After jonh’s awesome upgrade, I’m even more inclined to remove “I’m all the Jedi.” He has made it so we can show instead of tell. And as Dom and SWOTFAN25 have now convinced me, the boss battle with lightsabers is the antithesis of Jedi ideals, and her terrible, parroted line back to Palpatine compounds this error.
I would remove it! is that it is a complete copy to Avengers, only missing thanos hahaha
jonh thanks for the explanation. It’s still a vast improvement because the banding won’t be noticeable to most people. But just to double check, you did use gradient ramp scatter at a higher setting something like 75% and exported at 16 bits per channel, correct?
I have tried to export in prores 444, and it seems that there are less bands!

Since the Mustafar stuff is such short scenes anyway, could that Coruscant concept art somehow be used to replace the mustafar scenery? So after staring at the Jedi temple from that cool ass mothership and possiblly communing with the broken vader mask, we get a shot of Kylo walking into the temple, it’s in ruins of course, and find the wayfinder there.
If so, it would be, along with making Ajin Kloss into Naboo, a great way to give the worldbuilding of the prequels an actual presence and help further establish the idea that this film is an ending to the previous 8 movies, not just the previous 5.
That was my one of biggest issues with TRoS, after JJ talked about it being an ending to the whole saga, to everything that came before, there was almost nothing in the film that recognisably tied it to the PT. No Anakin ghost (fixed thanks to jonh, amazing work btw), no recognisable PT planets, the only thing we got was the blink and you miss it communing with the jedi scene where I couldn’t hear who was talking to Rey in the theater.

Jonh I love it and will incorporate it into my edit!!! Thank you!!! I did notice some significant gradient banding in the first few vfx shots of the force ghosts with lightning. The same banding is not present in the final three vfx shots of the ghosts. Depending on the tools/plugins used, I know sometimes banding can be the end result, especially in Premiere and After Effects. If there is a way to reduce the banding I’ll wait for an update, otherwise I’ll use this.

yeah, it was generated because the background of the close-ups, are extracted from the Rey shot, very rescaled, I applied blur, but they are generated, banding 😓
the good thing is that it is very dark and if you do not stop it, it is hardly appreciated

I’ll take they’re not the definitive versions as the audio is out of sync in the last part. But in the visual department, they’re virtually flawless.

That’s looks very good amigo! what if it could be implied that Luke threw her the second saber? Maybe having his hand raise before she catches it. I also wonder if the last close up shot of the ghosts could be Anakin instead of Luke, implying that he delivers the final blow, him being the chosen one and all that.
I would leave it at that, after all, luke has more prominence in the trilogy.

So I am going to write this down one more time… It got over looked probably because I rarely offer any suggestions, but I thought this idea of mine was pretty solid regarding moving the chess scene.
The idea of moving the chess scene is awesome and its wonderfully executed! I do have an idea… I think it would be great if there is a way to add a clip with R2 and 3PO watching the game. They are the only constant in the saga so they should be there in the end with their friends. Below is a scene from AOTC where 3PO tells R2, “for a mechanic you do a excessive amount of thinking.” There is enough dialog from 3PO to make him say, “For a Wookie you do a excessive amount of thinking.” Then you can do a cut to R2 doing a silly chirping noise like the link below. In that way they’re all together and all four of them are giving Chewie a hard time. Just like a bunch of siblings.
My thoughts are you see Chewie thinking then it cuts to 3PO and he says his line, then cut to R2 making a silly chirp noise basically agreeing with 3PO, then we cut to Poe and Fin, then the final scene with Rey and BB-8 Thoughts?

I think the ghost’s just standing there in the background while Rey engages Palpatine’s lightning looks a little weird, maybe you could have them with their hands raised up.
the idea was to insert a shot of the jedi raising the hand, just as king crosses the ligthsaber

Final rendering has started.
I’ll release this the way it is now. I see there are more and more cool ideas about TROS around here. I love what snooker made for the ending with the Falcon, and I worship jonh for his Force ghosts.
I’ll eventually make a V2 with all those additions.
But now I just want this to be finished. In a couple of days, maybe tomorrow, it will be out. There are some video and audio issues, but I suggest you consider this edit as “some ideas” put here and there.

I do not know if this has been commented, but I still think about the end without dialogue, about eliminating the old woman, (I know that the title of the movie refers to this moment) but in the opening crawl, you could add something like: Now skywalker is synonymous with hope
This edit helps cement the idea that these people are a family now, instead of Rey being completely alone on a desert planet at the end. Her friends are there waiting for her : )
It also helps explain why BB-8 is there, he’s just a curious little friend : )

Here’s a new pass! I downloaded a new 3D model of the falcon and brought it into cinema4D and recreated the flight path. After chatting with snooker, it turns out it’s the same model he’s using. I think his engines look better, though! So we’ll see what options we come up with!
