You mean the wonderful RROD? You can say it. M$ won't hunt you down for mentioning it. ;)
Yes. I didn't use the term in case someone didn't know what it meant.
^ I guess not. :P
It's the working one.
And other one broke because of a common manufacturing defect.
Attention: Due to failure to pay, my Xbox 360 + seven games bundle has been relisted. The price is still fairly low, so get bidding!!! :D

Use TMPGEnc to encode, and Imgburn to burn.
Also, use Plextor or Lite-On burners.
And DVD-R (not +R) for maximum compatibility.
When are we going to get to see the finished product (combined captures)?

Three questions, which may have been answered at some point:
1. What resolution is cleanup being performed in?
actually it's in higher than 1080p, but then the final
results will be downsampled to 1080p, thus preserving
the most detail until the end.
That's what I was hoping for. :)
Going by the opening & ending shots, this project has gone from "promising" to "extremely promising". I can't declare "perfect", as the shots are compressed web videos on a not-perfectly-calibrated monitor, but I am quite excited none-the-less!

Three questions, which may have been answered at some point:

2. What will the source of the sound be?
3. At some point before the ACTUAL release, might you release at least ONE finished shot?
That's all from me until the next MAJOR news release...
All my stuff's sold, but feel free to use this thread for your own stuff...or whatever.
Final bump!
Bump.

There should be a videophile label akin to Analogue Productions, Audio Fidelity, and MFSL for audiophiles that obtains the rights to make a 007: Technicolor Theatrical Editions box set. There is not one of these classics that I enjoy more on Blu than LD.
Well, The Criterion Collection is considered to be near perfect with their transfers. They use the best elements, the best scanners, the least destructive cleanup, and do their research to make sure things look right. Check out this comparison for Spartacus - which one looks more like FILM?:

They were the first ones to release Bond films in widescreen, on laserdisc. But they haven't done any Bond since. It might have something to do with the producers not liking the commentary tracks that were used.

If you are buying?
Me no drinky.
Bump!
Y'all a little tipsy tonight? ;P
Bump.
I don't like US sellers who only ship to the US (it's easy & cheap to ship to Canada, y'know), and I hate cheap knockoffs that are presented in a way meant to fool you that they're authentic (there's a LOT of this). Otherwise I love eBay. They have EVERYTHING, and I use advanced search a lot in case somebody listed out-of-category!
Cape Fear (1961)
Starring Gregory Peck & Robert Mitchum
Thriller about a lawyer's family being stalked by a revenge-seeking ex-con. Pretty good.

Feel free to post your own stuff. (Star Wars stuff should go in the Memorabilia forum, though.)
Still, the contrast (intensity) in the shots seems a bit low.

if you're new to all of this, and want
to see samples, and examples of
pics/videos, there won't be many

Aw, that's the best part. And I've already seen most of what's already been made available... :(
Standard restoration of any film includes colour correction, de-warping, stablization, and dirt/scratch removal. Anything beyond that is usually not necessary and can lead to an artificial look. This includes grain removal, sharpening, and rotoscoping (altering/erasing parts of the film's content).

as i mentioned, its someone that

Ah, so it's Mr. Thief Cobbler himself ;)
If you mean Garrett Gilchrist, last I heard he was busy with his Mark IV project. And I'm not aware of him being an expert in film restoration (reassembly, maybe). He does know people who can restore VIDEO, however...
