I’m pretty sure several copies are circulating
I’m pretty sure several copies are circulating
Good luck man. Star Wars can wait, health is the most important thing
Jesus, did people forget how to READ?
Brand new clips from “The Roddenberry Vault”. I f’in can’t wait till my copy arrives. Come on, amazon!!!
BTW does anybody plan to do some colour correction of the clips? I plan to do some noise reduction, but I suck at colour correcting.

The colours - oh sorry, I meant colars, look absolutely beautiful. No crushed blacks, no overblown whites, nice contrast, love it. But I have a question - why does the level of grain change from shot to shot?
OK, that looks like a fun action movie. But it’s weird to see my favourite Batman to play a villain.
Interesting. So I was right and it was them trying to get the best mattes? Thanks for the info guys
Isn’t it during the closing credits of Empire of Dreams? If I remember correctly
I unfortunately can’t afford to help right now so I just wanted to tell you how much I LOVE what you uploaded till now 😃
Hello!!! I am new in Originaltrilogy.com and I do not know how to download the Respecialized Edition (if I can). Somebody could help me?
Well, reading is a good start.
If you would read the first post, you would find this
This can be found at the usual paradoxical place in the same thread as the Despecialized Edition.
So the next logical thing is to read the Despecialized edition thread : http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-V25-MKV-IS-OUT-NOW/id/12713
There are detailed information in the first post how to get this.
To make it even easier, this is a direct link to a google document : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yLsvexWBVM8IYSGopKuSfsGk5YIgCwQWd23bqb5ryD4/pub
OK this is straight forward question from a guy who tries to understand everything behind blue/green screens etc.
After watching several documentaries, mostly about Star Wars and Star Trek I noticed one thing - ILM created (or popularized?) a new method of filming miniatures - filming them in multiple passes using their motion control camera system.
I know that they did like one pass with the unlit model, one pass with only the lights etc., however I have no clue WHY they did shoot it like this? Does the final optical composite look more “real”, more “3D”? Or is it simply because of some purely technical reason, e.g. minimize the “blue/green spill” problem?
I love TOS and TNG. I didn’t like Ds9 in the beginning but I learned to love it. I didn’t learn to love Voyager. And I loved the first 3 seasons of Enterprise. Plus most of the first 9 movies.
Would this do any good for laserdisc captures? (i.e. the neglected, unaltered version of Millennial Garbage Movie '98)
Yes, stacking frames can really help with laserdisc and VHS captures, it can get rid of player-induced noise, and if you have multiple discs, then it can help remove dropouts and pressing errors, while reducing the chroma noise etc.
I’ve got an opposite question - if you have a grainy DVD and a Blu-ray so degrained that it looks too cartoony, is there a way to combine the HD image with the grain from the DVD?
Yep, the only person on the team who understood Star Trek is gone. But don’t be sad, they at least have the guy who wrote the Joel Schumacher Batman movies, so it still can be great
This is the first time I have ever seen a “full” scan of a film including the audio track. It’s fascinating to watch, thank you very much for that
Finally some good news.
Looks nice!
If they won’t release the theatrical cut next year for the 40th anniversary, Star Wars fans will be as pissed as Star Trek fans were this year, at the 50th anniversary
Yes, the only reason why to get them is to get the scenes which are not available anywhere else and the original color timing
So here is the list of all the videos from the Rinzler ebooks
Making of Star Wars
The Making of Empire Strikes Back
Making of Return of the Jedi
Was this ever finished / made public?
Well if you decide to do a private topic I’d like to be invited. Even though most of my comments are how I don’t like something 😃
I know AoTC and ROTS have a hard time restoring the film versions of their theatrical release…
Not ROTS. The only difference between the theatrical and DVD is a cut vs. a wipe. The DVD version was shown in HD so it is available, and the BD has the proper wipe, so a reconstruction would be very simple.
Nope. The wipe, different Wookiee houses during the battle, different audio including e.g. added stormtrooper voices when they attack the tall people …
I would really love to see proper restorations of the prequels. I mean episode 3 could be recreated easily using the Bluray, the HDTV broadcast and the NTSC DVD audio, episode 1 could be recreated using the Blu-ray, the many TV broadcasts and / or the LD transfer, but we as far as I know have no proper source for Episode II
I thought the list was covered properly on this forum but I can’t find any thread which would contain a full list of videos, so I’ll try to write down a list later today.
