so what's the point of dragging out one line, just to say something in a long run on-sentence, when the browser margin border just wraps the text around anyways? besides this kind of a line break looks a lot worse to me because then i'm not in control of where the sentence breaks? see, i can post in long sentences too, which i have no idea when the line ends.oh joy!?

This makes zero sense.

this is me typing in a line, using the built in editor.. notice where the line breaks?

ok, this is me typing the same line in the editor. making the

line break right after 'the'.

see how the line spacing is single spaced in the first type,

and double spaced when you hit enter?

=======================

in the editor..

the line breaks after the word 'line'.. but when you post it.

it's all one continous sentence in a single line.

why doesn't it look that way in the text box editor?

==================================================

so how do you know where the line is going to break

when you are typing it?

YOU DON'T!

that's why i cut my lines short.

Do you watch The Big Bang Theory and if so feel that you have any extra appreciation of some jokes?

 i've watched a few episodes.

but i don't find at funny at all...

just doesn't resonate with me to well..

ironically. i was born in india (only lived there 2 years),

raised and grew up in canada (13+ years), lived in

africa, the middle east, and then settled in the US

for the last 20+.... so i'm very north americanized.

no accent, north american attitudes, etc.

i can't relate to the indian guy on that show at all.

or indians in general.. i guess the stereotype could

be funny though.

Anyone have experience with installation and compiling of programs in Terminal (MacOSX), i'm requesting guidance/an education.

Did some more digging and it wasn't Comparisonics but a program called Soundmosaic: http://awesame.org/soundmosaic/  (listen to the sample, neeto)

your link gives me an error,

due to the extra characters at the end.

this works:

------------

http://awesame.org/soundmosaic/

i don't get it all.

the demo doesn't help.

and it doesn't really sound like anything close at all?

is there some kind of use, or a better demo/sample?

this doesn't seem to be very useful, or artsy at all.

My friend was a math major. I remembered him saying something about Calculus IV. He might as well as told me he saw bigfoot. Prompted by these memories, I just watched part of a video of a Calc IV class. At first I thought: maybe I could understand it with sufficient effort. After a couple minutes of brain ache I concluded they were just trying to make something (still have no idea what) unnecessarily complicated. That was the problem I had with advanced math - it had no apparent relevance. Like running on a treadmill, it just gets boring and painful. I can accept that Calc IV - like bigfoot - exists and that somebody has seen it in real life (perhaps that video was a spoof and I have a sneaking suspicion it was...) but it still seems kinda crazy.

 i agree.

i am equally boggled when it comes to physics.

the reason i never got a masters in math or physics

(and i did try).... was because everything became theoretical.

group theory? abstract number groups?

no practical purposes that i could see..

that's why i went into computers, and numerical analysis...

something 'practical'..

however, most of my jobs never used any of it.

go figure..

It's easy to tell that you majored in math rather than in English. ;)

i use 'majored' in a very loose sense.

i started off as electrical engineering -> flunked out of

college after two years with a 0.5 grade point average

out of 4. 0 -> dropped out of school -> was homeless->

went back to school -> became a math major ->

minored in physics -> got a second minor in physics

and computer science  4 years later

ended up with a 3.0/4.0 in math with an emphasis

on analysis, graduated with a 2.5 overall.. very average.

i should have majored in videogames, but this was the

late 80's, and everybody thought they were a waste

of time.. but that's what i spent most of time playing.

3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!

Anchorhead said:

My love of the first film is completely separate from the sequels.  Sequels, by the way, made by a director who has given me a lifetime of very cherished and favorite films. He doesn't get a pass just because I feel some sense of duty or allegiance.  Make a good film, I'll see it and support it.

how do you know if something is good.

if you never watch them in their entirety(sequels)? paradox?

if i showed parts of star wars to someone, they could say

that looks terrible, and never watch the whole thing...

they would be missing out.

I also have a question. Does the -1 indicate you are bleeding internets with every post?

i exist in the imaginary zone..

although as a math guy...

-1, is just a negative integer..

if you take the square root of it..

you get an imaginary number ->   sqrrt(-1)= i

that's what you learn with a college degree in math.

Since everyone else is asking -1 questions, I guess I will too.

Negative1, if someone were to register as Positive1 and you two were to make posts directly adjacent to one another, would the two posts cancel each other out and cease to exist?

i was tired of seeing people go first post, etc..

also people bragging about being "number 1"..

i've a very cranky, cynical, depressing

person. i used to be zer0, because i

felt like nothing.

i switched to negative 1, because people

used to tell me that i was the most

depressing person that they knew. ha ha..

so yeah, somebody positive and trying

to be funny (aka tv's frink) cancels me out! ha ha

Here's something that stood out for me in two linked frames TServo2049 posted

http://i43.tinypic.com/4zsz6r.jpg

http://i40.tinypic.com/33l15ol.jpg

There seems to be a greater depth of blue in these scenes (which coincidentally(?) are next to each other in the film) which seems to have drained out to somewhere. Am I seeing this correctly?

 not sure..

but also clip or resize your pictures so they are only 640 pixels wide,

or we can't see the rest of the picture.

So where does this wall of vision fit in a single bedroom flat?

How do you pay for it if you don't have money?

Nosey bugger ain't I?

 1) well,  i don't really own any furniture , except a futon and some shelfs,

so i  have plenty of room for gadgets. i even have a full sized arcade

machine! (no wife, kids or pets to worry about either!)

2) savings ... worked for a couple of years, and saved up. it's been over

2 years since i've had a job. but, if i see something i like. i try to get it.

3) not really, curiousity can be a good thing.

This isn't from the 1982 laserdisc or U.S. rental release. It's from a PAL video - the 80s PAL transfer was sort of different (for example, it had a squeezed crawl and flyover).

Oh I see sorry I jumped in a bit quick there! I agree with you that I think these early 80s releases have more of the original colours left in them. Its tricky trying to work out how much is still there and what exactly is off in each release..

EDIT Here are some frames of the adjusted LD where I think it starts to get close to some of the film cells you posted (other times its way out)

This is interesting to me - I've been trying to adjust the 1982 Laserdisc and have gone in a totally different direction (!). The 82 Laserdisc is very different than the 82 Rental VHS colour wise (Based on comparison between the preservations of them done by Starkiller)

Sorry -1, I have had trouble with formatting posts in the message board since I got a new laptop/system but I found a work round now to post images

no problem..

you have a lot of good infrormation.

and good pictures..

it's not too late to go back through

the older posts, and convert those

links to pictures also... tinypic has

a box, with the direct image link.

copy that, and paste it into the

link with the image..

it's hard to comment when you have

to click and open them in separate

windows/tabs..

looks very good  now!

thanks
