Or even more oddness could be gleamed from sampling the words of your trailer from words spoken in the project (sort of like the audio version of a blackmail note made out of pasted magazine print).

Phunnie that you mention an idea of such note. As part of an online Media Collective called Snuggles, a project called Dictionaraoke was created. The goal was to recreate songs using the words (spoken correctly) by online dictionaries. (Webster, Encarta, etc.)

http://www.dictionaraoke.org

and after getting tired of recreating songs, I recreated the Opening Crawl of SW:

Great idea, Bingowings.

The Order 725 (see above) proclamation is proceeding... In the same convoluted fashion as the rest of this monstrocity.

Admonished at TFn (http://boards.theforce.net/fan_films_fan_audio_scifi_3d_forum/b10015/30226744/p1/?3

Locked at G4 (http://forums.g4tv.com/showthread.php?t=129408

...hope someone takes up the cause. It's 'good' you know.

So with that: "Who wants to be my DVD mule for SDCC?" (San Diego Comic-Con)

I'll send a couple copies (5-10) to any address, and whomever gives them to whomever at SDCC.

Will you be my DVD mule for SDCC?

help_making 3d character models

Might want to move this post to the 'General Star Wars Discussion' forum. When you've got all your raw models and texture material ready and have some minutes produced then a 'Fan Edit' thread would be benefittial.

Also posting some work you've completed would give everyone a sense of what your up to. Might want to look through images.google.com for the reference material you seek. Build two characters, set up a scene and render it. Might want to check out the models built by other people, TF.n used to have a section for meshes of SW vehicles.

http://www.starwarsuncut.com/

Hello! You and 472 other people have the chance to recreate Star Wars: A New Hope. Below is the entire movie split up into 15 second clips. Click on one of the scenes to claim it, film it, and upload it. You can have up to three scenes! When we’re all done, we’ll stitch it all together and watch the magic happen.

Clips are being reserved and completed, if you want to take part the web site says there will be clips opening up periodically and some other opportunities might arise.

Note: this seems to be a project sponsored by/for the hosting company…

Help Wanted: Project To Collect All Star Wars Documentaries

Can someone please find colon close parenthesis and punch them in the interrobang.  Oh Google.ca will do what I want, i've always used Google.com.  Boy do I look foolish now.  I was asking for experience from this users in this forum.  For I forsee a day (last week actually) where people interested would move HD's full of info, not just a trrnt or two.  But to plow through that info, tools are necessary.  But I abused yr suggestion (using a search term i can up with all by myself! wheee) http://www.easyduplicatefinder.com/  or  http://www.soft32.com/download_205418.html

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 <strong>REVISITED</strong> ADYWAN *<em>1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION</em>
Time

Thanks ChainsawAsh didn't realize the 1080p/AVCHD were not Revisited projects, that helps clarify things.  Ok so the Version 2's  are the ones with the amended titles.

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" [NTSC] (this got *Repacked* to fix a playability issue)

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" [PAL, DL]

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" [PAL] (this got *Real Propered* because of an error)

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" [Xvid]

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope "Revisited" PURIST Edition [DVD-5] (was this ever released in PAL?)

I'm not upto speed on all the versions of this... i'd like to say project but it's more of an experience.  There's Xvids, DVD5 & 9 in PAL and NTSC, 1080p BDMV, 1080p mkv, AVCHD, Colour Correcteds, Purist Editions, Real Propers, Repacks, ?, ???!... is there a matrix or guide to make sense of/comprehend what's been accomplished and when released?

Thanks for the comments. Will gladly replace the trailer voice when another version can be created. But had to work within a limitation and time frame. Had problems recording the dialog, tried it in a garage one morning, but a crow kept chiming in as I approached the last few words of most of the takes. Ended up using takes from a one a.m. recording and some others... I wasn't happy with the opening line, which is partly why it got drowned out by the stretched horn. This world is only media saturated for a minority. (if the concept is even possible) didn't figure out something better so left it in/behind. Curious to see if people pay attention to the 'quote' even though there's no direct audio mentioning it.

Order 725

The Plea:
Help promote alternative/independent Star Wars fan film / fan edit / fan video / fan media culture.

The Play:
Get the logo of your favorite Atom Film failing Star Wars fan film / fan edit / fan video / fan media (which 'Thee Backslacpkping With Media is one) into the G4 coverage of Star Wars San Diego Comic-Con Spectacular.

The Ploy:
Print out the logo and figure out a creative way to get the logo on screen. Paste it to a column, tape it on someone's back or just wave it like a maniac. (at an appropriate time)

The Not:
This declaration/action is not about upstaging the event, so sticking the logo on the camera is not helpful. The idea is to gain a wider public awareness of films which were not included.

Success can be viewed in different forms. 1. Longevity, 2. Location, 3. Size when on screen.

So bring a logo, and 'do what must be done'.

Worked through the kinks, the below mp4 has the same compression aspects as the rest of the onsite media:

http://www.noneinc.com/tBSWM/tBSWM-Video-ArchiveOrg/Thee_Backslacpkping_With_Media-Chap_00a_512kb.mp4

(below copy is slightly larger - working on the HD version)

http://www.noneinc.com/tBSWM/tBSWM_Misc/tBSWM-Composite-Self/ReadMe.html

The above version of the trailer was created from quicktime's export function.  If the .mov doesn't load, at the bottom is a link to the .m4v file.  (This is a temporary fix until I can isolate what is causing the Archive.org derivatives function to insert repeat frames.  Must have something to do with editing/compositing this trailerr in quicktime, the results are not play well with other programs)

Ripplin : no plans for a version 2.  My tinnitus hearing doesn't find the audio variations that jarring, but I have also never seen tBSWM on a tv.  The audio is probably poor on maybe 10-15 clips out of 1,666.

I'll add to the kudos. Great book. Puts together all the pieces of how the technology we commonly use today came about. I vaguely remembered seeing the "This image is fake" picture of a couple pool balls hitting each other from 1984. But hadn't thought much about it at the time (being a kid who could barely 'print screen goto 10'), but reading how all these people collaborated to get to create that one image and where we are now, this book puts everything together.

Plus he's a nice guy, he gave a lecture when promoting the book and stuck around to answer questions after. If you can get to see him talk, it's a good time.

((((move to couple posts below: several deleted links to bad versions of the trailer))))

...sigh... again not sure if it's helpful. Considering letting the clips run another 10+ seconds and add in some additional voice over, like "i'm not sure how to explain this thing, please consider reading the chapter titles and if one sounds interesting try it out." ...the beginning idea stayed more or less intact, the ending morphed when I remembered the quote, but reading teh quote and flipping between the tv audio and the voice over (teh meeegah sux), might be a little much.

Comments welcomed.
