I honestly think that George is not a good director. I think ANH is the lowest quality film of the OT, and not because the effects were more dated or anything. I just don't think George can direct. He's got a decent vision, but he needs someone else to bring it out of the actors, out of the sets, and out of the editing. The best movie of the OT is Empire, and that is because of the director. He was able to adjust, to get what he wanted, to get the best take even if it wasn't what he wanted, to allow the characters to evolve.
In my opinion, the best scene in Empire is Han being put into Carbon freeze. Leia yells to him that she loves him, and Han just looks back at her stoicly, and answers with his brief, "I know." That wasn't in the script. That was Harrison being irritated at having to redo the same take so many times, and yet still being in character, being pissy, and ad libbing something Han would actually say, and in doing so, advancing his character so much with just two words. George would never have taken that take and kept it in the movie. He'd have taken a less good one, edited it to something he wanted exactly, and the character of Han would be shallower, and less interesting. Thank God GL didn't direct Empire and Jedi. If he did, Star Wars would never have been as big as it was, I don't think.
You seriously like Return of the Jedi more then A New Hope. A New Hope is a classic masterpeice. Its excellently acted, writen, and directed. Its a classic and it always will be. Return of the Jedi features huge plot holes, walkthrough acting, and its just plain weak in comparison.

Hes like Vader. His head and torso are encased in metal and his limbs are completly mechanical. I can't wait to find out what he looks like without his mask. I want it to be like The Predators reveiling. When the predator took off his mask it was one of my favorite movie moments.

Hopefully, in ep3 he'll be a bad-arse recluse, just with an accent.
Anyway, it's a change I'm ok with. Best of all worlds would be just the OT, but if he wants to sync all 6 together, I'm ok with a voice change.
Boba will be 13 years old in Revenge of the Sith and I don't know how much of a badass he will be

English theater for Governor Bibble, more American for Captain Panaka, primarily American for Queen Amidala, some Asian variant (can't quite put my finger on the country right now) for Queen Jamilla, and Hispanicly influenced English for Corde and Captain Typho. How does that make sense? Or being able to clone whole people, but not Anakin or Luke's hands for them to use? A Death Star can blow up a whole planet, jump to hyperspace like a ship, then take 30 minutes to circle a moon?
Going into hyperspace around a planet would be suicide. Orbiting it in 30 minutes is pretty good gived how many years that would normally take. Each planet has different races and cultures just like Earth. Cloning Lukes had would have taken a long time and have complications. A mechanical hand seems like a much better choice.

Apparently microsofts VC-9 codec will be availble for Blu-Ray. This is good news. It both gives Blu-Ray Microsofts support (though they are not taking sides) and gives its format the advantage. With VC-9 compression Blu-Ray can be truely the master format. While Blu-Ray will still be signifigantly more expensive to make per disc it can actually be cheaper in the end. With 50 gigabits instead of 30 you could fit much more playtime eliminating the need for two discs. This could actually make Blu-Ray cheaper. Still no support for MPEG-4. HD-DVD still might win because of its year head start but my moneys with Blu-Ray at this point.

Until the next format change.
Since I don't have an HD widescreen TV that really doesn't make that much difference to me. What I have is more than adequate. I've been through enough format changes. First from vinyl records to CD and then from VHS to DVD. Either way, I still have stuff on vinyl that will never be released on CD and stuff on VHS that will never be released on DVD. So, I've decided that after DVD I'm not switching to another format and waste all that money to upgrade again. So, in the end I still won't be getting any future releases of Star Wars on any other format. After ROTS hits DVD, that's it for me.
Dumb the difference between DVD and HD-DVD will be greater then VHS and DVD. Personally id rather have 1920 x 1080 pixals then 720 x 480 anyday. But its your loss I guess. I will be buying these DVDs then replacing them with HD-DVD for 2007.

Yeah, well I've said before. This set of DVDs and the DVD for ROTS are my very last Star Wars DVDs that I'm going to buy. He can release 500 million different versions in the next 50 years and I still won't bite. The only exception that I would make is if he released the original versoins on DVD. Those I would buy. As for the rest, bah.
These will be the only DVD set I will buy but come on HD-DVD will be the best.

He stated at Comicon that the reason this release contains no deleted scenes is because he wants to digitally finish them similar to the prequal deleted scenes but with production of Revenge of the Sith did not have time too.

I'd much rather see deleted scenes for all of the films on the DVDs rather than have the money squandered on an insignificant voice change.
Well dude the fact that they are insignifigant is why we are getting them. None of these changes for the 2004 edition are too advanced. Finishing the deleted scenes would be much more complex.

Read page 1. They are already working on an R rated directers Cut. The new cut will be 30 minutes longer and will include alot more gore and profanity plus an entire new subplot. Paul Anderson called this new cut "the real movie" indicated he hates the theatrical cut as much as most critices. I have to say the Fox stop the PG-13 maddness.

Its how I put it before, the feel has changed. The focus is different. Whole scenes are changed. To some, Han Solo was changed in a mere two seconds. There's now things one never thought about thrusted into one's face. There's so much stuff in the background of Bespin, that's all you look at. Heck, I'm still staring there when I watch the OT because of it. The new establishing shots put greater emphasist on otherwise unimportant things. The Jabba scene delays the plot and damages Jabba's character. We see celebration scenes that make it look like the Empire was hated by EVERYONE, with planets that don't even care taking part in the festivities. We have a stupid dance number that doesn't even fit with the film. The Vader shuttle scene in Empire is among my most reviled. The music is interrupted, the tension destroyed, you're sitting there cringing at every hit the Falcon takes, wondering how they'll escape, than suddenly the scene changes. And for what?! Vader landing on the Executor. George is so focused on hammering every point home that even that isn't left to imagination. What's next? A conception scene in ROTS to remove any doubt that Luke is Vader's son? If you think the changes are so diminutive, why were they made? If it changed nothing, what was the point? If I weren't so big on SW, and a fan of the EU, I probably wouldn't care as much. Lucas can do as he pleases, but the SE isn't canon in my book.
I wouldn't mind a good conception scene for Revenge of the Sith.

I disagree. Alien versus Predator was a very good concept. Its a movie filled with good ideas and bad excecution. Paul Anderson blames the films poor reception on studios premature release date and obnocious censorship (it was going to be R until 3 weeks before the release)
