Why do I even visit this site

Pretty much. This place is toxic. If we actually get the OUT after Celebration and keeping tabs on preservations ceases to be so important, I’m gone.

That’d be a shame and loss here - and though you are correct this place does seem toxic at times - I hope you reconsider.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/23/politics/adam-schiff-trump-russia-grand-jury/

The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee is claiming that he has been presented with new information on collusion between associates of President Donald Trump and Russia that would merit a grand jury investigation.

Rep. Adam Schiff told CNN Thursday that he had seen additional evidence, but would not specify what it was.

ā€œWe continue to get new information that, I think, paints a more complete picture of at least what we know at the outset of our investigation,ā€ Schiff said.

Asked to explain his comments earlier in the week when he said there was more than just ā€œcircumstantial evidence of collusion,ā€ Schiff said, "I do think that it’s appropriate to say that it’s the kind of evidence that you would submit to a grand jury at the beginning of an investigation.

ā€œIt’s not the kind of evidence that you take to a trial jury when you’re trying to prove something beyond a reasonable doubt. But we’re at the beginning of an investigation, and given the gravity of the subject matter, I think that the evidence certainly warrants us doing a thorough investigation.ā€

If anyone can point out the bias and inaccuracy in this, feel free.

No-one will or can - as there is no bias or inaccuracy in there.

We are seemingly in an age where people and organisations are trying to present their opinion as fact possibly more than ever before - and when those same people are questioned on it they often cannot come up with facts/evidence to make their point - they generally then claim it as opinion (often under ā€˜free speech’), or deflect or obfuscate.

What’s even stranger is, like in this case, when factual reporting (literally nothing more than what someone said) is somehow painted as either opinion or a falsehood. It kind of boggles the mind.

Reminds me of how Spicey operates.

Fully agree.

It leads to questioning the mentality/intelligence of the people who say that about factual reporting - or questioning whether they are trying to erode trust in the media - and to what end and purpose (usually to attack a media outlet that may not share values or editorial stance, or perhaps feel that they doing too much of an effective job against them on other matters? etc)

It also gives a ā€˜free ride’ and diverts attention/focus away from other media that peddle lies, misinformation, hate and intolerance - that do share their ā€˜values’ etc or want/need their support…

Perhaps this is a subject you and I should not engage in discussion about. I have no qualms with you but since you are not a licensed physician (as far as I know) I take offense to your accusation of my mental status. It is a personal attack and they are against the rules.

Mentality in as in mindset, outlook or way of thinking, not ā€˜mental status’.

And the post is clearly not about you - it was about Sean ā€˜Spicey’ Spicer as previously indicated by Frink to which I was replying to.

So you need not take offense, and there is no personal attack, and no rules were gone aginst here.

Not really since this thread was about collecting international logos.

You missed a bit…

"Just a few links to some articles / videos / pictures for information and history on the Star Wars logo, titles, and fonts down the years…

(hopefully it may be of use, interest or inspiration for anyone out there 😃)"

I didn’t, I deleted it. You missed the first post which was asking vector graphics for international logos for people to use. Kind of like you posted a wall of posters on another guy’s artwork thread and many other threads.

Aye, and previously stated there’s some information on the various logos (and fonts used) in a fair few of those links, along with some related info (in my humble opinion) linked to those graphics for logos.

If you have a problem with it then ask one of the mods to remove it.

If Detola has a problem with them I’ll remove them myself.

Ā

If you are referring to me (and have a problem with me) posting Rogue One posters and promos in a thread by a user with 1 post, on here 4 months after his 1 post, in a thread titled ā€˜Rogue One Poster/Promos’, then ask one of the mods to remove it.

Ā

Can you point out to these ā€˜many other threads’ to me where I’ve posted a wall of posters not suited to that thread? (so I can take a look at them to see where I may have ā€˜gone wrong’ as it were?)

Or why, you haven’t previously said something like ā€˜hey, Jason, it may not be cool to post these pics in this particular thread because…’ ?

