jimbo what do you know about fluff????
lol

ya and you should remember that the peoples reaction to first seeing these movies were to the ORIGINAL VERSIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as I am concerned they are the same movies. Movies that changed the world and enhanced cinema forever. A few added effects are not going to change that. These are the same films that inspired so many. Plus these DVDs rock.

My advice would be getting out of the basement, and joining the real world with the rest of us.

Question about PT to OT continuity

In the PT we are given an explanation about the Force, midiclorians? (or whatever). But in the OT we have a conversation between Ben and Luke, where the force is explained quite differently, at least I think so. (And also, there are numerous reference to the Force as a sort of "religion" which I think implies it relies less on the science of particular micro-thingies, and more on faith, etc).

Are we to understand that everyone can manipulate the force, which is the understanding I fostered from the OT? Or are there only certain people, those with high counts of the "midi..."whatever?

Like I said, this may have been discussed before, sorry if it has.

I personally like to think of the OT version, it seems more Taoist. It makes the force a little more mystical and awe inspiring. Why the need to get all technical?

Talking to the force requires great degree of training and concentration. However some individuels appear to have an easier time of this training then others. Luke was able to do in a matter of months what takes most Jedi years to accomplish. This is because both his parents have high midichlorian account. Throughout the original trilogy this is never explained. I think the midichlorians are a good explaination. It also explains why droids can't use the force. Also the midicholorians are not the force. They are simply how living creatures communicate with the force. The force is still a mysterious energy field not a collection of microorganisms.

Greedo shoots first only by 4 frames 1/6 of a second where as before it was almost 2 seconds. To the human eye they shoot at the same time.

Jimbo, what do you want to do for a living? I'm kinda curious... Are you going to be a pimp, or a KKK member, or a porn flick director? Shoe salesman, maybe?

Probably a newsman for Fox News eh...

Id say a Republican cartoon writer, science fiction novelist, or computer animater.

TPM comes closer than AOTC to this ideal.

AOTC is a boring poorly edited infomercial for merchandise directed by an EXECUTIVE.

AOTC wishes it was a film.

Similarities between Attack of the Clones and The Empire Strikes Back

Both movies involve a love story between the male and female lead

Both movies flash between different charcters in different places

Both movies involve charcters being kidnapped

Both movies have a rather dark ending compared to all the other movies

Yoda rocks in both movies

Attack of the Clones is definutly closest to The Empire Strikes Back then any other movie of the series. In story and feel. The Phantom Menace is closest to Return of the Jedi in look and feel which is why both Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace are the underlings of the series.

I disagree. It looks alot better then when Greedo shot first. Still it was best in its original form.

Quentin Tarantino.

no really. the man is the biggest fanboy on earth. even accounting for all the great Samuel L. Jackson jokes one could imagine (What does Jabba The Hut look like?), it'd still be light years ahead of the last two films. Everyone loves ESB, but the main reason it was so much better than the other movies was due to Lucas not being the sole visionary. Lawrence Kashdan was responsible for how tight the script was, and Irvin Kershner was a wonderful director.

Let Tarantino direct, and get another writer on board to teach GL that sometimes his word shouldn't be the final word.

I think A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back are equal. The Empire Strikes Back is great until it stops. It doesn't end it stops. Return of the Jedi is needed to finish the story and Return of the Jedi is a far inferior movie.50 reason Return of the Jedi sucks

so Lucas still screws up

I don't agree with the change but I do understand why it was made. True that Luke regognizing him is a hole but a minor one.

I wouldn't be so sure about that Jimbo. I think This movies Darkness Quotient comesdown to doing Greivous and the death's of the Jedi's right. Mace Windu's death would kind of lose its edge if it is immediately followed by Jar Jar saying "How wude!" I know that was an extreme example, but think about it. Remember all of Threepio's bad puns during the Geonosis battle? And Kit Fisto's dumb smile? If Lucas can avoid his stupid impluses long enough to make a dark film, then RotS should rock.

And also, we don't know that Padme dies. It would be unlikely because she has to live long enough for Leia to have memories of her.

I belive GL will avoid all those cheesy moments. I still have faith on him, I mean, there are a lot of people working with him, they wouldn't let him take such a bad decision as Jar Jar making fun of Mace Windu's death...

Oh and Jimbo, "Threads" makes "The Day After" look like "Muppets take Manhattam". There is only one movie more disturbing: "Traces of Death 1"

Again Revenge of the Sith will be as serious as possible. Jar Jars role will be even smaller then it was in Attack of the Clones. His role in Attack of the Clones was a huge improvement. In the Phantom Menace most of Jar Jars dialog and behavior served no purpose besides making a few kids laugh. Jar Jars smaller role in Attack of the Clones had ten times as much importance to the Star Wars storyline as his entire long Phantom Menace role. These movies are getting progressively more mature. Also Padme has to die. I don't remember her in A New Hope. Leaving her alive would leave a huge hole not explaining the fate of a very important character. Never saw Threads but The Day After freaked the fuck out of me. Thinking about that movie still sends chills up my spine.

Definutly. Id be seriously pissed off. Thats my favorite part of the series. I love how it sets up a big action scene just for him to get shot. Who can forget Indys I don't have time for this look.
