nice matte.
nice matte.
Someone should pull elements from the original draft of Star Wars. There is some strong stuff there. You would have to rework it; but a lot of it could be used.
Ok... DRUM ROLL..........DONE!
Disc one and two is complete.... Now, I need uploading advice... I don't mind torrenting this, but I don't know how to upload... But if anyone can help, or has a better idea; I'm all ears....Er...Eyes.
In the meantime, I'm running full steam ahead on the Storybook cut.
No worries... I was able to fix it... So I'm back in business. I hope to complete disc two today. Mind you this is the Standard cut of the films. The Storybook cut will come later.
Wow. That. Is. Cool.
Holy friggin' crap.
So, yeah; I get home to watch my finalized disc one only to find out it doesn't end where it should... It just cuts off.
Anyone know how to fix this? Is this common? I made the DVD in DVD Architect.
PROGRESS REPORT:
I AM DONE WITH DISC ONE, and I'm prepping Disc two. Then I'll finish up work on the Storybook editions... But this is it for the editing aspect. It's done, and this is what it will be.
I'll let you guys know when it's available.
I'll throw down an outline later just for kicks... And mine will require you to delete all memories of the prequels...

That was actually my original reason for trying it... Because if it ALL looks animated then there is no problem.
Here is a downloadable clip http://digital-fanedits.com/index.php/component/option,com_jdownloads/Itemid,80/catid,4/task,viewcategory/
Just look for Storybook test.
I can see them just fine... Looks good TMBTM.

I know how to screenwrite, and I even have some ideas about what could be. If anyone wants me to take a stab at writing a screenplay for this; I would be glad to. Even if it's just to read and reject it. It would be fun just to work on it.
No takers, huh? lol

No it will be the same edit so to speak; but it's not quite as simple as applying one affect. (Wish it were though.) I'm finding that I'm having to adjust per scene quite a bit. But again, I got that hard part of the "recipe" done, so it's just tweaks here and there.
I'll see about doing that today if time permits.
I said this in another thread; but I wish a group of us would be bold; get together, and just reshoot the prequels...Haha. I laugh because I know no one will take me seriously; but if you really think about it; it could be done... Would take 20 years probably; but it could be done.
Alas; I think we're stuck with what we have. With that said; in my edit, I have actually cut the operating table scene so you hear no screams. The only scene that has screaming is when he's burning... That was harder to work for me.
Yes, it will be in motion. (Sorry Ripplin.)
But personally, i liked the effect; so I'm hoping there is a niche audience for this kind of style... If not; you'll have the Standard version to choose. So it's all good.
Oh, and I was able to salvage my footage from the Adobe monster; so I do NOT have to start over. Disc One is more or less complete.
These are merely test shots, and still a work in progress.... Thanks for the comments... and I agree the Yoda shot looks a lot better, but I feel it may be a lighting issue. I'll tinker more with it... And also, I think the Yoda shot had some slightly upgraded settings from the Obi shot.... Maybe I'll see about redoing Obi-Wan with the new settings... I also plan on correcting the white line around the borders.
So, I mention the Storybook version of my edit, and this is what it could look like:
It took me awhile to get this effect right. Like I said; I will release this version with the standard version, but what I like about the storybook edition is that it really blends prequel shots with classic trilogy shots because it all looks animated...
What does everyone think so far?
adywan said:i can remember just how much hassle i had trying to use premiere when first doing revisited. It hated the HUFFYuv codec and i can't understand why adobe haven't fixed all those bugs even though there have been 2 new versions since. the only lossless codec i could get it to work somewhat with was lagaryth, but that gave some weird compression problems on some frames, so i dumped premiere and switched back to vegas. haven't looked back since.
if i were you i would just forget premier and start again with vegas as you have said . it will be a lot less hassle for you.
i'm very curious what the storybook edition will be.
Oh, I already agree with you... I've already decided to do all future fanedits on Vegas. Just in the meantime, I'm going through a last ditch effort to save my work so I don't have to start over completely.
Lagarith did weird things to me as well.
How can you have an amazing program like After Effects, but then your primary editor is crap? Boggles the mind.
ARGH! So, yeah... I was trying to use an updated version of Premiere in the hopes that they worked the bugs out..... Yeah, well, no they didn't....
The first half of the movie (disc one) is just sitting on that timeline; but everytime I try to render to a lossless HUFFYuv codec AVI; I get the "Error Compiling Movie" message.
I'm now in the process of trying some new file formats... If I can't; I will have to begin....Again....On Vegas. I will NOT try this again on premiere. The only reason I did again, because I thought the update could have worked out the kinks.
In more positive news; when this whole deal is done; I will have two versions to choose from. Standard, and The Storybook Edition.
You'll learn more about "The Storybook Edition" very soon.
So you just want the VOB files?
So how do we get "The Vintage Edit".... Torrent?
Hmmm...... I might disagree... it all depends on what you write into it, and how you use what you have.
You know... I'm sure this is crazy; but we have some freakishly awesome editors on here.... Why couldn't we re-shoot the prequels... I know how to shoot; and have the equipment... Someone has to know how to do some CG work... I know how to do green screen keying... We have all the music we could ever need.
I'm SURE this would never happen; but if some of us worked together on different aspects, I actually do believe it could happen.
Crazy dreams, I know... But how much fun would that be???
