Star Wars CD Cover Art Thread
Time
Well, Davis, looks like you're in luck. I found the folder of those covers. The folder is named "RP_Coltrane" for anybody who wants to check to see if they have them (I am guessing they are from the first or second cover torrent).

I can put up a megaupload, yousendit or rapidshare link for these, Davis - so let me know which service to use and whether you want them in a rar file or a zip file. Here is the list:
* Basic 'stars & crawl' covers and labels (OT only)
* Deleted Magic cover and label
* Alternate generic disc labels (OT only)
* MagFan's BOTF and TCW covers and labels
* WookieGroomer Splitscreen Trilogy covers and labels

I myself have done some CD cover art for Star Wars. They were for a fan's music compilation (Symphony for a Saga). I don't have the time to find those, but if I do find them over the next few weeks I'll edit them to be generic covers for the films and post them here. Perhaps we should rename this thread the 'Star Wars CD Cover Art Thread'. It won't be nearly as large as the DVD cover thread - but it would make finding these covers much easier.

Does Anyone Want To Do A Potentially Challenging - But Neat - Star Wars Title Crawl For Me?
Time
I tried doing something like this in Premiere once. It was then that I learnt why people use After Effects and and 3D rendering programs to create crawls I still can't do anything professional-looking, so when I finally need a crawl done I will have to come crawling to someone on the boards to help me out (lame pun intended).

X-Men: the animated series (1992-1997) (Released)
Time
I removed the stuff like *gasps* and *screams* from my caption transcript. Now I've timed the ep until the 3m50s mark. Should I continue? I'm not meaning to take over BSherrod's work, just that I can do this one more quickly than him if need be. BSherrod, I recommend DivXLand Media Subtitler. It's very easy to use (unless you get stuck with some DirectX problems). Do you want to do the first episode or wait and do the 2nd or third?

Star Wars CD Cover Art Thread
Time
I'm not sure of the username but I know there were some CD cover cases posted either in the first cover art torrent or possibly just in the Star Wars DVD cover thread. I think the guy had done a generic set (ie. could be used with any preservation effort or even the retail discs), a set for the splitscreen trilogy and one for Deleted Magic. The generic ones imitated the style of the crawls, with yellow text on a black starry background. They were pretty cool. Have a look in the cover art thread and the torrent and if you can't find 'em within the next few days I'll try and find them on my discs and upload them for you.

24 The Game - Cut Scenes Fan Edit (by daveytod) (Released)
Time
Well I kind of like the splitscreen shots - but depending on how prominently they feature in your movie it might be better to send me some varied shots. I'd like em as pngs or jpgs at highest quality if possible (send em to me at gmail.com, just put my screenname in front). I suppose I'd need maybe 5 or 6 shots.

Also, I did some searching to create a little DVD-ROM section and (apart from reviews, articles, cheats and walkthroughs - none of which matter too much) I found that there are actually 3 official trailers for this game (possibly 4). Now I understand that that might actually be the trailer plus the two tv spots. Here are the times for the 'trailers' so you can let me know (just curious):
* Trailer 1 - 55s
* Trailer 2 - 2m13s
* Trailer 3 - 42s

I'm also curious as to why you included the interviews with members of the cast, but not the interview with one of the game developers. It is 2m11s and can be found for HQ download on this page.

In any case I can pretty much finish my cover when you've provided me with some screenshots.

Oh, I completely agree. After all I started doing covers for this forum by making alternate covers for CBB's work. In regards to that actually: I have a few unfinished CBB covers that I'll get around to when I have some free time from uni.

Daveytod:
At the moment I am struggling to get my isolated score track for the Ghostbusters project completed, but I am nearly finished the 24 cover. It is quite different to boon23's - featuring different images and layout. I was kind of hoping you could provide some menu screenshots and or screencaps from the movie that I could include on the back? If not I have some that I can use - although they won't be in chronological order as I have yet to see this disc (want to though).

Quick Question: Aspect Ratios & Resizing
Time
Yes, the footage has square pixels. The footage comes from a handheld digital still camera. It is from Sony's DCP range and as such features MPEG recording limited in length only by the capacity of the memory stick. Is there any way to tell if Sony's MPEG files were created in accordance with the ITU standard? If so I will resize to 702x576 - if not then I'll take the 720 road.

Thanks for the quick reply and pointing out that AR calculator.

Quick Question: Aspect Ratios & Resizing
Time
Hello.

I am working on a video that requires me to convert 640x480 video to PAL DVD format. I was just wondering if somebody could confirm for me my suspicions that resizing to 720x576 would be stretching the video. I believe that to retain the correct aspect ratio I need to resize to 704x576 which would leave narrow black bars on the sides. Is this correct? If so, that would mean that in Premiere I would scale the height to 120% and the width to 110%, yes? If I'm way off about this please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Firefly Pilot & Halloween II! in HD (Released)
Time
Well according to tvweek.com it has been remastered in 1080 as opposed to upscaled.

Now the series is being made available in HD. Twentieth Century Fox Television has remastered the show’s 35mm print to 1080i high definition for a Sept. 24 debut on UHD, a network spokesperson confirmed.br> The unveiling of a widescreen HD version format of a short-lived 2002 series is as unusual as the program’s resurrection as a cult hit and theatrical movie. Typically a series is either shot in widescreen high definition and broadcast that way, or shot on video or film in standard 4:3 aspect ratio.

But "Firefly" was shot on film (which can be converted to HD) and in widescreen, two years before Fox started broadcasting HD programming.

This is great. Now to find someone who likes usenet and likes Firefly....

Now I just need to find out if Halloween II is going to be a remastered version or upscaled from the DVD.

Extracting cutscenes and gameplay action from PC game.
Time
Lately several people on the boards have been working on gameplay/cutscene discs. There's daveytod's 'Battlefront: Journal of the 501st', MoveAlong and galactus are putting together a 'Bounty Hunter' disc and finally there is Kaal-Jhyy's 'Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II' disc. That one has been around for a while and I have this disc. I can say it's extremely well done and while it is not an edited-together movie, it does have all the cutscenes (including alternates) plus related extras. I highly recommend finding someone to trade with for it.
