Info Wanted: Pittrek's "pure" '04 DVD/GOUT hybrid OT project...
Time

Hey, you like it ? Glad :-)

The subtitles are of course recreated, and done in AviSynth.

They're done by some script which I had from this site, I'm not sure about the author (I've done this last version last summer). Here is the same frame, after cropping and resizing to 720x326, does it look better ?

The main problem is that I don't have a proper reference for the font and position of the subtitles, all I have are screenshots from the terribly looking widescreen theatrical version, and Darth Editoud & Adywan's edits. Is any of the fanedits a good representation of the original subtitles ?

OK :-)

First of all I have to apologize for the screenshots, they're taken directly from the DVD, which means they're full 720x576, and they're taken from VirtualDubMod  which means that the aspect ratio is wrong (but the video is of course correct).

A couple of randomly taken shots

Which company did distribute it ?

Episode ... Ehm, which episode ?

Under attack

All men to attack position

There will be no escape for the princess ... ehm Captain this time

Droid escape

What happened to the message you intercepted ?

I love dewbacks

Luke doesn't go to the academy next year

Ben's luxury hut

Ben's luxury hut

Entré to Mos Eisley

Going somewhere, Solo ? (with recreated subtitles)

Enough for now, do you have special requests for some scenes ?

I don't like the colors on some scenes (especially those created by colorlike) and I'm still not 100% satisfied with the Greedo font

Correct way of fixing PAL speedup (touching only audio)
Time
Hi, how would you guys fix audio suffering from PAL speedup ? To be more precise, I have a LD -> DVD transfer of Queen's concert in Budapest 86 in fantastic audio / video quality, the problem is that the concert was shot on film, so the incorrect pitch makes the concert unlistenable for me.
I usually used to solve this problem with AviSynth
[q]
AssumeFPS(24, sync_audio = true)
ConvertFPS(25)
[/q]

but a lot of people think it's a bad idea. I had now the opportunity to watch my previous attempt on an LCD TV, and the video has something which is best described as "motion blur". Since I have the original transfer in ex. quality, I want to do a version 2.0 . Any ideas ?

Help Wanted: Star Wars Hexalogy
Time

Hello,
this is a project I started many, many, many years ago I always work on it for a few months and then abandon it, so writing this thread is for me a motivation to finally finish it

When I originally started with this, I was pissed by the fact that the official Star Wars DVDs released here in Slovakia did NOT have slovak audio, just subtitles, while the official VHS tapes (made by the same company) DID.
Since my family members don’t like reading subtitles ( ), I decided to add slovak (or czech) audio to the official DVDs. Of course there was this “small” problem that I have audio for the theatrical versions of the movies, but the DVDs are NOT the theatrical version, they’re a total mess.
So I started to re-edit the official DVDs to their theatrical versions, using many different sources of different quality. So the result is basically something which is usually called a composite edit.

So the plan is to have 2 DVDs for each movie, one will have the movie and the second disc will be an “Alien Quadrilogy”-type bonus disc.

Disc 1: The Phantom Menace

  • theatrical version of the movie
  • theatrical english audio
  • slovak audio
  • deleted scenes as bonus
  • status : finished

Disc 2: The Making Of Menace

  • devided into pre-production, production and post-production
  • status : to-do

Disc 3: The Attack Of The Clones

  • theatrical version of the movie
  • theatrical english audio
  • slovak audio
  • status : finished

Disc 4: The Making Of Clones

  • status : to-do

Disc 5: The Clone Wars

  • all episodes of this animated series re-edited into 1 movie
  • status : finished

Disc 6: The Revange Of The Sith

  • theatrical version of the movie
  • theatrical english audio
  • slovak audio
  • status : Bold"

Disc 7: The Making Of Sith

  • status : to-do

Disc 8: Droids

  • the complete series
  • status : to-do

Disc 9: Star Wars

  • ALL 3 theatrical audio mixes
  • 1985 remix & 1993 remix
  • isolated score
  • status : **finished, but **I will do another version

Disc 10: The Making Of Star Wars

  • classic documentaries
  • status: to-do

Disc 11: The Empire Strikes Back

  • all 2 theatrical audio mixes
  • isolated score
  • status: work in progress

Disc 12: The Making Of Empire

  • status: to-do

Disc 13: The Return Of The Jedi

  • isolated score
  • status: to-do

Disc 14: The Making Of Jedi

  • status: to-do

Disc 15: From Cinemas to your home

  • Holiday special, TV shows, TV parodies…
  • status: finished

Disc 16: Ewoks

  • all episodes

Disc 17: Caravan Of Courage
Disc 18: The Battle For Endor

  • official releases, I’ll keep them for myself.

I would need some help with the bonus discs, any ideas for the documentaries ?
If anybody is interested, I could try to do some screenshots, if you request some.

Yeah, sorry, I remembered you said that in another thread after I posted last.

Are you thinking of using some of the anti-aliasing that Arnie.d and Moth3r have done and my image stabilization for your GOUT sources?

I'll be looking forward to seeing your work!

Yes, I abandoned the project a couple of month ago because of total lack of free time, but I definitely have to return to it ASAP and finish it.
My last version of SW uses as video a combination of color-corrected 2004 DVD and GOUT resized to anamorphic, and it has 5 audio tracks containing all mixes. I'm still not satisfied with it because all of the GOUT footage was shaky and I used an incorrect font to Greedo's subtitles (your font looks MUCH better).
When I saw your screenshots and video, I decided to rework all the GOUT footage to be less shaky and also the better font
