STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Hate to point out stuff, but I may as well…

If there is one thing that threw me off, it’s that Wedge’s speeder, while circling the AT-AT, still doesn’t always have a shadow. In his first turn around the legs you see one, including a shadow for the cable, but after that his shadow disappears entirely.

Small nitpick but Vader’s lightsaber striking the floor in the duel still doesn’t sound like what a lightsaber sounds like when it hits other surfaces like walls and such. The added flash looked great though!

I’ve watched it three times already, and just can’t get enough!!!

Ady,

Thank you for your time and effort in bringing this edit to life. I’m fully aware of the amount of time it took to make it possible, and the hundreds or more of complaints from many of us over how long it was taking. All that is behind you and the grateful and ungrateful alike can happily watch it and be in awe.

Having now watched it, I can say how glad I am for avoiding the clips released over the last 4-5 years and just letting it all be new to me. Damnit I couldn’t be more impressed! Bravo on what you have achieved, and you have certainly raised the bar on what a fanedit can be. Return of the Jedi has a LOT to live up to, I would say!

Again, thank you. I look forward to the blu-ray special features!

ANH:R is the ONLY version of the film I will watch.

I am EAGERLY looking forward to having ESB:R being the ONLY version I wish to watch.

And I saw both of them in the theaters when they were released in '77 and '80. Saw ANH on July 3rd 77 and the very first noon showing on May 21st 1980. Been to every first showing since.

Thanks for recreating the look, excitement and hype Ady!

I’m totally with this guy. The only version I show to people I know who haven’t seen it, or want to see it again after not seeing it in years, is ANH:R. And the first theatrical film I was brought to was Empire in 1980. I was 4 and remember a lot of it. My second theatrical movie was “Popeye” with Robin Williams in December of that year and I’m still waiting for Adywan to make Popeye: Revisited. 😕

Well, if we’re gonna start hoping for childhood films to get the Revisited treatment, I’ll throw Aliens into the hat for consideration! Saw it at age 5 in the cinema, and as far as I know, it was the first movie I saw that way.

But anyway… I’m waiting on Ronster to drop a mind-blowing last second suggestion that will stop the countdown and make Ady go back to the drawing board like Wile E. Coyote!

PUBLIC SERVICE COMMENT: Since Adywan didn’t set a date, but a month… we should all assume the date is June 30th. Then we can all be surprised if it hits earlier. 😃

Do I dare comply with this logical post and practice that thing called patience, as opposed to doing what others have done and react with an incredible amount of self-centered privilege and entitlement???

Tune in June 30th or maybe sooner for… no. I’m just gonna wait, nothing more, nothing less. 😃

I haven’t posted here in ages it seems like. How the hell is everyone? Glad to see ESB:R is still in the cards and might even be nearing release soon-ish!

So, is there still going to be a list of names added to the end credits? If I’m not mistaken, I tried and successfully made the list, but I can never be too sure.

She was in ROTS played by the same actress wearing different clothes.

The prequel trilogy is stupid.

Again, I suppose there’s some “logical” explanation why Mon Mothma does not appear at the Death Star attack run briefing, does not appear as the attack on the Death Star is unfolding, does not appear at the medal ceremony, does not appear anywhere on Hoth…

But now, hey! She’s hanging out in a leadership role in the Rebel alliance in a movie scene that predates the 1977 movie.

Disney did not waste any money on continuity experts.

Maybe she leaves to Coruscant after the battle. Maybe she’s requested for an emergency session of the Imperial Senate where some good old Emperor decides that due to the Empire being attacked it is about time to dissolve the Congress. Maybe.

But that’s just what I would have done to solve the continuity issue. Perhaps they just do not care.

Disney/Lucasfilm and Star Wars. Not to be confused with Fox and X-Men.

I can’t help but feel like adding the bunk is a change for the sake of change. Like the Jedi Rocks number. There’s nothing wrong with assuming that there were a few changes made to the Falcon in the 31 years between Episodes V and VII.

I don’t really think it’s fair to compare a background bunk that most people won’t notice to something like Jedi Rocks, which replaced almost an entire scene with CGI and a new song.

