Took a stab at these last night in Adobe premier and this was the closest I could come to what you had but using the video

I think the sand or tan color is much better than the original crazy orange

personally I would add some darkness to the midtones to kind of hide the lower res of the video more and make detail better in clothing. Here are the settings I like

Question for you. How are you getting the screen shot you did in photoshop so high-res ? is that using photoshop nueral filters? or some other AI tool? that is insanely sharp and clear (Luke’s hair etc), not sure if the video can be like that unless you did for every frame and it was consistant for what it does (AI seems to vary and it shows in video alot)

if you have the video already cleaned up from scratches and dust, I could run it through the filters I used if you want. I ad some of this cleaned a while back and then had a hard drive failure and never recovered the frames so I would have to go through again and rather not if you already have it done and just need color grade? LMK if I can help

I also have this scene done for full clean audio (I may put a slight music track behind not sure yet). Also have the scenes consistant as far as color cause it jump from orange to sand color alot and a few other editing tweaks

Just want to say great job on your deleted scenes so far. I use your Luke builds sabre for my Return of the Jedi. Best restoration of this out there so far. Only tweaks I made was that I made Luke’s sabre a little more green around the core and made softer + added Luke saying “were ready” to R2 to make them have more of an interaction to to go with the radio drama more. If you make any updates, looking forward to it. Looks like you might be making 3PO look better which would be a nice add

Did not have time to do a shot list yet, but here are complete edits so far for my intro

• Paramount peak/logo transition at the start added back in to be consistent with the franchise
• Fixed audio sync issues and old Harrison voice in some spots so it’s not an 80 year old voice with a ~45 year old Indy as well as mouth not moving in some spots at the end when out of river
• “1944, France” title added to intro to be consistent with every other Indy start. Also adding in “New York, 1969” since the movie is literally moving to this time (for the intro) and it was done this way for Crusade.
• Removed 5 sec of extra hanging in the noose (still hangs for 3:45)
• Added all german subtitles for the entire intro (fixed timing on many to match lips)
• Edited the shot of Indy after he punches the driver of the car, so the shot of Voller looking at his briefcase, spaces out the scene so Indy would have time (off screen) before the officers come into the car to kick the body under the car or out of the way before the officers walk right up to the car and back door, not seeing any body on the ground.
• Fixed train run slightly slower and so cuts short before his super mario bros jump which is the fakest part of that shot.
• Fixed two frames where voller get hit by the swinging hollow water pipe. Hits more of his hair and top of head than straight on making it more beliable he was simply knocked of and injured but not really defaced. Most think this was a stationary pipes, but it does try to swing back at the end just slightly.
• Removed scene on the subway with sad indy and instead it jumps to him on the street walking with slight indy music going right to the college classroom scene. I may actually add the New York date here and have that be the opening “Back to civilation” intro scene just like all the other Indy films other than Temple. This way we don’t see Grumpy Indy until the dive boat. We will get the Marion story later anyways.
• I jumped ahead to the Tuk Tuk scene even though I have more editing as that had a full minute taken out of shots where we see almost duplicate chase scenes that did not advance things forward.

I have plans for V3 but the scenes are small editions that probably are not critical. V2 I think is a pretty comprehensive cut, that many Indy fans will enjoy.

I did not mean anything too fancy, basically something that draws your eyes to the action immediately. Either way, it is your edit of course and I totally understand your vision to keep it visually close to the original movie.

(Coincidently I found the exact same image online you used for the SD).

This looks great! Can I make a small suggestion for the binoculars shot? The Tantive and SD probably would be covered in atmospheric haze. Perhaps making these elements a bit more translucent and blended into the sky, it would look more like a shot from space. Perhaps even a HUD element that tracks the ships in the binoculars? Minor things, of course as I can only imagine the immense amount of work it took to clean these shots.

Thanks for the feedback. There is some added haze or colorization, but maybe I can look at that on pass 2 (version 2).I probably would not add tracking HUD graphics tot he Binocs as trying to keep it more 1977 style, simple HUD etc. But interesting idea. Thanks again for your feedback

With regards to upscaling the behind-the-scenes, B-Roll, plus alternate & deleted footage, it’s definitely possible to get decent-quality videos from the source material, and retain as much original footage as possible.

Some examples: on the top are screen-shots from your v1.6 Raiders edit, along with upscales that I have done (upscales only – no colour correction has been applied):

wow these are great!. The Upscaler I use (Hitpaw) is ok for clean shots but these B rolls I think it struggles. Even with AI enhancement it still is not this good. Are you using Topaz? or something more robust? This is fantastic!

Can you share the files upscaled so I can color match align and crop to aspect ratio as replacements? would be great to have these as better quality. I have some B roll for ANH that could also benefit from a boost…working on ANH up to fight int the cantina (3 more days) than was planning to jump back to raiders and try hammer out the 2.0 in the next 30 days after that.

Working on V1 (or V.3 technically 😃 for those that want 1/3 of it early.

Early to be EOM (prob 6/1 now – so I have the weekend and since we have a U.S. holiday coming that I will not be near a computer on).
This early .3 version will be from the very start up to (but not including yet), where “Garouf Lafoe”, the 1st informant, leaves the bar inside to tattle on our heros. This will include all the anchorhead scenes that proceed up to this point.
