STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Anybody in the UK with the ability to cast the Han in carbonite prop for Ady? He's having some issues.

The story from FB:

Well i have been let down big time and this has caused all sorts of problems now.

The person in the Uk that i commissioned to cast the hands and legs of the Han in Carbonite prop, which was taken from original castings, has not delivered on his promise. He basically took my money and royally screwed me about. Not what i would expect from a member of the Replica Prop Forum. I was supposed to have received them by the end of last month but nothing. No replies to any of my emails or messages. So i opened a paypal dispute recently and suddenly he contacts me. Claims he has had no internet and was in the process of moving house. Well, iif he knew he was moving house then why say he could even do this commission in time. He then said that he got his girlfriend to sent out many packages but wasn't sure if mine was among them (seriously?). He said they the plan was to get them to me this week. Well, he only lives a few hours away from me so delivery would only be a few days max. Again this week no reply to any of my messages AT ALL.

A couple of other people contacted me saying that they are still waiting for their items and have been waiting a lot longer than me.

Now this has completely screwed me up. I am now in the process of claiming my cash back from him through paypal. I think i was fair enough to him and gave him plenty of time to rectify this, but i'm making the claim as time has almost ran out.

So now i have to start from square one again. I now need to find someone who is able to cast the hands & legs, that is preferably in the UK (due to shipping and taxes which there is no way i could afford and shipping times etc) and is 100% reliable, able to do the castings pretty cheap and can knock them out and get them delivered as quick as possible.

So, if anyone knows anyone that can help with this, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm totally stuck with this.

Thanks

-Adywan

Certainly, I'm real glad that he's concentrating on the whole OT first, and leaving the rest till afterwards.

ROTJ:R, ANH:R (HD) and I, II & III will all be worked on simultaneously. No word yet on if they will be released all together or one at a time.

@muddy, That would indeed be a great way to end ROTJ. That reminds me of aalenfae's amazing job depicting an alternative way for seeing Anakin's ghost http://vimeo.com/36883170 It looks great and it's effectively emotional seeing his ghost appear amongst the flames in that way, imo (even if it was Hayden used). It'd be interesting to see this concept in an edit, but just not sure if it'd be right for Revisited.

Wow.....aalenfae....went through a bunch of your videos. You seem to really understand what would make the PT better. You've made some very subtle changes that make a world of difference. Very impressive.

To be fair, I WAS just joking. It's Shaw's ghost.....already decided, ages ago. But if you want MY opinion on the best way to end ROTJ....it would be to have Luke see the ghosts at the funeral pyre instead of at the party. They smile at him, fade away, and then Han & Leia come looking for Luke....no dialogue, the music does the talking, but we clearly see that Luke tells them he has to go, and can't join them at the party, they shake hands/hug....he walks over to his X-Wing and Han & Leia go back to the party and the films ends as it does now.

I think this would have strengthened the idea that the "Returning Jedi" wasn't Luke....but THE JEDI....the order, not the individual....and Luke is off to go make that happen. Unfortunately I think Lucas had had his fill and wanted a nice unambiguous ending.

... but, he's putting Shaw's ghost back in, right?!

Along with the ghosts of Padme and Qui-Gon, Plo Koon, Jango, the separatist leaders, Darth Maul, General Grievous, Count Dooku, Mace Windu, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, Greedo, Storm-Troopers #'s 5, 8, and 34, Tarkin, that poor little frog thing that Jabba pushes over the ledge in TPM, Jabba, that one dead Ewok, YOUNG Anakin (cause you know, why not), and Emperor Palpatine. They're all gonna parade by, waving and shaking hands.....the ultimate happy ending (without having to pay for a massage).

Muddyknees2000, I had seen a video on youtube where ady was trying to make the movement of the AT-AT smoother and a bit faster like their counterparts in the PT, will that be the case, that is if you can share that answer? also is there anywhere i could watch the clips that were posted/removed from youtube anywhere else? thanks!

