The Gong Show Movie (scroll down the thread for project info) (Released)
Time
If that is from the 25th anniversary I have that on 2 DVDs. I actually used some of the acts from that airing in my extra's section. DVD is done, I just have to burn a copy and verify that it works. I'll keep you posted.

I also have a DVD of E! True Hollywood Story of the Gong show that I almost put on this DVD as an extra but it would've taken up too much space and I wanted as little compression as possible.

The current DVD also has all of the same deleted scenes. The only things that the current in-print DVD doesn't have that the Criterion one did is the original short film and the commentary.

The deleted scenes on the DVDs do not nearly add up enough to re-construct the workprint. The deleted scenes total about an hour, so re-instating them would make the movie about two and a half hours long. The workprint is four and a half hours.

Wow, Perhaps we could use all of the footage from the DVD and combine it with the workprint, yes there's a quality difference, but it would also be a telltale sign of what was never released.

I have all those too, and i think ive sent that batch (or similar) out in a trade before. Did we trade at some point? (just curious since i cant remember)

One movie ive been looking for on dvd is The Legend of Billie Jean. I got a copy a while back from ebay but unfortunatly it has CRC errors and freezes about half way through.

I can't remember. Here's my website for trading BTW. Do you have a list?

I rented Superfuzz at netflix.com
I haven't watched it yet, but don't expect a crystal clear restore job on this one. I actually prefer watching this movie with some grain etc. Makes me feel like I'm watching it on HBO back in '83 again.

I can't believe anyone else remembers/saw Super Fuzz! That DVD looks suspcious, and the reviews mention its poor VHS-like quality. I have it on VHS, but it didn't even play in one of my players a while back. It seems like one of those flicks with dubious rights issues, and never seems to have gotten a proper (i.e. okay quality) release on any format.

Hopefully, Howard the Duck will see the light of day with some features. It's a cheeseball flick, but it's entertaining, and wonderfully '80's (and classic '80's PG vulgarity). I don't know if Lucas is embarassed to have his name on it, but it's less embarassing than, say, The Phantom Menace.
