Thought you might be interested in this laserdisc player which is currently in Ebay:

Great find Mugsy - maybe the lads at the X0 project could come to some sort of arrangement to 'hire' the ld player for a few weeks - if they didn't want/need it permanantly...

Thanks for the newletter lads

I take it using PAL discs would not give much extra to the quality of the starfiields either? - great work with what you've done - I wonder how many other tricks and surprised you have in store for us...

Am looking forward to your next issue

Re- getting another XO Player - would it be worth putting a sticky topic up asking if anyone has any info or sourcesas to whether they may know of one? Maybe putting it up at other SW/LD/DVD restoration sites etc too?

Am I the only one who thinks the CGI effects look fake?

There seems to be a lot more background shots in the PT - I mean actors in the distance with CGI surrounding them as a background - than the OT where close up shots of the actors were the norm.

It gives substance to the view that the CGI takes you out of the story and characters and lessens it's effect - and changes the feel the of the saga. Obviously GL going back and inserting more CGI into the OT will 'help' change the overall direction style...

The Annie Angst Thread

I tihnk it's more the delivery of the line (and whole lot more - not just by Hayden) that makes it stick out like a sore thumb.

Unfortunately it SEEMS that none of the actors stood up to Lucas or suggested other better lines of dialogue, ala Ford and others in the OT - or had the ability to deliver lines in the way Guiness, Cushing, Earl Jones and others did...

Hayden may look a little mean and angst ridden - though his acting/delivery/ability left a lot to be desired - something which was a key factor in the Prequel Trilogy...

^ Dave - I'd recommend looking at the ADigitalMan's Edits in the Preservation & Fan Edit forum - they are a 2004dvd release that has been seSE'd...

The picture, sound and editing quality is of a very high standard - and what is more it views as Original Trilogy we know and grew up with (most of us over 30 anyway )

There is also 2 (so far) Prequel Trilogy Edits from ADM - well worth seeing as these versions - like MagnoliaFan's Edits) are far more enjoyable and in keeping withe the OT than the official GL releases...
