will always be skeptics, and i don't have the skill to fix the

images too well anyways. it's really up to him what gets put

 yeah, i did delete a lot of posts a long time ago (for privacy sake),

and there was another private board, but it was only up for awhile.

besides there's nothing posted here thats incriminating or drawing

attention anyways. so why worry about it? people are obviously still

well, the only thing to do is to keep looking (as i've been trying),

and hopefully one day things will work out.. however, it's hard

to keep something limited to just a few people, with the great

amount of interest in it... also, realistically, finding people who

could do this properly, and handle all the logistics of working

with the data and restoring the film, is also a major factor.

money might be an issue, but its never gotten far enough

for it to come up yet.. and that's something that i would

rather shield people from, since it creates more problems..

Not sure... but the idea of it never being seen or shared still kinda stinks.

hey guys,

yeah, it's been what? another year?

(of silence) i know...

well, the 2- 35 mm prints of star wars i have are

still waiting patiently for someone to do a HD

transfer of them...

don't get me wrong, i've tried through several

different people, and looking on my own... but

for some reason the negotiations always seem

to break down in the end....

scanning them manually obviously is not the way

to go due to too many problems.. i have worked

out a deal to at least preserve the prints properly

so they wont deteriorate any further than they

already have (and the same with the Empire

Strikes Back print)....

it looks like 1) the prints of course are too fragile

to ever be project again 2) they can only be scanned

once or twice before they are really unuseable..

so we're going to have to be extra careful with them..

on the other, due to economies of scale, time, and pricing,

it will probably be better to try for a 2k-4k preservation

and do it right......

again, no timeline or timeframe right now..

wheels are turning though..

i think i've mentioned this in the past..

but here goes, again..

we've had a couple of leads to do the transfers,

but nothing has panned out..

in fact, i'm investigating another source right now..

as you know.. we can just keep drawing this out forever,

but until something actually happens, i don't think people

want to keep hearing that there is something in the works,

when in fact, nothing is actually happening..

yes, its frustrating for me too.  but what do you tell people,

when there's nothing going on?  i dont' want to get peoples

hopes up, unless there's a reason to..

if anything was happening, i would say it.

also, keep in mind, if something does happen, we'll have

to keep it very quiet, and not draw too much attention to

it, or the whole thing will be shut down (obviously).. i tried

making a private board a long time ago, but that didn't work

out for long.. so it's better just to keep quiet until there is

something to share..

maybe 30 years from now,

they'll re-release avatar in some 'holographic' video format....

who knows how much video technology will have changed

by then?

i haven't seen avatar in 3d yet (maybe someday)...

but if this is what it takes to make people go back to

the theaters again.. maybe it will take another shift

in technology in the future again..

of course, that's once everyone has 3d tvs.... which is

what the TV/movie studios are going for now..

wow!!

i really enjoyed this... it took me straight back to the 70's..

lots of great work in this...

it's a lot of fun....and there's a lot of funny moments,

better than family guy,robot chicken etc... but there's

a few touching moments/dramatic ones too..

the deleted scenes are handled really well,

and i like the new ideas for scenes, and the plot changes also..

even the alternate lines and voices are very good..

this is one of the best fan edit projects i've seen in awhile...

excellent job!!!!! i hope there will be a few more done like this...

this 2nd season has been coming on nicely..

seems like less episodes, and a longer break now..

but i've been enjoying the last few, and the developement

of the padawans.. also a little horror/intrigue/thriller plots

are a nice change from all the battles..

on the other hand.. it is pretty funny..

and the animation of the ships/motion is pretty cool..

Based on their trailer they appear to do HD commercial films. I'd bet it's expensive, though... actual website here.

there's a lot of great foreshadowing about episode 3 in it..

i really thought that was cool.

i'm glad they're keeping the quality of