Little Timmy likely lacks the strength or won’t be able to overcome the fear of being confronted with the menacing presence of one of these…

^ the sound of the tape loading mechanism alone will be enough to scare the the wits out of him - let alone the power required to press one of those buttons.

No wonder we thought machines will take over the world back then… (and pretty much have done since) - it looks like a cross between a prototype Terminator and an early model Borg!

Little Timmy is probably going around telling his friends that daddy has a machine in which you load the nuclear codes into to start WW3…

šŸ˜‰

Ā

^ respect also given to Betamax (especially the top loaders) and the Philips V2000 😃

Thankfully more and more people are seeing it for what it is.

Ā

(that’s not to say news organisations shouldn’t be questioned - or challenged when reporting is substandard, slanted or untruthful/lacking in fact - we’ve likely seen some pieces which fall into one or more of these categories from most, if not all, media outlets over time)

other sci-fi franchises catered for too - the DS9 looks great as well

It’s a little odd doing it for things like DS9 which actually did come out on VHS though. šŸ˜‰

There is a part of me which wants to try and rig one of those nightlamp things up myself - think I still have a DS9 tape somewhere in a box in the loft…

The other part of me knows I’ll mess it up - and make a mess - or have forgotten about it by tomorrow 😃

I’ve absolutely never seen a VHS label featuring artwork.

Aye, I think most of the labels on my vhs tapes had a white background with some black text on about the film or tv program - sometimes it’d have a different colour logo of the film distributor on it - though to be honest I can’t remember 100%!

For some reason I think a few of the later released tapes may have had different colour labels - but not much artwork on at all

The similar Star Wars cover (from swonvideo.com), was this:-

it’s fairly colourful, though I do remember a lot of vhs covers being quite plain - or washed out - likely to have been rentals or on cheap paper maybe?

Custom American ROTS VHS cover?
Time

There is an Australian VHS cover for Revenge Of The Sith - discussed here:-

http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Star-Wars-Episode-III-VHS-Australian-release/id/49982/page/1#989404

Ā

and one for the UK cover (though it’s a hi-res of a German language cover?):-

link to image itself - https://i.imgur.com/4BGjtGi.jpg

Ā

Seems there were Swedish, Japanese and VHS covers for Episode III too.

The swedish cover…

Ā

the superb swonvideo.com site has a low res copy of the UK cover here (it may help you identify it on searches etc):-

Good luck with it 😃

Ā

edit - if you see some on the various ebays around the world, it may be worth asking if the sellers would be willing to do you a hi-res scan for you? - and maybe offer them a few $s for their troubles?

there is one on the uk ebay now if interested? - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Star-Wars-Episode-III-Revenge-of-the-Sith-Rare-Collectible-VHS-Video-Tape-/122412501609?hash=item1c805a8a69:g:UgUAAOSwsW9Y1Bed

Rogue One * Spoilers * Thread
Time

ā€˜Disney isn’t planning a Rogue One special edition’:-

You may as well quit waiting for deleted scenes now.

www.digitalspy.com/movies/star-wars/news/a824236/rogue-one-special-edition-not-happening
Ā

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be out on DVD and Blu-ray at the beginning of April, and although it will have plenty of bonus features, there won’t be any deleted scenes among them.

And if you were holding out for a second, special edition release – possibly containing some of the footage that didn’t make it into the final cut – you’re likely to be disappointed.

ā€œThere’s no plans right now,ā€ said Gareth Edwards when Digital Spy asked about possible alternate releases in the pipeline.

ā€œThat’s what I’ve heard. There’s nothing down the line, no.ā€

Ā

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – which was initially released on DVD and Blu-ray in April 2016 – also received a 3D version in October. That second release featured even more deleted scenes, as well as a director’s commentary from JJ Abrams.

Rogue One will be available in 3D from the get go, and it looks like, along with those fabled deleted scenes, it will be missing a director’s commentary.

The expectation surrounding the deleted scenes has been greater than usual due to the large amount of footage in Rogue One’s trailers that never made it into the final cut.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will arrive on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download on April 10.
