STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Besides...the only one worth bringing back is Maul.....as little as I liked him it DOES make more sense to not kill him off in the first episode......and I'm all for anything that replaces Grievous. AND he's easy to fake.....full face makeup is almost as good as a masked or helmeted character.....so no point in chasing after established actors.

Ady's workin his butt off to finish things up....still tryin' for the end of this year. Probably no new video clips...though he HAS been dropping the occasional still photo of his model work on FB. This IS more or less the final stretch.....just a question of how long a stretch it will be.

The Hobbit Rankin/Bass Animated Film..... (Released)
Time

Picked up that Harry Abrams book with the concept art and boy was I ever glad I did......there's not much else I can use in it for this project, but I DID find some nice Beorn (and Beorn related) concept art. If I manage to get someone to animate a few new shots for me I can now model them after this stuff here....just to try and stay close to the original intent for these scenes. I figure the Beorn stuff and the Elves feasting in Mirkwood will be the big additions to this film (the feasting bit being added to fix the continuity error later in the film when Bilbo says the Elves came BACK even though we're seeing them for the first time....Beorn, just cause he's cool as all hell)......

The reason I feel it doesn't work changing actors/ages for Anakin is that his character essentially reboots into an entirely different one. We need to have more time with the same Anakin otherwise the turn will feel too forced and sudden. We need at least one and a half films with the same "good anakin" with the beginning of the second film planting the seeds of temptation and the bulk of the 2nd film showing the beginning of his fall to the dark side.

I just don't feel like we "know" the adult Anakin enough for there to be a convincing and gradual fall if the first film has him as essentially a completely different character and NOTHING like the person old Obi describes in ANH. No matter how much nicer you make Hayden, I will never see Jake as the same character. We've missed out on too much of his life and development to feel connected with him. He is a new character from AOTC onwards and that's why it's IMO, impossible to get a convincing and non-rushed fall without getting rid of Jake Lloyd Anakin entirely.

George definitely tried to do too much with one character played by 2 different actors and shown at 2 very different ages.

The boy Anakin isn't the problem (the yipees aside) it's the jerk teen Anakin that's impossible to like.

Again, I agree for the most part.....though I don't think we should completely like the teen Anakin. I'd definitely like to see moments between him and Obi, cementing in our minds this supposed "great friendship" they once had.....but I think we should also have moments (perhaps only between the audience and Anakin himself so as not to alienate him from the other characters in the film...just yet)) where we start to harbour doubts or misgivings about the person he is becoming.

Thats why I said we should GROW to hate him. I don't mind him being more or less likeable in the first episode...though even there we should have seen hints.....my bigger problem is that George tried to make him likeable through the remaining two episodes. Our empathy towards him needs to evaporate completely through the 3 films.

So it helps make Anakin more sympathetic...

...If we are to forgive Vader we have to have a degree of empathy with Anakin before he goes off the rails...

...I would like to see the three prequels sort of do what they are meant to be doing only succeed.

My problem with this is that I don't think we SHOULD have been meant to like him or feel sympathy for him. This IS what the PT attempts to do, and it DOES fail...but I think it was a misguided effort to begin with.

Personally I think it makes more sense for us to loathe him.....maybe not right from the start....but we're supposed to grow to hate him. THEN when we get to ESB and ROTJ.....THEN the sympathy comes in....with lines like "It's too late for me, son."

Making the audience sympathetic to Vader/Anakin is something that was already done (and very well) in the OT when we start to see some fraying at the edge of Vader's "bad guy" persona....a desire peeking through, a desire to do good, and save his family.....the PT should have been more about us realizing he's a bad guy, and that he WANTS to be a bad guy. Our sympathy and empathy should be directed more towards Obi or Padme, or anyone else who gets hurt when Anakin abandons them all in favour of greater power.

Well....it wouldn't be Revisited without some bad luck.....and 2013 had been blessedly free of it so far. Now this bit of news from Ady:

"Well that's just screwed everything up on the Revisited front. Heard back from my insurance company that they WILL NOT be paying out for my damaged camera. After the quote to fix it came too close to the cost of a brand new one they would have replaced it new for old. But they are now saying that the model number on my camera does not match the one they have on their records. They've bloody put it was a Canon 500d and NOT the 550d that i have. I ask for the recording of the phone call when i made the claim and they can't find it. How surprising. They will only replace it for a refurbished 500d as a good will gesture, up to the value of £150, which is bloody useless as you cannot change any of the settings when filming video on that camera so useless for filming the miniatures. Screw you kwikfit insurance. If they had put down the correct model number then i could have used the voucher towards a 650d instead, but now what the hell am i supposed to do? Waste of time having the new for old insurance at the higher premium."

Disney's Sleepy Hollow re-edit (* unfinished project *)
Time

Still have this on the back burner....but still just as committed to making it happen (eventually). Shooting for ESB:R has finished....and there's the distant promise of work to be done for ROTJ:R.....but I'd like to get some of this done in between the 2.

Just found out that this film is available in HD from Amazon: Instant Video. Wonder how good the HD is......and also, if it's been scanned at higher res, then why not release a Blu of it already?

Wish there was a way to rip it with no quality loss.....(assuming it was decent HD)
