Off topic:

(hopefully released to the public)..

http://grail.cs.washington.edu/projects/videoenhancement/videoEnhancement.htm

especially the end part, where they remove the pole from the video..

you can do very cool effects with it, such as removing objects (*COUGH, JAR-JAR,*COUGH)

The average person can't tell the difference, and anyone who could tell the difference isn't buying their TV at Sears in the first place.

if there was a salesperson there that knew what they were selling,

and the TV's were bigger than 30 inches, YOU CAN DEFINITELY TELL THE DIFFERENCE...

are you kidding me, if you can't see it, then there is something wrong?

also SEARS is one of the biggest retailers (still) of household goods, and people still

buy their TV's from there..

my point is, if you're going to show off something in High Definition on a TV made

for that purpose, it's better to show them something from a High Definition source,

and compare it to regular TV.... i think a good salesperson would be able to use

that to  their advantage..

I work at a Sears in the suburbs of Chicago and I just wanted to let you guys know that I have placed Adywan's Ep IV on all of the HD TV's and the response is overwhelming. There are tons of people who stand there and watch with a puzzled looked with how good everything looks. There was even one guy who asked if this was another re release.

too bad you're using a low resolution source for the HDTVs... you should wait for the much better, and higher quality High definition versions from Adywan (about to be released), or wookiegroomers 13gig

versions...

this DVD is not going to look that great on those HDTV's..

The 2008 '<strong>The Clone Wars</strong>' animated theatrical movie - a general discussion thread
Time

well for me its:

1 a new hope

2 revenge of the sith

3 empire strikes back

4 return of the jedi

5 attack of the clones

6 the phantom menace

7 the clone wars*

*- but can you really count 'clone wars' with these? it wasn't meant to match the budget,

the style, or the usual things that one associates with a major star wars movie, if you

compare it the other releases of the same type, (ie. the tv shows), for me it ranks

much higher than the cartoon network 2d series..............

The 2008 '<strong>The Clone Wars</strong>' animated theatrical movie - a general discussion thread
Time

i went and saw it by myself, just came back...

and i did enjoy it,

i didn't expect a lot either, but it wasn't terrible...

it was cool seeing there were a lot of nods to fans of ANH (you'll know

the references when you see them)..

there was a lot of action / killing / violence, (and not just robots), so

if you think thats for kids, well good for you !!!! (sheesh)

don't take this movie too seriously, but there were a ton of classic moments

in there that all star wars fans can enjoy..

i'm still on my streak of seeing every 'star wars' movie in the theater (ok, i didn't

see ANH on opening day)....but ever since 77, its been awhile......

and for all you of sitting at home passing over this, just wait until it comes out

on TV, and watch it then......that way, your neighbors and friends won't know

about it (ha ha!!)...................

good job Lucas, keep it coming.......can't wait for the series to start..

So if any one has a guide on any of the above i would love links or anything helpfull,i am going to be devoting ALOT more time than i used to to these projects, plus i have learned alot more from alot of very helpful peeps here, not much help at doom9 though all they reply is "search"
the title of this would be:
Star Wars Japanese Special Collection Trilogy : Jap-Less Edition
i also want to give credit to Boba Feta, because he is actually the first one to bring this idea up to me
i may also re-do some of my other releases,i done know
sorry for the rambling
DJ

anyone know if the japanese set was ever transferred?

i have been in the process of collecting all the laserdisc versions (not-PAL),

and have that set also....

it would be interesting to put all of them together..

Nobody will go see a cgi crapfest starring Shia.

Hopefully Harrison Has the common sense to turn this turd down.

Indiana IV already ruined the franchise, it is not like they cannot do worse.

a long time ago... the young indiana jones tv series saved..

and indiana IV was still better than TOD and TLC...

I am not looking forward to this at all. The series ended for me after T2 with no need for further sequels and as far as I am conerned the first two are all that matter. T3 was uneccessary rubbish and the new tv series is in the same category for me. I'm avoiding this and any future Terminator films entirely. This is just my opinion and I respect everyone else's entirely.

just curious, why do you think the second was even necessary?

basically it screwed up a lot of the continuity, subtleties, and plot points

from the first one, and destroyed what the image of the 'terminator' was

down to a wimpy robot that protected john...... no, that one for me wasn't

needed either..

