Coming from someone who has never seen or knows anything about doctor who, taken out of context this comment was hilarious and I don’t mean that in a malicious way.

No worries mate - I’m struggling to believe that someone’s shin being on show in a promo pic is being considered un-TimeLordish at all - or for that matter being talked about at all 😃

Did the Doctor ever show shin in any of his clothes in any of his incarnations?

Why do I have to wait? I know what the costume looks like from the promo pic. I’ve been watching Doctor Who since the early 80s. I think know what is and is not TimeLordish.

Did I say you have to wait? No.

not exactly, but it seemed like to me that you sort of implied that it would a be a good idea to wait.

No. I simply said that ‘I think I’ll give a whole episode a watch, maybe even a few additional episodes, before commenting that someone’s shin being seen is somehow un-TimeLordish - taken from a promo picture 😃

How you got ‘Why do I have to wait?’ and your follow-up statements from that is beyond me. Nothing implied at all.

Seems you are searching for something that just isn’t there. I’ll leave it there, for this reason.

You want to comment on her shin being ‘un-TimeLordish/un-Doctorish’^? Go right ahead.

Me? I’ll wait and watch a few episodes before passing comment or judging anything at all re the new Doctor - if that is okay with you, Warbler? (that’s a rhetorical question - so you don’t have to answer it).

^ - I can’t believe I’m responding about a shin being on show.

They really need to turn over one-sheet design to people outside the studio. That may be the best Star Wars one-sheet since the original Tom Jung. I love that it’s a take on McQuarrie’s 1976 The Star Wars.

Fully agree mate - sometimes simplicity is still best 😃

A shame there aren’t a few more retro style/based posters for the new films - a welcome nod for us… erm, older… fans… 😉

There is a studio here in Austin that does just that.
https://mondotees.com/blogs/news

Impossible to go through them all in a post, but they’ve commissioned some spectacular pieces through the years. I’ll try to find some of the Star Wars pieces and update this post.

Nice one - found some in their search bar (12 pages of related stuff) - some cracking posters and art 😃

It also reminded me of this cracking Heritage Auctions site that doubleKO found a while back - some superb old Star Wars posters in here.

Like Anchorhead, I kind of like the varied, unpredictable and wide-ranging looks that the various Doctors have adorned over the years - aye, even that stick of celery 😉

It’s my thing. I’ve been doing it for years. When I did the previous sigh, I didn’t think it would be taken so seriously.

and I explained what it meant in this post:

slightly, and was also meant in somewhat tongue in cheek

May I suggest an option of you still doing your signature ‘sigh’ - yet with an explanation / reason / opinion etc as to why underneath?

It’d likely help fellow members understand as to what you are pertaining to - without having to ask what you mean and then wait for a later explanation - or help avoid any potential misunderstandings in between.

Also, as Possessed stated earlier - it ‘may help the quality and flow of discussion’ (nice one, Possessed 😉)

Well, have you been tested mate? 😉

I have - however a most unfortunate accident left the sanity tester falling down a flight of stairs and somehow managing to dislodge the fire axe from it securing (behind some safety glass) and then falling onto it backwards with some force. Also seems a near-by fire extinguisher somehow fell onto the sanity tester’s head - repeatedly.

Apparently we’ll never know the results as a fire engulfed the testers’ car with all his files in - around the same time as the events above taking place.

A most unfortunate set of circumstances, I’m sure you agree…

Cheers, Frink - for clarity I wasn’t sure if you (and chyron) were referring to the mods here - or to your position as a mod on a different site.

The ‘hahahaha’ left it somewhat unclear - which is why we ask for some more information / reasons / opinions in posts instead of just the ‘hahahaha’ type aspect.

Just waiting for chyron’s response.

Edit - this was posted before Frink’s ‘insane’ post above.

I’m proud to have been consistently confrontational.

And yet they thought you sane enough to make you a mod over at FE apparently.

That’s uncomfortably close to a personal attack.

It is not. Mods are not generally supposed to be known for being confrontational.

Once they added in the patch that brought the “windows” back to Windows, 8 was perfectly fine.

ClassicShell was really useful for Windows 8 (having a Start Button and familiar UI Menu system / easy access to desktop screen etc) - and not at all embarrassing for those at Microsoft who said that it couldn’t be done at the time…

(I think the lad behind ClassicShell knocked it out days after the Windows 8 release too 😃)

The UK right-wing media’s calendar for next year…

International but when is it International Men’s day?

I don’t understand were the words “Women’s day” left out?

What are Halal Easter Eggs?

Insufficient Diana morning? Does that mean the right wing complains that people don’t mourn Diana enough, or that the right wingers themselves don’t mourn Diana enough?

Poppy rage?

Yes mate, they mistakenly left off the ‘Women’s Day’ from the text.

Halal eggs? http://metro.co.uk/2017/04/16/cadbury-easter-eggs-and-four-other-things-that-are-shockingly-halal-6577659/

Insufficient Diana mourning - The Express and The Mail both love a good Diana story (putting a pic of her on the front page sells copies apparently - and they use her a lot, stories, scoops, interviews with former staff and friends, conspiracy theories, diaries, trinkets etc). It’s like a ‘moral’ (financial) crusade to keep a quite one-eyed memory of her alive.

Poppy rage - people not wearing the poppy. For some reason ‘everyone’ has to wear a poppy - for the last few years it’s become an annual debate - those that do vs don’t and why, plus the intricacies of what the poppy represents (and doesn’t). Some more info here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_poppy

The right wing media laps this stuff up - cheap and easy to write, appeals to many ‘patriots’ and ‘man in the street’ types (apparently), plus a chance to denigrate it’s opponents or critics. It’s a circle of never ending complaining from them.

For some context for the non-IT Crowd fans - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxIUs-pQBjk

I think this is that kind of British humor that Americans just don’t get. (I know I don’t get it)

I’d disagree with that a bit mate - in that some people may find that kind of humour funny, or ‘get it’, wherever they are from. Likewise, some people - wherever they are from - may not.
