal of the "new" characters was great :) I love it and I can't wait for season 2. And I originally hated the show :)

That's the problem - as soon as I started to love the series it ended :( A second season would be nice. And yeah, this sort of messes up the continuity with the one shot

There was a black Spiderman? For me the only Spidy will always be the nerdy Peter Parker. Not sure why but I always liked these superheroes who were basically weird nerdy guys in real life :-)

I always liked the wolfman. I mean he looks like a highschool student's helloween costume but it perfectly fits the scene

 Generations - I think it's "visually pleasing" or "pretty to look at" but the story is a horrible piece of shit which makes no sense at all and the reused visual effects are an insult to the audience. But I do like the Enterprise crash sequence. Actually that's the only thing I like.

First Contact - a fantastic action sci-fi movie, but not REALLY a good Star Trek movie. I love it but I must admit it has way too many plot holes and this Picard is a completely different person than the TV show Picard.

Insurrection - the premise is directly contradicting previous TNG episodes. The movie also isn't very interesting, it's just OK. It would work much better as an 45 minutes long episode but they would have to swap Picard and Riker - it should be Riker who would want to make his insurrection, PIcard should be the orders obeying officer.

Nemesis - horrible piece of shit which makes absolutely no sense at all. The story is contradicting previous TNG & DS9 episodes, story is nonsensical, the action scenes are boring, Picard's clone doesn't look like Picard, the actors forgot how to act their roles .... Just crap.

So yeah, I agree with you

The new effects are hit and miss IMHO. I love the new space shots but I hate the CGI Enterprise (if it makes sense).

A completely random question - does anybody here know ALL the variations of the Enterprise NCC 1701 model? I mean I know the original Cage model had those spiky things on the front of the nacelles, then sometimes they changed the back part of the nacelles (in some shots they looked like lightbulbs, in others completely different) and of course they built a completely new model for the movies, but does anybody know what changes and when were done to the original model? I noticed only the changes on both sides of the nacelles, but I think there were more of them

The new episode "Rebel resolve" is really great, I wonder who the cloaked figure is :) Also I can't wait for the last episode, and I hope it won't end with a cliffhanger :)

If you see just a blank page just try another browser, it looks like you have some "ad blocker" which blocks the site (either a browser plugin, or your firewall, or you ISP is blocking it ...) - there is NOTHING "I" can do about it, sorry
