 I have brought this up in the past but it never went anywhere.

 Can't this be said about most ideas in the thread? There have been numerous creative possibilities but nobody yet has set out to make a fan edit out of them.

There are a number of reasons why things don't happen. Just the simple complication of replacing Syfo-Dias and Qui-Gon in the conversation for example.

A lot of times people just don't agree with ideas. That is why there are more prequel edits than there anything else. Just ask Frink.

My best advice to the person who wants their ideas realized, do your own edit. Again, that's why there are so many edits out there.

It's just one that TM mailed to a few people.

It is great... TM has MIA lately.... Kinda tempted to take his workprint, and adjust the color... At least it would be something.

Exactly... I think that is George Lucas and many of filmmakers issue these days... They believe the spectacle will get you emotionally invested in the film they are selling you. It can be as pretty as can be, but if you don't care about the people in the story you will never be emotionally involved. I don't think pretty pixels do that. Never have with me anyway.

Meant to say "Watto's shop."

He did..... Some rotoscoping, some by zooming in... But he left in when they are in Watto's shot. Said that it could just be assumed he's another customer.

Speaking on this edit though.... I urge you to watch it just to see one of the most fubared endings I've ever laid my eyes on.

The Last Starfighter? Always thought that movie would be cool is someone could take the CG effects and refine them. I don't have the knowledge for that one, but it would make for a great edit.

Dan beat me to it... Use the Greedo fight. You may have to cut out when Qui-Gon calls him Anakin... Not sure he should know his name yet.

I understand, Bob... My wife just had our first child a little over a week ago, and I'm surprised I found time to write this.

I used to think those looks were not possible with motion video, because it would require a lot of masks and just yeah..... A lot of work, but since I've seen Bob Garcia wield AE CS5 I believe it could happen. I'd try it myself if I had a 64 bit system.

Well, anyone is welcomed to use the shots if they wish, but personally if I saw those shots inserted it would make me shut the movie off. Just sayin'.

That's not entirely true. He almost dropped it because of Lucasfilm.... But then picked it up again. He left it because of technical issues... Mainly the complications of swapping out music if I recall correctly.

But to stay on topic..... Ady, hope things are going well. Looking forward to the edit. Everything I've seen so far looks great!

No offense, but anyone who uses footage from that abomination should be ashamed.
