Deadpool is a billion dollar franchise. I wouldn’t be afraid anything bad is going to happen to it.

She did suck early on.
Sincerely, someone who just rewatched the pilot movie.
I haven’t seen the early episodes in a while but you might have a good point, if I remember correctly I didn’t like her “bratty kid” personality from the early episodes, but she grew on me and after the time jump she became my favorite character on TCW (and to be perfectly honest also on Rebels)
Wow they already fired him? I just read some of his tweets a few hours ago, and although they were disgusting, wasn’t it obvious that those were just bad jokes? Or do some people think that an actual pedo would write publicly that he rapes little boys? I mean that’s clearly a reason for a public apology, but I wouldn’t personally fire him - unless they have some proof that those were not just bad jokes
Wow, somebody dislikes Ahsoka? Why? She’s one of the best if not THE best character from post 2005
If you drop the unfunny humour and re-edit the unfinished ending, STV can be pretty good. It has some wonderful character moments - the campfire sequences and the scene where Sybok tries to “heal” Spock, McCoy and Kirk belong to my favourite scenes of all of the movies
Yesssssssssssss. The first Star Wars related news in years which I am seriously happy about. But please, for God’s sake, use the original scripts and original writers. Don’t mess it up. Don’t go too child friendly like Rebels or too leftist like TLJ.Please just finish the unfilmed scripts. Now I just wanna hope that the Disney streaming service will be available in my country.
Funny, I disagree with almost everything you said in the first post 😃 I don’t think the sequel trilogy is better than the prequel trilogy (OK, maybe with the exception of TFA, that one was pretty enjoyable). I thought that the two anthology movies we got were “OK” at best, but I’ve seen them once and I don’t really think I will watch them again, I didn’t hate them or anything (I reserve that feeling for The Last Jedi), I just don’t feel the need to ever watch them again. And this comes from a person who watches the original trilogy once a year, and the prequel trilogy every couple of years.
I never read the comics or the novels and I don’t plan to, so I can’t say anything about them, but I absolutely disagree with Rebels. The first season was OK, the second and third had a few good episodes, but most of them were boring, and most of the fourth season was just OK with the exception of the final episodes - those were really good. But it’s nowhere on the level of Clone Wars - and I am talking about both of the animated shows. The Tartarkovsky cartoon is an amazing prequel to Episode 3, the CG series is a masterpiece which will probably never be topped.
And the worst thing of all is Lucasfilm broke the fandom. There is almost no excitement for Episode 9, which is something that I never thought I will say. There will be a new Star Wars movie next year and there are millions of people all over the world who loved the original trilogy but don’t plan to watch episode 9.
So no, I would say this is the worst situation Star Wars has been in a long time.
I thought Enterprise was great from day 1. Yes, it had weaker episodes during the first 2 seasons, the third season is really good in my opinion, and the 4th season is just fan service, which some people apparently like. The character dynamic was the best since TOS. The acting was fine except for Jolene - most of the time she looks and sounds like she is desperately trying not to start laughing. I thought the show was a huge improvement after Voyager, a show filled with boring characters and technobabble.
I absolutely hate the blurry background, not here specifically, but the whole idea of it, I also would prefer black bars, but other than that I must say - thanks for improving the quality of one of my favourite special effects related documentaries
Thank you for this, I just started to watch it and I immediately found something interesting. The Tantive IV is in the opening shot much closer to the rebel ship. Do you guys remember how Mike Verta noticed that the laser blasts are shifted 12 frames from the position of the models? Looks like they first “finished” the shot including the blast frames, and THEN decided to make a bigger “gap” between the two ships but they didn’t correct the flashes
There are many scenes with models which move “strangely” in the Blu-ray version, and all of them are in episodes done by Curry’s team, a 30fps -> 24fps conversion is a good explanation for the strange movement. But he certainly used words like “video tape” and “video camera” in some of the documentaries.
If I understood the TOS situation correctly, or in other words if the people in the comment sections under those videos were correct, the Blu-rays are not source from the ORIGINAL negatives, as the promotional material suggests, but from new internegs created in early 80’s for syndication. That’s why they include unified opening credits (originally each of the first 13 episodes had slightly different opening credits) and fixed some of the effects scenes, like the planet shots in The Naked Time.
Harmy - a quick question - so are the TNG episodes available on Netflix in whole Europe? Do they contain the fixed versions? http://trekcore.com/blog/2015/08/netflix-brings-vfx-fixes-to-star-trek-tng-in-hd/2/ I’ve been searching for the fixed episodes for years, so if they are indeed there maybe I can finally have a reason to get Netflix myself.
And by the way, not ALL of the effects were done on video. Only Dan Curry’s team apparently shot effects on video at 30fps, Rob Legato’s team and definitely ILM were shooting them on classic 35mm film.
I really like the original title “Adventures of the Starkiller as taken from the Journal of the Whills, Saga I: The Star Wars”
Are the PAL and NTSC GOUT versions different?
Oh my God, that is beautiful. There is so much detail in those elements. Can they be used for restoring some of the shots?
Well if you look at the previous series, all of the time the writing staff consisted of people who had previous Star Trek credits and absolute newcomers. The Discovery team had who? Fuller was kicked off early on, Meyer was just an consultant and was kicked out pretty soon too, Joe Menosky, one of my favourite Trek writers had 1 writing credit on Discovery before he joined the Orville writing team.
Meyer is not a really good example, he never knew or understood Star Trek, but he always understood drama, and he understood people. And all of the 3 movies he (co-)wrote were great interpersonal dramas. Discovery feels like it was written by computers who tried to emulate human behaviour (and not very successfully), and not by actual humans.
I have never seen any of the reboots, but I loved the original series. I have recently re-watched it, and I still loved the first season / mini-series, but the show got dumber each season. I never watched Power Rangers, I tried but it was way too stupid. Maybe I was too old for it at the time it arrived here, I don’t know.
Meanwhile, in Discovery news:
EXCLUSIVE: The Closer creator James Duff has joined CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery as executive producer. It is part of an overall development deal he has signed with series producer CBS TV Studios.
Additionally, writer Jenny Lumet (Rachel Getting Married), who joined the series as a consulting producer at the start of Season 2, has been promoted to co-executive producer. Co-executive producer Olatunde Osunsanmi has been upped to executive producer and will serve as the series’ producer/director based on set in Toronto.
Yes, let’s bring more people in who are in no way veterans of the franchise or know what makes Trek feel like Trek.
That’s ridiculous. Only people who are Trek veterans are allowed to work on Trek? Come on.
Well having SOME people who understand Star Trek on board would be nice
You don’t have to be a veteran to “get” Star Trek.
Also, I don’t think the show’s main issue is “not getting Star Trek.”
What would you say the main issue is?
Subpar writing in general.
And basically no likeable characters, at least for me. Tilly is OK, in some episodes.Saru is OK, in some episodes. And that’s it.

