Didn't sign it myself but I did tell a friend about the website and he signed it. No I don't really care the secret is to not give a rats ass. I agree with some sentiments here I wouldn't mind Lucas releasing the originals. I just arguing against those who think the prequals are inferior to originals or think that Lucas owes them something.

this was indeed posted by jimbo and i dont see why he should have any right to use this forum if he is not going to support our cause!

Basically i want to know what the rest of you think.

First of all I don't hate the original trilogy. I just like the Special Editions more. Also banning someone for having different opinions as you makes you sound like the prick. I am only rude to those who are rude to me. The rats ass line is a bender joke that I found funny. For any discussion to be good it requires individuels like me with an opposing view.

mode, but that is used for cinematography.
24P is not smooth enough for television programs, but it is good for fictional content (for a number of reasons)

If HD video content becomes progressive (like shows news etc.) it would need 60 fps progressive, and that is a waste of tape for
news or TV shows.

I imagine a future broadcast system that would switch between interlaced and progressive
in real time depending on the natue of the content. Like all 24P HD content, and film content being aired in
progressive and then everything else switched to interlaced.
I suspect future TV sets will accept both interlaced and progressive 1080 image.

There are already sets capable of 1080 progressive images. Tosiba released the first model in late 2002. There are now a few models but they are pretty expensive.

Plot holes in the SW saga

Not complete but oporational. Theres no way the rebelion would have survived that battle. If Return of the Jedi was up to the standards of The Empire Strikes Back the ewoks would not have been enough to defet armed clones and there would be a logical explaination of how all those Star Destroyers didn't succed in defeating the rebelion.

3 confirmed changes

1. The Emperor hologram has been replaced by with the correct actor to match with Return of the Jedi

2. The digital Jabba has been replaced with a much better digital Jabba.

3. The lightsaber effects have been corrected.

I can't see how anyone can complain about any of these changes. All three of them should have been made in 1997.

Jimbo, in twenty years you're going to realize how stupid you're sounding right now.

Your the one not listening to reason. The truth is Return of the Jedi is definutly the worst Star Wars movie. Attack of the Clones is the best.

Well, people bashed A New Hope when it first came out and really classics many times are not appreciated in their own time. But even with all that and liking the SE more, you don't want to preserve the originals? What happens if you began to like the OT more in the future? Or if the UE that comes out sucks compared to the '97 SE? Wouldn't you want the SE on DVD if the UE sucked? Why not then the OT if you answered yes to the previous question?

Well first of all the Special Editions are coming out this year. The changes over the 1997 versions will be minor and can't possibly ruin the movies. I am confident in Lucas and his judement so I don't think the Ultimate Editions will suck either. If the Ultimate Editions do suck I will sign the petition but will live watching the SD-DVDs were getting in 2004.

1. The dialogue in the Ani/Padme romance is freaking awful.
2. The actors collectively give bad performances even though they aren't bad actors
3. Natalie Portman's monotone speach is only slightly less annoying/ then it was in TMP but thankfully less frequent
4. Why am I numbering them?
5. CG is used in nearly every shot, including many in which it isn't needed.
6. The CG army at the end looks incredibly fake.
7. Nearly every one liner is painfully unfunny
8. Haden Christiansen is topless in bed and screaming in a bad acting mode *cringes*
9. Jar Jar Binks isn't as funny as he was in TMP, and that says a lot.

Over all I really enjoyed Attack of the Clones but... this crap is hard to ignore.

1. No it wasn't. It was a great story of love vs duty. A romance for the ages.
2. All preformances were great. Especially Natalie Portmans
3. It establishes her character well
4. No idea
5. No it was only used when needed. It was always needed
6. I didn't even know it was CG. The effects were incredibly well done
7. The "good job" gave me a chukkle but I don't think most were ment to be funny. This is Star Wars not Futurama
8. Something for the ladies. I just ignore it
9. He was only in 5 minutes and it finally gave his character purpose

I personally like the Special Editions more. So I can live without the originals. Still even then I would sign if it wasn't for all the prequal bashing. Attack of the Clones is a masterpiece how dare people bash a movie that good.
