Help Wanted: A request from babyhum: 'Ultimate Sci Fi Top 10' on UK TV
Time
I have all 12 of baby hum's fine Star Wars releases and they are great. It's a shame that real life/financial issues have stopped baby hum from being able to afford Sky. However, as I know there are many others out there that have enjoyed his fine releases (just check the Official Babyhum Release thread) - it was not out of line at all to ask for someone to capture/record a program for him to be used in a future release. Babyhum, if I had Sky I'd help out, though I'm sure that someone will record them and be able to provide you with copies.

As for boris: I haven't said anything to or about you because I figure it's best to stay out of the way of people like you. But when you call babyhum a freeloader and then continue to do so when other members of the forum (who've been here long enough to realise how much of an asset he is to this forum) explain that babyhum has previously given a lot of projects to us, then I have to stop by and post. Go back to your bloated "anamorphic/non-anamorphic" mathematics in the other thread. Don't slag off people who have shared so much with this forum.

Firefly Pilot & Halloween II! in HD (Released)
Time
The Firefly pilot episode ("Pilot") and Halloween II are going to be screening on Universal HD later today... well that's as close as I can figure it as I am no good with timezone differences. Please those who capture HD material, try and get one/both of these. Thanks in advance!

Anyway, as we all know, Firefly is awesome and would be even better in HD. Plus, of course, all you Myers fans know that Halloween II is the Halloween film treated the worst when it comes to DVD releases: even Halloween III has received a better transfer and some special features.

I would hope that somebody here can cap both of these. If not, then perhaps the TS files will make their way onto the newsgroups and then they can either be uploaded to one of the HD torrent sites and/or someone like dark_jedi could transfer them to DVD.

Preserving the...<em>cringe</em>...Star Wars Holiday Special (Released)
Time
I'm a big Weird Al fan and just recently grabbed the latest leaked music video from one of the big torrent sites. Just letting SKot (and anybody else interested) know: the music video for "White and Nerdy" features Weird Al suspiciously paying off someone, as if for drugs, and then he opens a paper bag which contains a bootleg VHS of the Star Wars Holiday Special. I plan on buying the CD/DVD of Al's new album when it comes out very soon, so perhaps I can rip and upload the video for you (maybe even just that short bit).

I'm not linking to the video due to forum rules, but search for "weird al" around the torrent sites and check it out (it was on YouTube but got pulled).

The uncut extended version of Superman IV. Supposedly there is a much longer cut that is better than the final, but the footage hasn't seen the light of day since one or two showings around the time the movie was released. I think I've heard that this version is lost and won't make it to the big Superman boxset due out in November, but I hope thats wrong.

Well, all the scenes from that cut will be on November's release, but not IN the movie. They'll be bonus material. But they will be remastered and in Anamorphic Widescreen, so a fan edit should surface very quickly.

It seems like the DVD might have a 'branching' feature to watch Superman IV with the scenes placed in at the appropriate places, see this DVD feature list.

Dawn Of The Dead Ultimate Edition Volume 2-UPDATE Discs 1-4 (Released)
Time
Well, it's great having these hi-res versions of the Machete Head zombie. However, I was wondering if anyone here is good at vector stuff. I want to make the Machete Head zombie look like the iconic half-head zombie from the official Ultimate Edition cover. I've made a quick mock-up of what I mean. I can make a dedicated attempt sometime in the near future but I'd like for someone else to do it if anyone here is any good at it because chances are you'll be better than me.

Anyway... please excuse the horrendous colors that make him look... well, like this:

Army of Darkness - The Primitive Screwhead Edition (Released)
Time
I own the MGM disc that is basically the Director's Cut plus one little scene extension. I also own the Australian disc (sometimes referred to as the European Cut). The version I want to see is the Director's Cut version with the music added. Ever since I tracked down copies of the Evil Dead I-III soundtracks I've loved the music (this was before I'd even seen the films). So for me, that piece has to go back in.

Sure.

Would I be able to get that info too? I used to have a slew of ROM-specific tutorial pages about extraction and everything else - however I recently lost all of my bookmarks/favorites from Firefox. 2 years worth of very unique pages all lost.

Nope. I am waiting on a scan of the LD cover and there's now also this possibility....

If anyone is interested, I have an 8" x 12" print of the cover artwork from Scream Greats. It has Tom Savini's signature in silver directly under the machete-head zombie - but there are no other writing or words on the print.

I am interested. I'm sure Ash595 would like a copy to make a cover out of, plus I'd like to get as many different hi-res versions of the machete-head zombie as possible. See above comment.
