There is another horizontal cover for a DVD, however, it’s a SteelBook and it’s only in Italy, also it’s not Star Wars.

Please just tell me how to upload direct links here in OT.com and I can show you.

To post a picture here from another website, use this:-

![] (insert-link-in-here-between-the-brackets) - and then delete the space between the ] and (

If you just want to link it here then just ā€˜copy and paste’ the link on here and that’ll work too 😃

From Jetrell Fo’s superb collection…

just a sample of Ell the Ewok - more of his other work, and for more of the other covers previewed below can be found on…

These look great, reminds me of some of the horizontal boxes for the Super Famicom games which I had as a kid (I did not understand some of the text back then because I didn’t learn Japanese yet but I loved playing them, even without being fluent in Japanese). Some games which had vertical boxes like Super Mario World, Mega Man X1-4 and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and some were horizontal like the Final Fantasy games, Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia.

What cases are they for?

And speaking of the Super Famicom and horizontal covers, I think a cover series inspired by the boxes of the Super Star Wars Trilogy on the SNES would be really cool.

Glad you like them - I’m surprised we haven’t seen more landscape’ style covers like Ell the Ewoks - I think they are kind of different and look fun. I don’t think they were for a specific set - which is also kind of nice when you can easily use covers for various sets 😃

To see a Famicom/SNES-based dvd cover of the Super Star Wars trilogy would be cool. Is this what you are thinking of?:-

Yes. But I’m thinking some of the logos and text would have to be altered if we were to make a DVD/Blu-ray cover.

And while I usually prefer Japanese cover art for most retro games, I think this kind of cover should be based on the US or Europe boxes since the Japanese box was vertical.

Ā

This is just a very quick & rough draft for ideas (the fonts for the logos are wrong, and it is not to scale or size etc) - I don’t really have the time right now, or to be honest - the skills required for a task like this - but perhaps something along the lines of this?

and

^ The picture is a little squished (a photobucket thing?), ā€˜the original trilogy’ seal isn’t quite the correct shade of gold colour, and I can’t find the correct Super Nintendo font (it isn’t ā€˜Agency FB’ as some say it is - which is more like Star Trek. Some say it is Helvetica) - which, I can’t find for free right now. Doh!
Ā

Ā

It may also be worth bumping one of the old request threads - or starting a new one for it - there are some superbly talented people on here - and I’m pretty sure it is something of interest that may attract them to knocking up a high quality set like this…

Star Wars 1992 VHS styled DVD covers

Are these by EyeShotFirst any good for you mate? (may need some tinkering… it has US spelling and the layout is a little different, though the black background should make it easier to edit etc?)

Ā

and the full size files can be found, viewed and downloaded from here:-

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0ByfjLkYDj7bROVVsSXFCQWxvS1k?usp=sharing

(it’ll be in the ā€˜EyeShotFirst 1992’ folder - there are a few others on there which may be of interest)

Ā

I’m not 100% sure but think I saw a vhs set of these got for something ridiculous like Ā£5 on ebay uk not so long ago - may be worth keeping an eye out on there too for another cheap set - especially if the covers are in good condition.

Also, if any of the users in this thread are still around - http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/1992-VHS-release-of-the-OT/id/13108 - they may be able to help you with a good scan of the back covers?

I love to hate listening to people who think they know all about alcohol just because they’ve tried some expensive stuff (they’re usually bashing ā€œcheapā€ stuff). I also love their faces when they find out they are talking to someone who studies these things and that it’s obvious that they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.
But why do people do this? I experience it mostly with beer and liquor, but it happens with just about any subject. Why pretend like you know about something you don’t know about? It only makes you look silly.

How I see ray_afraid from now on…

Question for Jetrell Fo and oojason regarding Jetrell Fo’s collection put on google drive.

I’ve been looking around the collection and have noticed two things.

1 - in the Jetrell Cover Collection/Coov/Fancy directory, the file fancy-ANH.jpg is only 181Kb and displays partially. Was it corrupted during transfer somewhere along the line, or is the source corrupt?

2 - in the Jetrell Cover Collection/Dark Jedi Transfer Covers/Dark-Sega Collection directory there are two pdf files. Is it possible that the file ā€œANH Special Collection insert.pdfā€ might exist, but didn’t make the transfer to google?

Weirdly mate - although I have a full thumbnail of the Coov Fancy ANH cover - but if I upload it, or open it, it only shows the top 1cm or so - the rest of the art is just greyed-out. Unfortunately I think the file may be corrupt. If you wish, send me a PM and I’ll arrange to send you the file directly - though sadly I don’t really have an answer for what is a very cool cover.

^ EDIT - now corrected - Jetrell Fo kindly sent me the file again - it is now working fine and has been uploaded to the googledrive and ready for viewing / downloading 😃

Re the Dark Jedi / Dark Saga - yes, unfortunately there are only 2 pdf files for the inserts (ESB & ROTJ - no ANH).

EDIT - June 2017 : photobucket.com have been really annoying and have recently stopped 3rd party hosting - so many of the links for covers on the next few pages (pages 176 to 180) are now broken… (and I’m unwilling to pay the seemingly exorbitant $399 a year for the links to be to work again).

However, if you click on the ā€˜link’ below each picture - it will still take you to the cover / art etc to view and download.
Ā

Fortunately all the covers posted are also stored in on Mega - which is free, easy to use, and to download:-

Rikter - 1.44 gb Star Wars Cover collection disc: https://mega.nz/folder/0PFRzYpC#DLtVxS3gT3ikn67Qo5SbVw

Jetrell Fo - 1.141gb Star Wars cover art: https://mega.nz/folder/1HVyDSJC#9S8hU-cD4QjD1WtjN5wZeA

oojason - 1.86gb Star Wars cover art collection: https://mega.nz/folder/JfUTwACb#F-B4a_-oJrLTbP7h0KHw8Q

From Jetrell Fo’s superb collection…

If anyone out there has covers or works from…

ReverendBeastly, Falle, HotRod, AvP, Spyderbyte, Chainsaw Ash, Imrahil, and Yourfriendkaysar

please post them up in here - thank you 😃
