<strong>The Clone Wars</strong> (2008 animated tv series) - a general discussion thread

I thought i already reviewed the Fifth Epsiode and said it sucked.  The animation is still wooden, The characters faces have zero emotion.  You know like in traditional animation where the chracters move fluidly and there eyes and mouths move and don't look like puppets carved out of wood.

no, you said the same things about the other four.. the animation style isn't going to change,

so why keep bringing it up?

The show is still about the "roger roger" robots which i said some retard had to have thought that would make a good series based on those annoying Robots from episode 1.  Might as well base a whole show on Jar Jar's adventures but i don't want to give Lucas any ideas.

this series is called the clone wars, how do you expect them to stop showing the robots?

also, there was a new type of commando droid that was pretty cool, and by the way didn't

you notice how the clones took advantage of the 'roger roger' part? and also how the droid

gave himself away by using it in trying to decoy the clones? it was actually used well in this

episode...

I want a Live action tv show that is like a subseries of the movies or a spin off cartoon, and what i got was a videogame cutscene made for third graders.

there is a live action show coming, why not wait until that comes out and watch it instead?

I wish the cgi overladen film era would implode.  i am sick of paying to see movies that Look like videogames and were written by a bunch of monkeys. Cgi and bad scripts ruined star wars and Indiana Jones.

now that the CGI genie is out of the bottle, you can't put it back in.....you can only utilize

it sparsely or effectively if done right.... cost/time savings-wise, i'm sure its more of an

economic issue, rather than an aesthetic one..

Not sure, but when I watch your sample clip to my eyes this gives more detail to the image.

which clip? i posted the clip of the issues from the 'darth vader' scene, not this one..

i'm not talking about the detail, that's due to sharpening, i'm talking about the color

of the images.. the sky is looks slightly different, and the orange jumpsuit does also,

it's kind of minor, but still..

And while Jaws was a good film it did not stay close to the original novel at all.  Spielberg made up the ending as it is not in the book.

for once,

i'm actually going to defend spielberg here.. while peter benchleys novel may be different to

the movie.... in this case i didn't care.. because i never read the book first...

and the movie 'jaws' is one of the reason we actually have summer 'blockbusters', i dont'

know if you were around when it came out, but it singlehandly saved the movie industry

with the idea of putting out a 'popcorn' movie ..

also, the influence of 'jaws' on other films is pretty substantial..

you might be the only critic of the movie i've heard...(and i'm not talking about any

of the crappy sequels for it)..

here's some info on it..

From a personal viewpoint, the film takes you into a world where the book can only dream of going. Benchley’s novel heavily diverts with an affair that does not drive the plot forward. He also ends the drama on a fairly bizarre sentence as if the final pages had been previously ripped out. The main focus of the attacks on the local community is lost until the final stages. Although the way the shark scenes have been written, especially the highly tensed closing stages, are indisputably enthralling, the film takes this, and combined with music, effects and rich storytelling, propels it to a point where Spielberg believes the audience are "screaming and tossing popcorn into the air - some running for the exit."

The only possible reason for Peter Benchley’s on set outburst over the rewritten climax, that led to him being removed from the filming at Martha’s Vineyard, is to hide the fact that he wished he had thought of the idea first. Benchley claims ‘I discovered in the process that books and movies are completely different media… but I liked the book as a book.’ However, nowadays, the book seems very 1970’s and outdated. The novel doesn’t have the lasting effect that will label it ‘timeless’. However, the same cannot be said of the film as you can still stick Jaws into your tape player and feel the same nervous energy intended thirty years ago.

spielberg did the right thing here..

Last i checked on Rottentomatoes the Clone Wars movie had a pitiful 19% that is actually Lower than George W Bush approval rating, lol.

Wow that movie sucked.

The funny thing is indiana jones 4 is still hovering just under 70% i just don't get those critics man Indy 4 was worse than Clone Wars because it would be like Lucas making an episode 7 with Mark, Harrison and Carrie and the Movie just ***** goes and ruins the old trilogy.

At least with star wars i could care less since he is ruining the prequels which i don't like anyways.

 and this is here why?

this thread is not about the movie, why don't you put this comment over there..

neither is it about lucas, spielberg or indiana jones..

do you need help in finding those threads? i can post the links if you're still having

problems..

this thread is about THE CLONE WARS TV SHOW... why don't you actually watch

the last episode and talk about that for once..

Thanks for your quick help!

I'm at work at the moment and will try it as soon as I can!!!

i've done the comparison here with the GOUT clip of esb,

and the 3.09b version of the script:

===============================

http://rapidshare.com/files/158930291/esb_comp2.avi.html

here's the original vs gforce (bottom image)

================================

http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/8171/esbcomp01ko9.jpg

it looks like the blue tint is gone, and of course some sharpness, and contrast

improvements..

but i'm not sure how much better than the original it is, because this is just one

small clip... i haven't tried to encode the whole movie.

i still think that different modifications need to be made for the script for each

movie, due to the different problems / scenes that each movie has..

Do we have any idea which film is next...and when it will be "released?"

I had a feeling (although I could well be wrong) that Ady's next release will be TPM...?

it looks like its going to be awhile before anything happens, due to personal

issues going on..(see EP V:R thread)..

Any Suggestions for Better Uprez to HD?

This thread makes me think that the best way to get an HD OT would be to use Adywan's color corrected SE and splice in elements from the stabilized/upscaled GOUT. Is Adywan's HD version significantly compressed?

 i've thought about that too..

but there are so many differences in color/textures/effects... i'm not sure

how this would be accomplished, and if the differences would be too much..

any ideas?
