I'm guessing you could do something with the tracks in Audacity.

Thanks a ton Frink. I'll certainly look into it.

Also, just one more quick question, I'm kind of on the fence about whether or not I'm going to end up dubbing the Nemoidian's voices. Any thoughts regarding that?

I think all Gungans and Neimodians should be completely redubbed, They were that awful to me.

2) There is no explanation of how Obi figures out to go to Kamino. None. He takes the dart to the analysis droids, they tell him pretty much nothing, and suddenly he's in the library trying to find Kamino (which of course he names without any previous reference to it).

From the edit detail page:

- "Kamino" (in Aurabesh type) is now seen flashing on the computer display during the Jedi temple analysis scene. We also hear a results tone before the reveal.

I see.  We are required to know how to read Aurabesh in order to follow a major plot point.  And the "results tone" is supposedly meant to clue us in.

This seems like something Lucas would have changed.

This is brilliant and something to implement into EVERY prequel edit from this day forward!

I actually did something different for this scene in my Redemption edit. It was always one of my few issues with ANH. They hear a Krayt dragon, and then see an elderly man stumbling towards and their response is to run... Even after taking out a healthy/much younger man? My solution is: They hear the dragon; then look in the direction of the noise, and see nothing... They freak out and run. It's going with the idea that it's the things you don't see that scare you the most.
Love it.

Thank you kind sir.

Got through the TPM section.  First a little praise (SPOILER AHEAD)

R2D2 flies in the space battle over Naboo all by himself, and destroys the droid control ship.  It's a pretty neat idea, and it's executed really well.  Anakin is rotoscoped out of all his scenes and it's very impressive.

Having said that, it does kind of hurt his character development since we don't see him being a hero in any way.  I certainly prefer edits that make him the hero without any accidental success..but this was certainly a neat alternate idea.

The second half of the TPM section has so many odd choices.  For instance, on Tatooine, Ani is rotoscoped out of the Maul vs. Qui-Gon lightsaber battle.  I don't know why it is necessary, but it would work...except Qui-Gon still yells "tell them to take off."  Who is he talking to?

When they approach Coruscant, Ric Olie's lines are removed...except where he says "Chancellor Valorum is waiting for us."  Fine...except it's a voice over and we never see him.  So who is talking?

Ani is not shown on Coruscant at all...and yet the Jedi Council still talks like they tested him.  What?

On the way back to Naboo, the queen asks for R2's help instead of Jar Jar.  I guess she needed him to be a projector to explain her plan?  Or maybe she wanted him to save the day in the space battle...except that's never clear either.  It certainly seems like he acts on his own.

Back on Naboo, the Droid army marches on the Gungans...except the Gungans aren't ever shown, so it's not clear who (or why) the Droid army is marching on.  And Sid even says "wipe them out," but we have no idea who he is talking about.

In fact, given that we never see the Droid army fighting anyone, why did the Control ship have to be destroyed in the first place?

Honestly, the whole second half of TPM is a choppy, narratively confused mess.  If you were watching this as your first exposure to TPM, you would have no idea what was going on.

Lastly, the transition from a shot of Ani at Qui-Gon's funeral to Obi in EP3 saying "I will take the boy and watch over him" makes no sense.  Maybe he's supposed to be talking about Anakin rather than Luke (and maybe I need to watch more), but we already saw the first part of the scene in the beginning of the edit.

Basically, WTF?

All I can say is; you haven't seen anything yet! The upcoming edits make what you've seen look like Shakespeare.

I don't want to use any KOTOR footage, just use the name of it and have it mentioned as the new power source. Then there's a bit more to it instead of "hey, they found a random power source"

If you pull this off, it would be very interesting to me. I agree with what was said, it needs to be explained well enough so there is no need to actually know anything about KOTOR.

I don't know, Kinda shrinks the universe.

I think it's too easy to say that. I always thought these characters in OT that had bit parts, but had a past would be more important in the prequel films. Like Owen and Beru, Mon Mothma. Almost as if by the time we see them in the OT it's like a nice cameo/reminder of the past, and a passing of the torch for the new generation.

Here's an idea that might not make me any friends.

Instead of having the Krayt dragon call scare off the Sandpeople why not just have Ben appear right next to one of them while they were trashing Luke's speeder (as if he has used his Jedi stealth to sneak up on them).

There could be an insert of a Tuscan looking up and see a robed figure right next to them and stare into his hood.

The line, "Hello there" could even be shunted slightly back so he addresses the sandperson and not Artoo.

His spooky nature and possibly his reputation could do the rest.

That way you don't have the somewhat odd shot of an old guy in a dressing gown making funny noises while approaching the more formidable looking alien chaps with spiky mummified face masks on.

He could then check on look and beckon Artoo out of hiding with the remainder of the lines.

I'm through the first hour now.

TPM is smoother than ROTS as far as the narrative goes, but there are still occasional odd jumps that make little sense if you've never seen it before.  And a few hard audio transitions as well.  I forget who said it, but I agree that removing Jar Jar but leaving the splash in the water where he dove in makes no sense.  And why show them going in the water at all, since the next time we see them they are entering Theed?

On Tatooine there is one long shot with Jar Jar in it (I think rotoscoped in so he isn't walking with the rest of the party) which maybe is meant as an easter egg or something but is just distracting.  And then he shows up in Watto's shop for absolutely no reason.  Oh, and like TheBoost said, the abbreviated first discussion between Padme and Anakin is really poorly done.  It makes no sense and is really really awkward.

Like everyone else, I will admit that the removal of Jar Jar is really well done from a technical standpoint.  I did notice one or two brief instances where a bit of his audio was left in even though he was removed visually, however.

Still not impressed, but will keep going...

Treat it like a band-aid and get it over with, Frink. Or......Stop. That's actually a better option in this case.
