It has plot holes you can drive a train through but I love the characters and the action.

Plot holes are a staple of the franchise. I always hate using the “nostalgia clouds peoples’ memory” argument, but I don’t think it is fair to pick apart Skyfall over mostly inconsequential plot discrepancies while accepting to problems with all the other films in the franchise. Skyfall has plenty of problems, but I find it puzzling to see fans of the franchise picking apart the most pointless problems in Skyfall while having no problem with the pre-Craig films.

Star Wars vs. A New Hope - Which do you say and why?
Time

Wookieepedia was really overturned by the whole EU decanonizing debacle. All of the pages for stupid characters have no information on them, you have to click on a separate tab for the “legends” information. Technically all episode numbers need to be removed from the Wookieepedia titles since they are all advertised as Star Wars: title, with no episode numbers to speak of, which I love. They actually lied by saying TFA was titled Star Wars Episode VII the Force Awakens (while saying it was just marketed as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is not true). It’s nice that the TFN/Wookieepedia folks are not the target demographic for Star Wars products any longer.

Eh, I’ll always hate ROTS over the other prequels; no amount of darkness can ever make up for the shitty execution of Anakin’s fall, that sorry excuse for a Jedi Purge, and Padme’s continuity-violating death.

I think the reason ROTS was so awful was because AOTC was so inconsequential to the overall plot of the PT. Had it perhaps painted Anakin as a noble Jedi who was gradually slipping over to the dark side then ROTS wouldn’t have seemed so rushed and stupid. I can see why you hate more than the other two, I just think that AOTC (and TPM also) are to blame for the disastrous storytelling in ROTS.

That’s definitely true. Mocking and bashing the team_negative1 is something that has been happening a lot lately, and is something that I’m guilty of. That being said, the reason there has been a resurgence of this is because you have been posting outside of your thread with no regard to the rules, which caused the backlash.

I’ve got a twinge of nostalgia for the Phantom Menace, and still get a little bit of enjoyment from watching it. I don’t have any nostalgia for Attack of the Clones, or Revenge of the Sith so I don’t think I care to ever see either of those again. Even with nostalgia aside I do believe that TPM is objectively the best of the prequels. ROTS has a high body count and is more violent, but overall it’s less watchable than TPM in my opinion since it looks very video-gamey whereas TPM looks pretty good to this day (other than some CGI).

I agree with you, but it sounds like your saying a high body count and more violence is a pro.

It isn’t necessarily a pro for me (at least not in a Star Wars film), but I think it’s a reason why a lot of fans find it more watchable than the other two prequels.

For people that claim we’re ‘ruining’ this section, and people that don’t read or care what we have to say.

I said that in the off-topic thread, but intended it as more of a sarcastic quip, but I have made a lot of disparaging remarks towards team_negative1. My apologies for the rudeness and disrespect. That being said I do stand by the fact that ignoring the rules of the website that has provided you with a place to discuss and share your work (work which I am grateful for by the way) is inappropriate.

I’m getting pretty fed up with team_negative1’s blatant disregard of the team account rules. They’ve been warned plenty of times over the last several months not to post outside their thread, but they keep doing so with impunity.

I say it’s about time team_negative1 was hit with the ban hammer – at least for a month.

I couldn’t agree more! I wasn’t bothered by their posts until it ruined the Theatrical Cuts vs. Special Editions section of the forums. The fact that they provide material to Harmy is very nice and I appreciate it a lot, but it shouldn’t be a free pass to break the rules of the forums.

EDIT: I stand by the statement that they shouldn’t get a free pass to break the rules, but I want to note that by using the word, “ruined” I didn’t mean that they literally reduced it to a state of decay, collapse, or disintegration.

From now on though I am done taking jabs at team_negative1 as it is unnecessary and inappropriate.

How do you know all of this information and why is it more trustworthy than the person who actually worked with Lucasfilm? I know that the person you refer to in your original post has experience in the industry and worked firsthand with McCallum and Lucas. Was he lying? How do you know that what he said is inaccurate. Do you work for Lucasfilm?

Images are from RMW test samples. Some are in color, some are grayscale.

All of them were for test reels and showcase demos.

These were for the abandoned 4k restorations, from what we can tell.

Team Negative1

Do you actually know they were abandoned? It sounds like the images you have were for testing purposes, so how does that reveal anything about what is or isn’t going to be released.

I couldn’t care less about the whole team account kerfuffle but I will say the fact that they’re so insistent that LFL will never release the OOT and that their restoration is the only hope for fans is pretty silly. I mean, their work is awesome but it’ll still be awesome when LFL releases the OOT.

I don’t believe for one second that whoever posts with the account has any information regarding the status of the OOT, it’s just a way of adding importance to their project and to make it sound noble and heroic. I want to be clear that I am very thankful for what they’ve contributed to Harmy’s Despecialized Editions, but the total disregard for this forum’s rules regarding team accounts is unfortunate.
