Info: 2006 GOUT DVD using 'Faces' PCM Sound?
Time
Wow, Belbucus. Synching all of the different audio tracks for Star Wars itself was such a great thing to do. But doing a new isolated score track from scratch that's synched to the GOUT? That's so awesome of you. Thanks again for all these tracks. I have them all sitting here on my external hard drive (waiting for me to track down an NTSC set of the GOUT as my previous win for the trilogy fell through due to a shonky ebayer).

I will have to wait for some filefactory-type links from some kind soul before I can hear this isolated score, but I am curious. Did you use just the 2CD soundtracks as your source? Also, for cues that were not used in the film but presented on the discs did you reinsert these? Finally, do you intend to do similar tracks for Empire & Jedi?

Also, I was wondering if it would be at all worth it sending mallanikkelsen's MP3 of the "Descriptive Audio" for Star Wars your way? I know an MP3 is a horrible source to work from but in the case of the descriptive audio this is the best that's been found so far (and it would be cool to sync it up to the film even as a DD2.0 192kbps track).

Idea & Info Wanted: Jaws Documentaries
Time
So you have all of the following:
* In the Teeth of Jaws (UK BBC Documentary)
* Page To Screen: Jaws (US Bravo Documentary)
* New England: Our Way (Rare US 1974 Documentary)
* Jaws: The E! True Hollywood Story

I have yet to pick up the 30th anniversary edition of Jaws - are any of the above included in that commercial release (ie. meaning they won't be included in your set)?

Info: Batman (1989) HD

Oh I believe you there. It'll be a while before I get into HD-DVD/Blu-ray though. I live in Australia so there's nothing here for another month or two at the earliest. Then there's the whole "format war" deal. Finally I couldn't really afford the hardware at this point. So I relish watching HDTV stuff as that's the best I'm going to see for a while (disregarding DVDs that upscale well).

** The OCPMovie News & Releases Megathread **

OCP, I have a collection of the Star Wars matte paintings but the Falcon ones I have don't seem to match your description. This one is the closest I have I think....

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/6331/falcon3rsc5.jpg

Of course they're in higher resolution, I just shrunk and resized for preview. I can upload thumbnails of the other Falcon matte paintings if need be. Surely I'm not the only one with this matte painting collection, though. Somebody help out.

Info: 2006 GOUT DVD using 'Faces' PCM Sound?
Time
The delay thing doesn't bother me so much. I mean, can't I open the wav files I have and add the delay myself? I guess I just don't want to have to download the 1977 stereo and the 1993 Defcol mixes again. I haven't got ESB or ROTJ yet.

But then I suppose it doesn't matter. If it helps other people then that's good.
Any suggestions on which program to use to simply add 1.017 seconds of silence at the start of the ANH mixes?

Darth Mallwalker provided me with some Filefactory links for 'Belbucus' '77 Dolby Stereo synced to GOUT' for those of us without newsgroup access. There are 3 RAR files that contain a single WAV file (the 3 RAR files being part of a series).

Here are the links:
DS48_DVD.part1.rar
DS48_DVD.part2.rar
DS48_DVD.part3.rar

I've downloaded it and am very grateful. It's nice to see my Star Wars audio mix collection grow. Thank you Belbucus for synching all these various tracks to the GOUT, and to Mallwalker and boba feta for uploading/providing links.

Help Wanted: Star Wars films with audio description. Can anyone help out??
Time
Glad to see you're still with us.

It's a shame that you don't have the OT versions of Episodes 5 & 6 or the SE of Episode 4. I suppose it's a different narrator for the SE tracks than the one used for the OT track? If me bumping this thread means that more people will become interested and help you in your quest perhaps these tracks and the VHS version of Episode 1 can be found for you.

It's a shame that Episodes 2 & 3 weren't released on home video with the AD audio tracks. Were tracks for these two films created? I suppose to show theatrically? It's also a shame that WGBH hasn't responded to you at all.

By the way, I've sent you a PM.

Info: Hold onto your old Little Mermaid discs!
Time
Darth_Evil:
While I can see your point, in the case of the audio there is a definite issue. The new Platinum Edition of THe Little Mermaid features only a DEHT (Disney Enhanced Home Theatre) Mix and not the original audio from the theatrical release. That audio is however located on one of the Laserdiscs. Multiple reviewers and DVD enthusiasts on forums and websites have commented, upon comparison, that the original audio sounds much better than the DEHT mix. The filters applied to the new mix destroy the quality of the sound somewhat, especially during the musical numbers. Of course the "bigger picture" issue is that Disney didn't include the original theatrical audio, when they have done so on almost all previous Platinum Edition releases. While that may sound like another "matter of principle" issue, it adds insult to injury because the DEHT mix is inferior to the theatrical audio which was readily available for Disney to include.

Oops. I kind of rambled on didn't I? Oh well, I hope I've explained the sound issue. You can check these two reviews and their comments sections to see what I'm talking about: Home Theater Forum and DVDTimes.

Mallanikkelsen, are you still with us?

I was digging through some old posts and remembered your quest for AD audio for the Star Wars films. Living in Australia there are occasionally AD tracks on our DVDs (ported over from the UK release usually) and I have come to enjoy listening to them if only out of curiosity. Did you ever find any of the tracks, I think you found ANH and were looking to be getting the SE versions of ESB and ROTJ? I would love to hear these if you're still around.

Info: Auto-correction from SE colours to GOUT colours (lots of information)
Time
DarthEditous, I've become intrigued by the Photo Popup link you posted. I've tracked down this tutorial here. I was wondering if you would know how to use the image segmentation program? I downloaded the source code but can't compile it. Since I can't compile it I can't create a superpixel image and thus am unable to create one of these pseudo-3d pop-ups. If you are using that segmentation program at all could you please help me out?

I know this should be a PM but I can't seem to send one at the moment.
