Heres a quote from dvd.ign.com

Andy responds: My understanding is that it's the Special Edition from 1997 with further modifications. The CG that was added in 1997 will be improved, since a few of them were really not that good (Han and Jabba in the dock, for example), and in a rare sign of listening to his fanbase, Han will shoot first again.

I hope there right. With improved CGI and Han shooting first it wil be a version made for me.

Star Wars Pan Scan

There are some rare movies where the fullscreen version is actually better. Examples Dumb and Dumber and Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines (compare the widescreen and fullscreen version of Lokens big arrival) Still Star Wars is not one of these movies. Widescreen.org shows examples of widescreen vs fullscreen for A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Star Wars.com shows examples of Attack of the Clones. The widescreen version is clearly superior. I don't understand why anyone would want only 56% of the movie when you can have it all. Buy widescreen Star Wars.

Not me many of my favorite movies are black and white. King Kong, Its a Wonderful Life, the Munsters (not a movie but one of favorite Television shows I watch constantly. Though I would prefer all of them in color.

I am a guy who remembers when being a Star Wars fan was actually cool. When we weren't seen by the public at large as obsessed geeks who have a love-hate relationship with Star Wars, like the Trekkers seemed to have with Star Trek.

I remember a time when everybody i talked to was a Star Wars fan. They all loved the movies and enjoyed reading Tim Zahn's new novel. The girl I was dating loved watching the movies with me and we where totally blown away at the prospect of the SEs.

Then the SEs came out, and Star Wars fans slowly and surely where replaced by self loathing fanboys who watched the damned movies 10 times and went on and on about how much it sucked to anyone who would listen.

Then came the dark times. The internet. Here fanboys could reach out across cyber-space and bitch, piss moan and groan about how much they hate these movies they've watched 20 or 30 times since 1997. And don't even get me started on the Prequels.

Do I think I'm better than them? Hell yes, because I realize they are still the same movies, only with better effects. I remember what being a fan was like, back when all my friends where jealous because I had the Millenuim Falcon and they didn't.

I miss those times, and I hate every last one of these fanboys for polluting the internet with their hate and rancor. That jealousy is still there, and it's directed at George Lucas. These pathetic losers wish they had the success he does, and they'll do anything they can to try and bring him down to their level.

True I hate bitchy fanboys to but many people on this site are asking for it politly. With some exceptions.

Don't you think Spielberg had a reason why he used black and white to make Schindler's List? Yes, he had color film available. But don't you think that his reasoning and rationale outweigh the availability of technology? Don't you have faith in Spielberg's creative instinct?

No I think that was just stupid. I don't understand why anyone would go for inferior technology. He should have done the movie in color. I probably won't want to watch it. I only saw 10 minutes and it disturbed the hell out of me.
