in my opinion, the preservation of star wars,

and return of the jedi are the best, with the

least amount of major glitches... empire is ok,

but has some major ones... in all cases, they are

still 97% watchable...

it took awhile, there were about 20+ glitches

that had to be fixed, but i'm done with star wars,

and am checking it now, before uploading it....

still a few minor ones in there that can't be helped.

i used  both versions to combine into one good one..

here's the pics preview...[note, the final video resolution

will be the same aspect ratio, but 640x480]

return of the jedi is done now.

i have left it in 3 parts, so that

it is more like the original release..

it's a very good quality version that

doesn't have time compressed video

or audio.. considering how old the source

is..

i'm almost done with combining the

2 versions of the empire strikes back

into one good one...

i've removed about 10 glitches from it..

now of course there are still some in there,

but it is about 97% complete... i took the original

versions, and split it into 2 avi files... 640x480.

they are time compressed though..

no color or any filtering or cleanup..

i'll post samples shortly, and then let you know

when it's done, you can pm me for the links and share

it anywhere else you want after that..

been doing some major work

on the CED versions.. these are

all fullscreen too..  probably similar

to the VHS versions..

these are all NTSC versions..

i'm mostly done with empire first..

and will post updates for the trilogy

shortly..

yeah, very cool..

ever thought of getting a nikon coolscan,

and the film roll feeder? it does 40 frames..

but there are mods to get around that,also

a different mod lets you use a cheaper feeder

if you are good with electronics..

Obviously, this is excluding other damage the film stock may have incurred.

it depends on the condition of the film,

and how fragile it is. regardless, there are

chemical cleaning processes that are almost

always used.

ok, 

got reel 3 of ESB now.

it's very pink faded, can't tell

about the scratches yet... no

vinegar smell... however, there's

a lot of splices at the beginning...

and the film seems to be twisted a bit..

as long as it has the few minutes that we

need, it should be enough..

trailers are fine,

but i'm more concerned about full reels

or nearly full ones.

finished watching the 2nd star wars

transfer, the FOX version... it's about 90%

glitch free... so a few scenes will be replaced

with the ones from the CBS version.

the colors are way off. the whites, and yellows

are blown out, and the brightness seems pretty

high..... still fun to watch a full frame version...

will take some time to fix it..
