I think I’m supposed to like this movie? It feels like they were trying really hard to make me like this but I spent most of the running time being only very gently amused and tutting whenever Rebel Wilson was onscreen. Maybe I’m from the wrong culture or social class but I just didn’t get it. Bit of a shame as it’s a good idea - 3 out of 10.
I have not seen this - or know much about it - yet somehow… I can’t get the thought out of my head that this is a Hollywood version of ‘Brassed Off’. Y’know… some studio exec thought ‘that did well with the critics and made money’ - let’s do ‘our’ version of it - and then changed somewhat in the process along the way…
(damn the aging cynic in me - it has been 22 years afterall 😉)
Sod it - I’m off to watch Brassed Off - it has Pete Postlethwaite in it, whereas Pitch Perfect does not…

Apparently someone is selling Harmy’s Despecialized versions at Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con.
$30 a piece
Just my personal opinion…
Bloody hell - just look at it - it is missing the right side of the cover sleeve - and the bottom bit too. Looks like cheap letter-quality paper too (wrapped in a brand new cellophane wrapper)- and I’ll go on a limb to suggest as if the quality of the cover is representative of the quality inside that case - then for $30 anyone who has bought that has been ripped off.
Likely a poor quality blu ray disc & case too - and probably also a poor / substandard quality rip - much like those who by *** and are on ebay etc…
…and nothing like the quality of the actual Despecialised Editions linked to on here - available for free, with just a little effort…

Someone asked me something interesting regarding what official releases need to be owned before getting the Despecialized Editions.
Apparently, some countries like Hong Kong and the Philippines had DVD-only versions of the 2011 Special Editions which were the basis for the Despecialized Editions.
She asked me if one is legally allowed to download the Despecialized Editions if she owns the 2011 Special Editions on DVD but not Blu-ray.
And if so, is she allowed to download any version or just the DVD5 version?And, if she bought the digital releases but only in SD, is she allowed to download any version of the Despecialized Edition or only the DVD5 version?
Please give me answers for my friend who wants to dip into the Despecialized Editions.
Your friend is seemingly mistaken - the blu rays of the Original Trilogy are available in Hong Kong, and other places across Asia. There is also a regional version with Traditional Chinese, Korean, Thai subtitles:-

and are also available on many ebay / online market type places too - considerably cheaper…
A quick look at ‘The Ultimate Introductory Guide’ (Section 1: Introduction) - states…
‘Remember, as with any fan edit, YOU MAY ONLY DOWNLOAD THIS PROJECT IF YOU ARE A LEGAL OWNER OF THE OFFICIAL SOURCE. For Harmy’s DE project, this means YOU MUST OWN AN OFFICIAL HD RELEASE for each respective film (i.e. Star Wars Episodes IV, V, & VI), such as the official Blu-ray Disks or digital purchase.’

A thing on timelines here: The two main storylines in TLJ start at different times. The escape storyline starts a week after the events of TFA; the Ach-To storyline happens immediately after the events of TFA.
The bomber: People complained about how the bomber thing was unrealistic because there’s no gravity in space. That pedantry is inaccurate. The bombs fell due to the gravitational force of the Star Destroyer underneath the bomber. This is the same reason that Star Destroyer falls into the Death Star in ROTJ.
I read in the visual dictionary that the bombs used magnetic tech as well.
I think it may be this one?:-

Aye, for me some of the writing doesn’t quite scan/match the pop sounds on it - though that could just be the 90’s for you 😉 (or the producers/label ‘popping’ it up more)
A few of the songs on it performed acoustically or live seem a lot better than on the album - though could be just my taste…