I don't have that specific answer, and the videos that were removed aren't posted anywhere else to my knowledge, unless someone ripped them and re-posted elsewhere.....but they'd be all long out of date by now anyways.

I don't disagree with any of the changes Ady has made. My comment refers to the length of time this project has taken, which, in part, must be due to his perfectionist streak.

I don't think I'm alone in worrying about how long it will take him to complete all the other movies. Perfectionism often stifles creativity.

I see....I misread that. Apologies for my tone in that case. Much of what he is doing is stuff he's wanted to from the very beginning, but couldn't...didn't quite know how to.....didn't think he'd have the time for. While working on these edits he has acquired all kinds of new skills and specific tricks to do things (or to improve what has already been done). Hell, even one of the physical models that Ady was working on will have something added to it that he didn't think he'd be able to get (can't tell you which just yet)....new doors are opening all the time, many of them making possible some of the visions Ady had quite a while back that he had given up as impossible. That, unfortunately, will take the time it takes. And you needn't worry about Ady's creativity being stifled. That's in no danger of happening.

Changes HAVE been made. Ady's a perfectionist...always tweaking little details.

That's what worries me.

It IS his edit after all. If you feel it goes too far in spots then feel free to edit out whatever you don't like in your own version.

while that is great and that drive to improve it just a bit more... There is a danger in that so much as you never feel like your truly finished it...

The work he's done on ESB:R is VERY respectful of the original. VERY.

I'd say that 80-90% of what he's done is small details.....just perfecting an already almost-perfect film. The larger details (ie: models) are staying very true to what was there before it....and generally replacing things that were never quite up to snuff.

While ANH felt a tiny bit different due to some of the additions, subtrations or changes, ESB will still feel very much like the original film. Nothing is being changed in the way of pacing, or scene/shot order.

Boba somehow knew how and which Star Destroyer Han was hiding on (in my experience there's no such thing as luck).

could very well be that he was just hiding in the garbage IN CASE Han tried the same trick...maybe he didn't know a damn thing but his bounty hunter instinct told him to try that before leaving in case it panned out.

Don't be coy, MK2K, you know as well as I that Ady has replaced that shot of Slave I with Boba Fett using his jet pack from the garbage to fly up to the Falcon and physically grab a hold of it while piloting Slave I remotely.

SHHHHH!....They're listening........

I agree....it's fine as is......never caused any confusion in my mind. The only minor issue I ever had is the one Ady has already addressed by moving Slave1 back from the Falcon.....visually it just FELT wrong for him to be so close. Even though with the probable scanner jamming potential Fett has onboard it wouldn't TECHNICALLY matter how close he was to them.....you just want it to look like he's skulking far behind......because it visually conveys that he's hiding from them without having to explain the sci behind your fi.

I wouldn't be at all fine with cloaking technology making an appearance in Star Wars. It's just not necessary and would stick out like a sore thumb.

And it doesn't do anything to make Boba more fearsome. What's more fearsome is a hunter who uses his cunning, not some fancy technology. Anyone with money these days can buy camo and an expensive blind, and hire a guide, and bag a deer or a bear with a little bit of patience. That doesn't make you a fearsome hunter. Boba Fett is the kind of bounty hunter who would say, "cloaks are for pussies."

Fett hides, he stalks at a distance, he uses his cunning to determine where Solo is going. Simple, effective, fearsome. I have several private investigators in my family and this is what they do, and they're damn good at it.

Yup.

I wonder if, on the other hand, thrummy would stand out like a sore-thumb in the midst of all the other, non-thrummy sounds of ESB.

If you have access to the 2004, 2006 DVDs or the Blu you can check it out and decide for yourself......they already integrated the sound into the flyby of Slave1 when it leaves the garbage....can't remember if they put it into the Bespin departure scene or not...

Well it's already in there from the 2004 editions and onwards....just a question of whether or not Ady will keep it or revert back to the original sound effect (though I don't recall if they used the new Slave1 effect consistently throughout ESB or not). I'd definitely like to keep the original sound of it powering up from the floating garbage intact, but replace the overall engine noise with the newly created PT effect.
