A lot of Melbourne actually guys do say sinny-matographer.
You live in Melbourne? Cool. I didn't know that such a highly respected member of the forum was from Australia. I live in the Blue Mountains.

Star Wars Logo Designer
Time
Hello everyone. I thought this post should be in this subforum due to all the custom cover and custom crawl stuff residing in here.

I just wanted to share this link that I stumbled across accidentally (looking for vector files of title treatments for Disney films - anybody want to help me out?) that is a short piece by the designer of the iconic "Star Wars" logo. It was an interesting little read and you can find it right here: Star Wars Logo Designer.

Wanted: Isolated Score for the Prequels
Time
The prequels contain a lot of tracked music. This means that although all the music Williams composed for these films was never released it may be possible to construct isolated score tracks. The Episode I "Ultimate Edition" soundtrack is comprised of 2 CDs that feature basically an isolated score cut into audio tracks. Someone who has that soundtrack and the ability to do some decent sound editing should be able to put together an Isolated Score for Episode I quite easily. The other two might be quite hard if not impossible.

Help: looking for... documentaries for Poltergeist
Time
If I remember correctly Ash595 has a short featurette, which might be sourced from the laserdisc. In any case it would be great to see the Deluxe LD's content and the E! THS special compiled onto a nice bonus disc for Poltergeist.

EDIT:
However, there is a Special Edition 2-Disc DVD set planned for its 25th anniversary next year. Unfortunately there's no word on extras yet.

Info Wanted: Has a HD version of "The Secret of My Success" aired?
Time

Hey all!

Quite simply, I was just wondering if there have been any screenings of this great film in high-def at all. I’m not sure if there’s some website that I can go to for details on this sort of thing, so I’m asking here.

I bought the film on DVD today in a bargain bin. The fact that it’s an early DVD plus the fact that it’s a letterboxed 1.85:1 transfer - as opposed to an anamorphic one - means that the picture quality leaves a lot to be desired. I have the R4 PAL version and so I feel sorry for anyone in the US who likes this film and is stuck with the NTSC non-anamorphic version which probably looks even worse.

Don’t get me wrong, I am still glad that I was able to pick this gem up (for a bargain price no less) but I am hoping that a high definition transfer may have snuck onto TV at some point. If so, I would love to get my hands on the TS files (assuming it was captured and released via the newsgroups).

If anyone could enlighten me with some concrete evidence either way, that would be great. Thanks.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
As Adywan says; any ROTJ edit that he might attempt is a long way off. However, looking over this thread again at all the small fixes you've made (or are planning to make) and the newly posted color correction shots... I can't wait for this. I know it sounds cliche but that's how I feel. I think it's great that there's still a great deal of effort going into fan edits/reworks/overhauls of the OT Star Wars films even with all the different versions out there already. Keep up the great work - I'm looking forward to downloading a test sequence.

Wanted: Scrubs Best Buy Bonus Disc Preservations - for a custom DVD edit
Time
Living in Australia I find myself annoyed whenever there's a cool Best Buy bonus disc with new release DVDs. Sometimes that content makes its way over here but those are rare occasions. I own the first 3 seasons of Scrubs and Australia got shafted in terms of extras on season 3 - the official US set had more extras included than we got and that's disregarding any exclusive BB bonus disc. Anyway, I would love to get my hands on a number of Best Buy bonus discs; Scrubs and Seinfeld being at the top of the list. So, if this is allowed - I mean, are we allowed to share copies of out-of-print freebie discs? - then I would love to get copies of them.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
I too recall this image. I think I might have seen it in one of the Episode III related books in my local bookshop ("Art of", "Visual Dictionary", etc). It could be a cool idea to implement to tie the two trilogies together, but it all depends on personal preference of the viewer. However, now that it's been brought up I would like to see someone tackle the idea to at least see if it's possible.

Star Wars Read-Alongs and other exciting audio stuff.........
Time
I recently picked up a dozen or so read-along tapes from a secondhand shop for $2. Although the majority of them are Disney (including a couple of Aladdin ones), there was a Star Wars one in there too. It appears to be the "Star Wars: A New Hope - Read-Along" from 1997. It gives the following info on the cassette's faces:

Read-Along produced by Randy Thornton
Narrated by Chuck Riley
Music by John Williams
Walt Disney Records
Copyright 1997

So, my question is; is this special in anyway? I'm sure there's already been a high-quality LP rip of this read-along, but if not this tape is in great condition. Please let me know if it can prove useful to anyone in any way.

Info: What Has Changed? the 2006 OT DVD release...
Time
An excellent idea. I had a similar thought when browsing the "what has changed?" images; "Somebody should do a comparison DVD". Very cool. I can't think of description changes at the moment, however I would certainly read up on all the recent audio-related posts (especially Belbucus') to get studied up for audio mix stuff.

Look forward to seeing this progress.

Child's Play - in widescreen from Monsters HD? A preservation? (Released)
Time
The R2 and R4 DVDs did get Child's Play in OAR - but they are non-anamorphic and pretty crappy quality. I'm looking forward to a better looking version of the film. However, I can greatly appreciate that those of you in the states, that have been stuck with a pan & scan transfer, are really looking forward to a widescreen version of the film. Dark_jedi, will your conversion be anamorphic?
