Fairly certain I got that one from youtube. But having problems relocating, need to go back to an archive.
While we wait here's the german ESB trailer from a Super 8:
Here are two threads which have trailer lists/descriptions:
http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/lt-The-Star-Wars-Trailers-Project-gt/topic/5649/
The second one has a 'File Name' category, so if you think the one you are looking for matches then it can be supplied.
I didn't know the differences in who made the trailers. Why would both companies make trailers at the same time? The description of the trailer you are looking for matches the 78 re-release until you mention the lack of Williams soundtrack.
There are a bunch of people familiar with the trailers, they'll hopefully chime in.

No was a quick check. This may deserve it's own thread. Good trivia material, but would need to gather shots to confirm Mielr's statement of them being unused. Would make sense, why cut out the shot from the negative when you can use a different takes negative. Then would you include material shot during the production of one film only to be used in a later film. (Obi delivering Luke for example)

Was it that many?
I recall this one:
with some adjacent shots, but I may be wrong...
If the goal is to find exact matches then this maybe only one or two shots, but most of the sequence was probably shot during SW but they manipulated things for RotJ. For example the above shot is flipped for RotJ and the SFX are different.
One shot which could be exact would be of the Imperial Gunner who reaches up to push some buttons. There are grey dials in the background on the right. Actually both Imperial Gunner reaching up shots could be duplicates. But in the 2004 versions the contrast is different, illuminating the gunner's head insignia more for RotJ. EDIT Upon closer inspection, it's a different take the 'grey dial' shot, the Imperial in the background in RotJ plays with the dials in SW they don't.
A shot which is close and could be either an alternative angle, is the hand which pushes one of the mostly green lights. In SW the buttons are horizontal with the shot, while in RotJ the panels is on an angle.

Not what you are looking for but a reuse of RotJ into the ESB:SE.

Darth Vader lands in the Death Star docking bay with Luke, taking him to the Emperor. This scene was reused in The Empire Strikes Back Special Edition as Vader returns to the Executor. Although Luke cannot be seen, Moff Jerjerrod can be seen mouthing his lines from Return of the Jedi.
Returning to the topic of how many IB tech prints were created. Do we know if all these prints were English audio? Every year new countries were getting the movie, would some of those countries have been given IB prints? Was the re-release only for the US/UK?
dlvh wrote: Do you have any clue as to how many, of the movie houses/theaters showed the Technicolor print, versus the non Technicolor print?
According to: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekly&id=starwars4.htm
At it's peak, Aug 19-25 1977, SW was in 1,094 theaters. [non-Technicolor] The 82 re-release was also in close to 1,100 theaters. The Technicolor estimates have been between 200-300.
Also were there US created IB Tech prints, but it's generally acknowledged that only the UK ones made it into collector's hands?
The Star Wars Storyboards: The Prequel Trilogy book came out last week:

So far it's great. (part way thru TPM) The illustrations are amazing and there are good insights here and there and for fans of the process which went into these films, there are plenty of cut material or alternative interpretations.
For example in the introduction, Rinzler mentions how the script once had the names of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon flipped so that at the end of the film, Qui-Gon would have taken on Obi-Wan's name. But with the parallel's to the Queen's alter-ego this was reconsidered.
Many of the artists provided blurbs which help explain a side of the storyboards which they don't display. Jar-Jar is more highly animated and the artists explain why that initial direction was given and then how the reality of on screen creation, took some of those characteristics away. The insights on Jar-Jar for me provide the fodder for a TPM SE where Jar-Jar could be re-imagined as Mos Eisley was in the SE. The prequel generation will probably have the cgi tools to fan edit the early Jar-Jar.
Surprisingly the AotC Mace-Reek fight which leaked when they were filming is not included. Have a feeling that many prequel storyboards (which aren't final film scenes) are in the hands of collectors. At the last Celebration there was a set of many, 30 pages or so, of quick ideas for the AotC final battle. Single page, short sequences where the artists were given the ability to propose anything. Those are not in this book either. Rinzler explains that much of AotC and RotS wasn't storyboards as pre-viz techniques started to take priority in the conceptualization process.
Great to read more of the thoughts of the people involved in the making of the films. Rinzler guides you through but the people who did the work are given the chance to speak and that's great.
Plus the artistry to so great. If you can get lost in line work, this is your kind of book. Each artists has their own style and with all these boards presented i'm sure someone will figure out some new insights.

I looked at some of the things I didn't gt a chance to do during the films that I thought I could finally complete, and I signed up for it. It was really quite a pleasure. These are a few of my favorite paintings from that book.
