STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **
Time

We’re all crazy here.

We just don’t show it here.

That’s the unspoken rule.

The second unspoken rule is that if you feel like a victim from 2 or more people, you’re probably being taught something. Take the time. Figure out what it is.

(Unspoken rules tend to be difficult for ocd, adhd, etc. because there is nothing finite about whether it’s a rule or not. Just assume it is.)

To be fair, I think that Kevin Smith Pre-marijuana did have a reasonable amount of artistic vision, and preserving the film as intended to be viewed might provide more benefits than expected. Ignoring all other aspects, the film includes so many actors/actresses that deserve to have their film history memorialized for their impact on our culture that the intersect should boost the importance of the film, despite its low position on the priority list of preserving films for each individual actor or actress.

I can’t be the only one slightly confused on how to comment on this thread in a way to actually further discussion. I think a lot of people were hoping to see a little bit more of a community involvement once the RotJ Thread was opened, similar to how the original Revisited was, as well as early stages of Empire. The difference is that the people that can actively help Ady already are if he’d like their help, and I get the feeling Ady finds these days that its easier to bounce ideas off of that team than to open it up to the masses. He also moves at a much faster pace and with far more honed skills. With as advanced in his techniques as he is, what used to seem a “breakthrough” that he would share with us is now an everyday thing not worth mentioning (to him, the rest of us would love to know, but it would make the project drag on forever). I miss feeling as involved, but I completely understand why. I just don’t know how to move the thread forward, and see a lot of other people seemingly in the same bind - Beyond donating, what can those of us not directly involved do to help? Is there a complete errors list that could be checked against?

Who? Snoke probably. But an angle from afar that leaves their height ambiguous could potentially have it be Luke too.
What and why? I just enjoy the concept of ending with Vader’s castle. It’s both commemorating the end of Anakin Skywalker’s story, and giving us a small amount of foreshadowing that he could still have influence on the future of Star Wars.

I don’t read books at all

Weird thing to brag about. Or even mention.

Weird thing to take issue with. The explanation of “I don’t read books” was just an explanation of why they, as a Star Wars fan, haven’t read any Star Wars books.

Info Wanted: for my Star Wars Collectors Edition
Time

Hey, welcome to the Forum. Take a look around for a bit - you’ll find many new members have attempted to start similar projects. Perhaps someone is already doing what you’re looking for. The job may seem easy going in, but creating a truly unique new fan release that is very difficult to do considering the quality of work being done by various members here.

Otherwise, Good Luck.

*Hint: Asking for help in the first post, without laying out details of EXACTLY what you’d like to do, what you plan to include so far, etc. is unlikely to get your project much attention. Usually, members here judge whether to follow a project based on their belief that you are putting a lot of effort into it. So far you’ve shown only that you know the years in which the most prominently-changed "updates’ of Star Wars were released.

The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **
Time

The galaxy isn’t able to be saved. It is a living breathing entity, constantly changing. The Jedi attempt to “Domesticate” the Force, the Sith like to “let it run free” (when they’re not hiding it, thus why their force powers are so cabin fevery).

Rey is balance. Rey shapes the force to her will only when necessary - there is no need for her to try and control or trap the Force. She has spent years alone, literally watching the world pass her by. Finally, she has reaches out and finds the Force available to grab ahold of. She keeps grabbing on, seeing how much further forward the force will pull her. Eventually she’ll feel safe enough to never let go.

Imagine that the Force is a treadmill. Jedi walk at slow speeds for the longest durations. Sith turn up the speed as high as they can, until they can barely keep up or get thrown off. Rey just uses the last speed it was set at every time, and keeps up with it. Ultimately, it’s about learning to control yourself versus learning to control your surroundings (for good or evil). For Luke to become her true teacher, he had to understand those things first. TLJ is the story of Luke learning that. In that moment of understanding, he grabbed onto the force with the purity and ease that Rey does. His body couldn’t handle that - only hers can.

