Sounds worse than not being raised at all, honestly.

Aren’t all weapons dangerous?
Shit, you could probably beat a guy to death with a Sunday New York Times, couldn’t ya? If you really cared enough.*
*Line stolen from George Carlin.
Didn’t Carlin also point out you could threaten someone with a sheet of paper?
I’m not sure about that. I remember he said that a guy with really big hands could strangle a couple of flight attends, one with each hand! “So why do they let a guy with big hands board an airplane?” Hilarious!
There is a old story I’ve heard about a small dog getting flattened by the Sunday edition of the L.A. times.
😭
I’m an American, I don’t believe in foreign countries.
Peanut butter lasts years. I also have never heard of anyone refrigerating peanut butter until this minute.
Ah-lee sounds offensively similar to Muhammad Ali and I refuse to associate a prequel character with him.

Personally, I don’t think many people are intelligent or responsible enough to operate a gun (including cops). I also think it should be much more difficult to legally own and operate a car.
I’m asking for that. The idea that hunting WITH A GUN or self defense WITH A GUN has to be allowed because it’s a right is fucking stupid and most of the rest of the world agrees with me.
The only thing dumber than that is claiming it’s a god-given right, which is so baffflingly stupid I can’t even spell baffling correctly.
I meant that no one is wanting to ban any and all guns: antique revolvers, AR-15s, AK-47s, bazookas, and pinfire pistols alike.
As a non-gun person, this is about reason and logic. It’s emotion and fear when any story involving a gun is said to prove that guns need to be banned.
The story doesn’t prove anything that wasn’t proven long ago, it just prompts questions about whether we’re going to do anything about it or kick the can down the road a few more years.
I do care about the Constitution’s protection of liberty too. If you wish to deny people a basic right of self defense or hunting with a gun, that will take a very long time no matter what party is in power. And sometimes people are going to hurt other people. If you want to talk about how certain kinds of guns or certain kinds of people pose a danger, fine. But the OMG a gun view doesn’t seem reasonable to me.
Almost nobody is asking for that. That’s a huge problem too, the right’s desire to paint all gun control as a denial of basic self-defense and hunting.
Death and violence is not going to end, subject to a total remaking of the world.
Indeed mate - though many places in the world thankfully don’t have as many (or anywhere near the number of) school shootings.
We should focus on making schools safe! For the particular story I’m commenting on, would we rather this domestic dispute happened off campus? Sure, but I don’t think that’s the most important thing that happened her. Nor would I have been more pleased if a car or knife had been used.
This will sound really morbid, but at least if a knife were used, you could take solace in the fact that, if you were a witness, you need only maintain a safe distance of a few feet from the criminal to be pretty much safe. And, you would likely survive even if you were stabbed.
But both are opinions!
If they think that a movie or musician that you think is great is actually bad, you don’t think they’re wrong? Obviously you’d be crazy to say someone is “wrong” if they say they like or dislike something, but if someone says that they think Gigli is a great film, I can say they’re flat-out wrong and still sleep soundly.
That’s an objective fact.
I’m one of the few people brazen and crazy enough to just admit that I think everyone that disagrees with me is wrong. Most people think like that too, they just pretend not to.
I’m shocked that anyone has watched Nacho Libre since it was in theaters. I didn’t realize anyone remembered it.
He’s my favorite kind of guy: smart, hot, and dahmaged.
I predict more spam appearing on here soon - only to be taken down soon after…
Just because you don’t like the content doesn’t mean that the posts shouldn’t be preserved in their original format so that future generations can examine them in their original cultural context.
We could preserve it all at originalspam.com - if that bloody hexagon would get out of the way…
It wouldn’t be the same. It’s like the GOUT all over again.
This forum’s really hit the fan this last week. What the hell is in the water?
Well, without knowing anything about the circumstances, this seems to be the only one of the three that isn’t a direct and ridiculous overreaction to forum drama.
You assume the way in which you would have them react is the correct way to react. If you want them to not react the way they do, calling them ridiculous will likely not be effective.
Well, they were behaving ridiculously. That’s an objective fact.
Without a doubt.
I actually saw Nacho Libre in the theatre and it ruined my life.

I would like to state for the record that I HATE PACKING/MOVING.
I would like to state for the record that I ALSO HATE PACKING/MOVING.
He’ll be back.
I’m screwed.
How so?
My teacher is going to eat me alive. I hate her and she hates me so she’s going to do everything she possibly can to fuck my life.
I had a really bad experience with a mean teacher that hated me and constantly insulted me in high school. Sure, I may have been a delinquent on the verge of expulsion, but I still had feelings.
You take everything on this forum way too seriously.
maybe, but maybe some don’t take it seriously enough.
Nope.
This.
Case in point.
What case?