Yeah, that's a pretty crap-tastic song. Even if you like those songs, what they ultimately do is severely date the movie. See the original Transformers movie to see what what I'm talking about. Just like Lion (Transformers movie theme) and hair metal turned into a punchline, Nu-rock (or whatever it's being called) will the butt of several future jokes.

 hey!,

i liked 'you got the touch' !!!! it's a classic......kind of funny though,

it did get reused in the 'boogie nights' film..

[issue] - _cant_play_vc1_encoded_files_
Time

i am having a terrible time figuring this out..

i'm trying to play VC1 encoded files

(for instance a WMV encoded vc1 file)...

also, some files have an extension of .TS

-----------------------------------------------------------

i have tried everything i could find...and think of..

i have the latest version 11 of windows media player...

and all updates.. i am running windows XP sp2,

i have an nvidia 8600 256Meg video card...

=================================

tried installing WMV9 encoder - nothing

tried downloading the professional WMV9 encoder from MS site - it has expired

i cannot find the windows media frameworks 9, or 9.5 [MS site won't let me download them]

-----------------------------------------------------------

i tried the haali media splitter - nope

ffmpg - nope

tried CCCp codecs - nothing

tried the recommend  - finalcodec Player - nothing

latest version of VLC - nothing

latest version of media player classic - nothing

latest version of mplayer - nothing

installed all  codecs for mplayer - nothing

installed elecard MPG decoders - nothing

======================================

i can of course demux / remux  / convert files using TSmuxer,

but thats not the point...

i can't play anything in those formats..

======================================

i want to be able to view them, and mess around with them,

and to later on do HD DVD encodes.....

any help would be great..

especially if you can get me the binary executables for windows framework 9.5,

i can't even run the VC1demo from MS either..

===========================================

i have the latest .NET frameworks also..

thanks in advance..

I thought the second one was awesome. The third one was a pile of crap (words cannot truely express how very much I truely hate that movie). And I actually enjoyed the TV show, don't get me wrong, it was FAR from perfect, I would never spend any money on the DVDs or anything. But as long as I can DVR it and skip commercials, I enjoy watching it. I consider it Terminator EU.

the terminator, is a classic, that has stood the test of time, storywise, intensity wise,

and just all around cool..

james cameron messed up t2, by making him less violent, less scary, confusing the whole storyline needlessly, and just basically having a corny, sappy ending.........

the only good thing about t2 was the special effects................you can tell a movies had

problems, when the re-release it about 10 different times, with different versions (*AHEM*)

i can't even begin to imagine how much lower this series will go...

every single movie that followed the first one, has gotten progressively worse (yes, t2 was much nowhere near as good as the first one)..

and on top of that : mcG, is directing..

after the terrible tv series, and now this movie?

they should just quit while they're ahead, but since they're going

ahead, this will be just another movie, that should be straight to - DVD,

just like the aliens vs predator series killed off that series also..

and what does arnold have to say about it?

-----------

Schwarzenegger underwhelmed by early 'Terminator Salvation' footage

"I still don't know how it will play out with this one," said the star-turned-politician, who said he was given a private screening of early footage from "Terminator Salvation" by producers of the franchise reboot directed by McG. "They showed me some footage, but I don't have a feel for the movie. I didn't see enough. I wasn't sure who the Terminator was. I don't know if there is one or if he's the star or the hero. These are the things that determine the success and how the strong the movie will be."

Waterworld ABC Cut? A ton of info - see McFly's posts for details (Released)

ok,

was this version supposed to bring back all the original uncut lines?

i've noticed one change already..

i haven't watched the movie in years, and years...so i got the following

1) extended directors cut

2) extended version (heet) gxline

3) hd-dvd version (still getting it actually)

==================================================

there's a scene where jack black (the pilot) spots the mariner, and comes back

to the ship to report to the deacon...................and he says 'and some atoll WITCH'...

of course this is censored version.....because all the other ones have the actual line...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i'll make a note of the other changes as i see/hear them...