Or that’s kinda the alignment perception I got from the film.

The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **
Time

We’re all pretending the OT was all planned out at the beginning.

Honestly, TLJ going a completely different direction because it wasn’t planned out ahead of time is exactly what we got in Vader being Luke’s father, and Leia being his sister. The PT suffered from a lackluster continuity which was planned from the start - sure it was tweaked, but the story idea was there already.

Empire gave us a shocking ending, RotJ tried to match and failed. The prequels didn’t need to shock us the same way because we already knew the eventual outcome. Rogue One did great at offering a shocking ending, as well as a nice segway.

TFA attempted a different kind of shock ending, which was the cliffhanger with no payoff. While unexpected, it again failed to reach the originality level of ESB.

TLJ… succeeded in surprising us and telling a story in a different (very chaotic) way. As a single film, I can enjoy the frantic flow. Hopefully the next film won’t fall into the pitfall of RotJ and base itself on that same theme as a wow factor though, because i could never enjoy another film with this storytelling style.

He’s sitting on THE Jedi rock. I imagine that single place lets your project yourself. I will say though, I was disappointed in how they handled Luke’s wardrobe and hair. He needed to stay Hermit-like on Ach-To, and fight Ben in his Master outfit. I REALLY hated the split cloak. It made certain scenes confusing. Originally I thought the Tree fire was in the past.

Also, anyone have a problem with Yoda’s stumpy right ear?

NSP/OT - NightStalkerPoet's Original Trilogy Project (V2) SW now High Bitrate
Time

NSP/OT (NightStalkerPoet’s Original Trilogy)

*See April 1, 2025 post for information on V2.

These releases are my personal favorite mix-and-match versions of the Star Wars Original Trilogy. With so many options available, I’ve often found myself jumping from release to release, looking for my own personal “holy grail” viewing experience. Oddly, I’ve found this arrangement to have the most rewatch value for me.

Star Wars
Opening Titles/Crawl/Flyover: Despecialized 2.7 ANH Crawl (Harmy and Towne32)
Main Video Source: JawsTDS Return of the GOUT
Audio Source: Hal9000’s Special Edition Sourced Theatrical Audio (256kbps AC3 Stereo)

*I chose the stereo AC3 for these because the other options from Hal, while sounding amazing, were too pristine sounding when accompanying the GOUT sourced video.

*I replaced the crawls with Despecialized for better reading clarity.

The Empire Strikes Back
Opening Titles/Crawl/Flyover: ESB Despecialized 2.0 (Harmy)
Main Video Source: JawsTDS Return of the GOUT
Audio Source: Hal9000’s Special Edition Sourced Theatrical Audio (256kbps AC3 Stereo) - Custom Version

Return of the Jedi
Opening Titles/Crawl/Flyover: RotJ Despecialized 2.5 (Harmy)
Main Video Source: JawsTDS Return of the GOUT + Small Color Correction
Audio Source: Schorman’s Audio Archive 93 Mix, NSP Encode (256kbps AC3 Stereo)

I said a while ago that the Blu_ray/ DVD versions won’t be available until mid next year at the earliest

Thanks, I obviously completely missed that!

Why waiting that long by the way ? I understand that making a full bluray with menu and features takes time, but if the fanedit already exists in high quality I fail to understand why a mkv of the ucompressed version of the edit is postoned to next summer.

The mkv is already out there. I’m not sure what you are referring to here

I think he’s requesting a second MKV be released that matches the bit rate you plan to use on the Bluray.

Otherwise, he’s requesting what we’re all secretly craving, a lossless 10-bit x265 encoded mkv that is an exact representation of what’s on your computer as a finished project, complete with the audio in LPCM. Then everyone can customize/reencode the file on their computer on their own time to fit their target device or media.

I think he is a she, and if you think I’m gonna complete that ROTS quote,

Actually, it’s an AOTC quote.

Exactly.

I’m pretty sure this is the moment for that signal Obi-Wan does stroking his mustache.