The Falcon gets a makeover…

I was wondering if the lights would be changed or not. I grew up with ESB more than ANH so I preferred the blue lights more, but since seeing TFA, I was starting to hope ESB would get green lights to stay consistent between the 3 films that show the Falcon’s hallways. Looks nice, Ady!

^Yeah, I’ve thought the same thing. None of the plans he’s announced contradict anything from TFA, but, we don’t know everything he has planned.

Actually, a BIG change he was planning on making was having Lando and the Falcon not making it out of the Death Star before it explodes. I believe Adywan said he wanted to give more weight to the scene in the Rebel hanger on Home One where Han believes he’ll never see the Falcon again after he loans it to Lando for the battle.

I’ve never had a problem with any of Adywan’s decisions he’s made in his revisions to this point, except this one. I don’t like it at all. I hope very much he has reconsidered.

Pretty sure that was revealed to just be a joke, and everyone just took it as gospel.

Well , today , work on the practical side of things for ESB:R has ceased until the new year.

The models in the photos i just posted are 99% completed. Just a few more minor detailing to add, including the Millennium Falcon’s ramp, and they are ready for filming.

The Han in Carbonite is also now completed. But filming will now have to wait until the new year as it’s now stored in my workroom while we get everything ready for Christmas.

So , in the new year, i will just need to finish building the Falcon hangar miniature set and shoot it, shoot the transport hangar set, shoot the Han in Carbonite prop and then add them all into the film. Once they are out of the way, the only thing left to make and film will be the Wampa. The audio , i have already started on , and is about 75% completed.

With TFA and Christmas right around the corner, i won’t be posting a preview clip this Christmas. To be honest, i’ve probably showed too much already. But the main reason is that i just won’t have the time to do anything. I just want to forget about Revisited until the new Year and concentrate on spending time with my family ( and going to see TFA of course 😉 )

So, as i probably won’t be around much from now until the new year, we would like to wish you all , from the entire Revisited team, a very Merry Christmas ( or whatever holiday you may be celebrating) and a Happy New Year…

See you in 2016

I would have posted all the pictures directly here, but this editor is a nightmare to use for me, especially with not being able to resize pictures, add links embedded in the pics to see them full size, have links open in a separate tab/ window etc, so here is the link to the facebook photo album:

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and yours! Looking forward to 2016 for sure!

Adywan will be painting his own official cover art, as he did with A New Hope, I believe.

Due to one of the health problems i have, it is now impossible for me to paint any more of the covers for Revisited. Unfortunately drawing and painting is something i have had to accept that i will probably never be able to do again

I’m very sorry to hear about this. I hope it won’t restrict any other talents or your well-being.

Not that anyone cares, but I'm hoping to start reviewing more of the Team blu releases in December or early 2016. We've had several great releases this year so I have my work cut out for me, but hopefully I can knock a few out in the coming months.

lol I don't think anyone does, we get next to no comments at all from all the sites I post at, this is why my posts with info and such have dropped dramatically, no point it spending all that time in presentation when no one reads it or comments anyways lol.

But I do read your reviews and I am glad you actually send all of them to me, so thank you very much for that!

I was never able to post comments over at the horrordvd forums. Anytime I tried to post comments on various threads, they would never be added. That got irritating real quick, so I gave up on that site altogether. I was following the NOTLD 68 thread there though.

This isn't my creation, it was given to me by another forum member "jsonthegreat" from Blu-ray.com shortly after the release of the collection.

The reason for the 2 separate sources (one DVD & One Blu Ray) is that one eye is from the dvd (I can't remember which, but let's call it the left) and one from the Blu Ray (Let's call it the Right). The reason is that when 3D is filmed with a dual camera setup 2 separate perspectives are created and For whatever reason, the DVD used the Left eye perspective, while the Blu Ray used the right eye perspective. The fact that both perspectives were available meant they could be assembled into a fully functioning Real 3d image, and not just one that was post processed into 3D.

Again, I didn't do any of the work myself, so I can't go into specifics beyond what I've said as I really don't know much more but from what I was told, the DVD was scaled and synced with the Blu Ray release.

I'm unaware if this was ever released publicly on any sites or newsgroups. The creator was banned from the forum shortly after talking about it, and I haven't seen him since. I was fortunate enough to be one of the few folks that got a copy prior to him getting the boot, so I really don't know how many other people have copies.

