Wish I had the guts to even come out to myself as bi or gay or whatever the hell I am, instead of clinging to bitterness, denial, and self-pity.

When I accepted my bisexuality I trained myself to shut out the negative thoughts that accompanied me every time I would think about fucking a guy and eventually I just accepted who I was and I feel so uninhibited because of that. If you do this you won’t be able to escape the truth because when that moment of clarity hits that hard nugget truth won’t disappear. It’ll be something you can’t muster a counter argument against you’ll have to accept what you are.

Yep, this is totally right.

I hate the Young Turks as much as the next guy, but I don’t think Mankiewics is a huge proponent of their bullshit. I guess he’s complicit, but he seems nice.

Alright, so I just found out that Ben Mankiewics does contribute to TYT, but only regarding Films & Sports. I still don’t lump Ben with Cenk and his main crew that deal with politics, social issue and other topical discussions. Yes, I agree, he does seem nice, just as long as he sticks to Films & Sports.

You can easily find videos of Mankiewics on TYT doing more than talking about Films & Sports. Look it up. He is one of them.

Well, that’s news to me. I’ll have to check that out, further still.

He’s the co-founder of the thing.

You should probably look up the definition of the world “or”.

Again, I don’t even quite get what this is supposed to mean. I know what “or” means.

Computer scientists and electronic engineers are aware that there are two definitions of “or”… inclusive-or and exclusive-or. “OR” by itself is ambiguous, except in digital logic, wherein inclusive-or is assumed. To wit:

“you can have cake OR you can have candy” (exclusive or, both not an option)
“applicants must have a PhD OR equivalent experience” (inclusive or, both an option)

The interpretation of your earlier post depends on which “or” you intended, which presumably is why you were asked if “both” was an option.

I wasn’t asked that.

The FBI director saying “there is no such thing as absolute privacy”, coming from an organization which has a disturbing history of illegally wiretapping and spying on private citizens; details of programs that involve mass data collection, backdooring consumer electronics equipment and software, hacking remote cars to commit assassinations…yeah I guess we can chalk all of that kind of behavior up to benign peacekeeping, right?

I’m sorry, is this in response to me?

He’s telling you about the corrupt and violent side of the FBI as though you are completely ignorant of it and implying that because of it, nothing about the FBI is capable of benign peacekeeping. You never said that peacekeeping was benign though, so who knows?

4K restoration on Star Wars

That doesn’t look good. Keep in mind though that the blu-ray image appears to have been zoomed in, so it’s hard to say. Why is the iTunes HD copy different? Did they release a better version in HD? This may be an example of a really bad transfer in the early days of blu-ray that got remedied years later. This happened a lot, two that I can think of that were released in poor quality and then remedied later were Gladiator and Lethal Weapon.

My point is that you said Wikileaks is a tool of the Russian government probably for no other reason than because you read it over and over again in the New York Times or heard it over and over again on MSNBC or CNN or something.

This is why you shouldn’t just assume you know everything. You accusing me of watching MSNBC is probably the most blatantly inaccurate assumption you’ve made so far. Anyone who has ever read any of the stupid things I’ve posted in this thread knows that I’m not an MSNBC or CNN fan.

Well I am smart enough to not fall for the blame-everything-on-the-Russians bs.

I don’t blame everything on Russia, I’m just not naïve enough to think that they’re a benign force.

Wikileaks goes back a lot further than the recent election cycle,

Which is why I said, “at this point”.

and they made a name for themselves outing U.S. abuses against civilians in the war on terror,

Hence my reference to the difference between whistleblowing and subverting American interests and security.

which is a common cause with the Russians. It’s pretty clear they are just anti-government,

Anti- which government?

and the idea that Assange or anyone there is a Russian agent is about as stupid as it gets.

I never said that.

If the Russians were the source for Wikileaks dumps, then you know it stands to reason the U.S. could source them with intel on Putin and the Russians as well, right? But since it ain’t workin’ like that, you should be be able to figure out logically that all of their info is coming from inside Washington D.C., not Russia.

I don’t get what your point is here. Just because something very specific hasn’t happened doesn’t mean that your invented alternative is immediately true.
