You are correct. He did purple instead of green, and indeed did remove the Yoda fight. Very good edit I might add.

I've also been thinking about titles, has Adywan mentioned anything about renaming any of the prequels? I always thought Phantom Menace was a terrible title since it was first announced and Attack of the Clones is misleading. I really like Revenge of the Sith and if it had to be changed, the only ones I'd agree with are "Rise of the Empire", "Fall of the Jedi", or "Return of the Sith"

Haha... I think I prefer the clone wars version over Hayden. The animated version is exactly how I would want Anakin to be. I can completely believe him to be to the future Vader. They managed to eliminate the whiny attitude he had in the live action films.

What version are you using? I love premiere as an editor but it can kinda suck when rendering out. It loves to tell you "Error compiling movie" and when you do research all the adobe boards tell you to remove effects... Which sucks... However, I have had pretty good luck rendering out a high quality mpeg2 if you want to try that.

One change I've implemented already is to move the Senate scene of Palpatine getting his emergency powers to immediately after Padme and Anakin leave Coruscant. He doesn't say anything about creating an Army because in my crawl, it will explain the army is common knowledge already. At the end of this scene, Mace doesn't say anything about going to Geonosis to help Obi Wan, and I've tweaked Yoda's line:

Mace: It is done then
Yoda: Hmmmmmm
*pause*
Yoda: Visit, Obi wan will, the cloners on Kamino.......and see this army they have created for the republic.

Obviously the reason being to track down the bounty hunter, under the ruse of 'inspecting' the army.

It's still VERY rough. I've done no work yet to smooth it out or add background music to Yoda's tweaked line. It's just in place ready for when I get to the audio stage.

Well I've just had an idea about a possible way to fix the whole Jango/Boba issue in the film. As it stands, he's clearly affiliated with both sides, both being the host for the clone army and being on geonosis with Dooku (which not only makes the jedi look ridiculously stupid for still using the army, but also poses its own problems in an edit where Dooku is a good Jedi)

So here's my idea - after escaping Obi Wan on Kamino, we use one of the existing P.O.V Slave 1 cockpit shots, and have a hologram of a hooded, obscured faced Palpatine/Sidious come up. We then have him say (either through sampling existing dialogue, or voice modulation, or a combination of the two) something like "very good, now lead them to the seperatists. We will have our war." (or something cleverer than that - I haven't really thought about the line much).

The point is, Jango/Boba now has a reason to lead Obi Wan to Geonosis. We then never see him again after that (he is not in the arena) and Dooku's line of "there are no bounty hunters here that I am aware of" becomes truth.

Not a bad idea. The hologram might be tricky, and finding a voice actor.... but honestly anyone who can do a descent brittish accent would work, then you could do some vocal modulation... As if he's trying to disguise his voice anyway.

Haha... we decided if we go through with this, then Padme should be promptly RENAMED... So in the meantime, NotPadme is the used name. =)

They pick up Anakin.

They arrive on Naboo and after a battle drive the Federation off.

No more darting around from one planet to another and another and back again, the film has a single threat which the whole film is structured towards removing.

What stays in and what goes depends on what can be made to fit but that structure is more like the one in ANH where all plot threads led to Yavin and the destruction of the Death Star.

Ok, I'm just going over everything you mentioned... I agree, it's a better idea,  but there might be some difficulties.

We would have to figure out how to get the trade fleet to come out of hyperspace without it looking stupid. I'm sure it's possible but I've never tried it myself.

Jar-Jar being a representative will be complicated as well seeing as he's wearing his common clothes and in ep. 2 he's wearing his Rep. clothes. We would have to figure that out.

The rest of this could be done quite easily. Please know that I am NOT shooting your idea down. Just looking for feedback from those who could help us accomplish the complicated parts.

Xhonzi - Sorry for the lack of response. I actually like your ideas. Nothing wrong there at all... And you're right, the prequels lacked focus.

I guess I'm ready for someone to bang out a treatment on all we've talked about. That's when I think this will become even more interesting.

Warwick Davis should have played Anakin over Hayden.

Good point. Willow was also a far superior film compared to anything prequel related.

Hmmm..... NotPadme could be Palpy's daughter and still be good... But even good people make mistakes. You could see the conflict there. Does she side with her father who she loves, or her ideals.... That idea can spring even bigger ideas. I kinda like it.

It's interesting. How do you suggest this be accomplished?

This is true, but I'm just saying in the case of Star Wars, specifically classic SW, Princess to me came off as traditional royalty... It's easier for me to accept seeing as Leia is a Princess... Has there ever been a Princess elected? It's not a big issue, just would be easier to accept if Amidala had always been royalty in my opinion.
