Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

Haha I didn't mean to be disrespectful. At all. As I was saying, more than money you deserve recognition. The problem is if Disney/Lucasfilm ever find out about this thread they'll either shut the forum down (more probable) or hire you (less likely but well deserved). Sorry if I annoyed you (I tend to get way too excited about stuff I love like SW, Back To The Future, etc. You probably guessed that by reading my previous posts) but your smiley seems to say I didn't. :)

Seriously illegal and would be a great way to get the forum shut down.

That's what I was saying, yet I feel we owe a lot to Harmy, more than Thank Yous and other "my childhood memories came back to life" (speaking of which mine are closer to Marvins' French preservation, which is based on Harmy's 2.1). Of course I'd rather buy an official release if it existed. But it doesn't and I believe any work deserves a salary, or better yet, recognition. And of course Star Wars theatrical preservations have a special status, as there's no legal offer, except for the GOUT which is of awful quality compared to HD, as we all know.

I'm both glad and sad for you that you didn't find a summer job. It'd be legal, I'd be glad to donate at least €10 per film (maybe even topping the price of the official original trilogy Blu-ray  set by a symbolical €1 for the entire trilogy) just to thank you (as it was said countless times) for this gift you're giving to the history of cinema.

Preserving "French" Original Trilogy - ANH V1.0 released - ESB in progress

johnlocke2342, too bad for your father :(

Yeah well it looks like he hates everything I show him. I KNEW he'd love "The Big Bang Theory" as he's really into science (as I am), but he didn't even watch it when I brought it. When he caught it by himself on NRJ12, he loved it and started following it. The same goes with my mom. The only movie I showed her that she liked was "Forrest Gump". There's such a big generation gap between us, and even between them.

Well it's strange because he loves Harrison Ford, Alec Guinness and he recognized Peter Cushing. And Star Wars aside, we love the same "modern era" movies, and he knows more like black and white movies. I liked almost everything he showed me. I thinks he just finds my love for SW ridiculous (I even started entering the Extended Universe with Timothy Zahn sequel trilogy).

I thought the same thing. It's a shame that a few minutes with different footage as Harmy's DeEd v2.1 make it just a bit bigger than a DL-DVD. I am lucky to own a BD-burner and have a few BD-Rs left.

On other things, I tried to introduce my 79 years-old dad to the awesomeness of "La Guerre des Étoiles" (he was "forced" to go see ROTS in a theater back in 2005 and hated it). He kept mocking Luke's looks (kind of the same way one mocks Justin Bieber's), the aliens' looks, Vader's voice, etc. It was horrible and I had to stop the movie right before Leia's "Ils embauchent des nains dans les commandos ?" line. Then I realized it's because he's a "Trekkie". I heard of these Trekkie/Star Wars fans rivalries but didn't believe it since I don't hate Star Trek myself.

Marvins, I hope you don't mind if I used the poster you posted in this thread.

Luke looks like he's high on the "Empire" cover. :p

More seriously, anyone for a cover for Marvins' French preservation of "La Guerre des Étoiles"?

OK, I must admit I was a bit too lazy to properly correct my subs. As I'm stuck at home for another hour, I corrected and enhanced HanDuet's edit.

Here they are. I honestly think they now are of good quality, except for the few times when I couldn't hold all the text on only two lines. Please note that Marvins still hasn't uploaded his version since he's busy uploading his French preservation based on Harmy's DeEd v2.1, which is as important IMO.

Here are my French subs. I gave my translation to Marvins so he mixes our translations, but I don't know what he's doing with them at the moment.

Thanks for the preliminary translation work! I'll wait for you and Marvins to fine-tune the translation and fix a few errors that seem to be present in the current version. For example, I noticed that one or more lines were not translated (i.e., line 6 is still in English). Additionally, it looks like some of the .srt formatting was missed, such as missing spaces in lines 77-85, or the absence of line breaks throughout, causing what looks like two words to be combined.

Let me know when everything's fixed and you're happy with the translation!

Strange, I didn't notice that when checking for mistakes.
