very strange that it states they are region 2 discs - though the boxart and discart is from Asia (which is a different region ?)

Shots 1 & 6 on Moth3r's site works ok for me (except MBJ's shot 6) - you can certainly tell the difference between the differing versions

ANH has just been on - deffo the 97SE version

Watching it again, I can't believe what a wuss Wedge is when he gets hit in the Death Star Trench Run!

He could have stayed with them instead of bailing out - acting as another ship for the 3 Imperial Ships to shoot at, or took one for the team, or even slammed on the brakes for the following ships to hit him!

Should be interesting to see what is involved in the process of getting an LD capture onto a dvd - with the know-how, software, hardware and time taken.

Also the differences between the NTSC, PAL and Japanese LD versions too - which has advantages over the other etc

SerVente - the changing colours of the lightsabres didn't annoy you - afterall they've had years to get it right and couldn't even do it for the dvd release?

or the boxes surrounding the TIE Fighters after the Mill Falcon's escape from the Death Star?

the different shading between shots of the same screen?

For some people not only was it disappointing not to get the Original Original Trilogy on dvd, but the effects were not much better than those done back in the day.

MagnoliaFan's PRE-ANH DVD version is an experience to watch - a very enjoyable one at that.

There is sometihng eerie about seeing the crawl come up minus the 'Episode IV'...

I was intrigued by this version at first - though when I saw the pic quality, price and how he packages them (or not as the case may be) then I rapidly lost interest.

Hal9000 - re your subtitles

Nice job, m8 - reading through them (even without the film playing in the background) - you seem to have done a very well rounded version. Hope that MagFan will put yours and ADigitalMan's versions in as an option on his v2.0.

Just on a really nitpicky point - I think you may have mis-spelt 'protocol' in Sub 7, and sometimes the word 'Queen' appears with a capital Q, other times it does not. (not sure if this is in the document you typed or in the film itself).

Was talking with a sci-fi fan earlier today - she was too young to see the Original Trilogy when they first came out in the cinemas, but told me that on seeing Episode I she went to the cinema and saw it 4 times!

This was because she thought the excitement and all the hype of the The Phantom Menace for a long time got in the way of her enjoying the film for itself, so in the days that followed she went and watched it again, and again, and erm… finally again.

So, how many of you lot went to see Star Wars films (OT and PT) at the cinema, and how many times did you go back for more again, and why?