I'd be happy to share for those interested but need to find a viable method for sharing. I may try the sendspace multiple link route that TeamBlu has used in the past, as I don't want to permanently host a torrent, nor am I really interested in mailing out copies. With that said, I'll look into what other options I have, and see if I can't get this hosted somewhere.

One solution may be for interested parties to create their own mega.co.nz accounts as I believe I could transfer the files to new accounts from my my account without it counting towards individual bandwidth limits, but I'm not sure on that. The file is 11GB in size. I've used my Plex media server to stream it previously myself though I have a copy burned to bd-r as well. Ideally, someone would be interested in taking this and turning it into a full release with menu and extra's and possibly the 2D version all on a BD-50, but for now that's wishful thinking.

I'm one of the other lucky few that manged to get a copy before he stopped posting there. We actually exchanged pm's about the project. I gave him some thoughts I had on the transfer, along with some timecodes of when there are glitches and errors. He replied back that he was planning on tweaking the final version but he never posted it to my knowledge.

I watched it on my 3D tv, and it was indeed spectacular. Keep in mind that it is flawed though. One of the sources was the DVD and the DVD has a different color palette to it than the blu-ray. So the right and left eye each see a different master with different coloring and brightness. When seen together your eyes merge them together fairly seamlessly for the most part. That also means the DVD side has less sharpness and resolution due to it being sourced from DVD.

A bigger issue is that a fair amount of footage in this fan release is in 2D, not 3D. For whatever reason, many of the shots use the same eye in both the DVD and blu-ray - which means that throught the 3D presentation, it will randomly switch to 2D, then back to 3D in the following shot. The glasses of course will remain active - but the image itself will be flat. Thankfully most of the 3D gimmick shots are preserved wonderfully in full 3D, but a couple gimmick shots that stick out of the screen are sadly in 2D. Most of the shots in 2D are quick - the majority of the film is still in amazing 3D - but there are a fair number of shots - some just a few seconds, some longer - that aren't in 3D.

It's still the best 3D presentation you are likely to see of this movie, ever, until Paramount or Warner decides to release this properly in 3D.

I appreciate the info and I'm glad someone else has gotten to appreciate his work. With that said, I've nearly gotten the full file uploaded on mega.co.nz so I'll be testing my theory shortly on whether I can share with other mega users or not.

Please share soon!

I'd be very interested in this as well. I have heard of some of these floating around, but I haven't been able to find them...

Hey, wait a second... I wasn't banned :-P

Yes, I did put together a 1080p 3D Side-by-Side mkv file of Friday the 13th 3D utilizing Adobe Premiere and available source elements (The UK Blu-Ray, and the Ultimate Edition DVD). It was going good and I created the first version of this for beta testing and sent it to a few users on blu-ray.com.

Then lightning struck. Literally. My house was hit by a lightning strike which fried my computer AND my backup drive. In addition to many personal photos and design projects, I lost the source files and the premiere files for this project. After that, I disappeared from the forums and sulked for a while. But, recently, I was able to recover the mkv file from an external drive I had put it on when I was testing it on my television.

I'm still trying to decide what to do with it... perhaps I will upload it somewhere and try and fix any problems in it that are noticed.

Man, sorry to hear about the lightning. Even with backups, that wouldn't matter much. Lightning would just fry it all!

Well, I for one, am still highly interested in a fixed 3D version of Friday the 13th 3. I have the file and have watched it a few times. When it works, it's mindblowing how good it is, as the 3D is even better than a lot of official 3D movies. When it doesn't work, it ghosts terribly and just hurts the eyes to look at. It's still my preferred version to watch though, and will definitely be seen at least once this month, since it's October and all.

I'm not too sure if i am remembering correctly, but did someone manage to do a soundbite with the Emperor saying "Luke Skywalker" ?

This is when all those off-topic posts really add up to be a serious pain. Someone did create a nice sounding "Luke" from the "A Musical Journey" bonus DVD that came with the ROTS soundtrack, but I don't remember who that was either. Unfortunately it will require a bit of a search unless that person still is active in the forum.