No love for TNMT (the original 80’s one)?
Yes, I was talking about Bounty. Haven’t seen the show since it came out on Blu-ray, I completely forgot about the episode with Trip! I actually liked her arc during the third season, I remember it being pretty well executed, she was basically a junkie trying to fight her addiction.
Hm… I start to have a feeling that my strategy in trying to convince you to watch the show isn’t very successful.
I could never understand the hatred of Enterprise, and usually by the same people who say things like “Voyager is my favourite Trek show”. I truly liked the first three seasons, hated the last one, which interestingly enough seems to be the favourite season of most people.
Well this sounds pretty hate-worthy to me…
The first couple seasons kind of creep me out, it always felt like the focus was what compromising situation can we put T’Pol in this week?
I honestly don’t really remember anything like that, there were a few cringe-worthy decontamination scenes, there was just one episode where T’Pol was horny and tried to get somebody to f her, but that’s all I can remember.
Well, part of the problem is I don’t really know how my computer works!! For example, in the instructions to download the rapid downloader it says not to save it under program files because this might affect other plug ins or updates… so…could I save it to desktop? Would that be “safe”?
I assume you are on Windows. Depending on your version / config the “Program Files” folder(s) can be “write protected”, so updates COULD have problems. The solution is simple, install it somewhere else, e.g. “C:\Programs”.
See, I haven’t even got to downloading a film and I’m stuck! I told you I was IT useless!
You remind me on my dead mother. “I don’t know how it works and I don’t want to learn it” 😃
But, ni, pittrek, I don’t “need” the discs…I would be quite happy watching them via a USB (I have a portable 1TB HDD actually with some avchd files on it from my camera which I can plug into my blu ray player or tv via a usb port).
Again, I suspect I could just download the avchd versions of despecialized (?) as I have read on here on the forums they are smaller files but little loss in quality?
Sure, if AVCHD is good enough for you, you can download these versions, they’re smaller. I never downloaded them since I have no equipment for playing the format, so I can’t comment on the quality.
Any help would be fab!

The same goes for The Motion Picture, which is one of my favourite movies of all times, but most people seem to hate it 😃
