I’m sure this has been discussed at some point but let me reiterate. At the end of New Hope Han gets enough money to pay off Jabba the Hut, but in Empire he still has a price on his head. I don’t understand why he didn’t just pay off Jabba first, then meet up with the rebellion on Hoth. Is there a reason for this that I missed?

I’m pretty sure impscum can answer this.

Well unfortunately it is a plot hole in ESB. He could have paid immediately and return to rebellion or never attempt to do it again. As I said many times on this subject, if Han decided to pay Jabba after 3 years, there is no way Jabba would let him live even if he brought a huge pile of money. As crimelord, keeping ones reputation is the most important thing. A guy who fooled him twice in front of his men, has to be made an example of. There is just no other way.

One thing GL did right in the prequels, he saved the Vader reveal for the end. It made a much better ending than any of the prequels before it. I think JJ might have copied him a bit when he saved the Luke reveal in Ep 7 for the end too.

Difference is JJ didn’t make 3 movies and then had Luke appear at the end only to make him look like a complete buffoon.

He managed to do the latter with only one film.

I’d go so far as to say that general feelings about the movie are spoilers, so Vader being in the movie is most definitely a spoiler.

According to that logic, non-spoiler thread is completely useless as there is nothing to discuss.

Speculation is what I think the non spoiler thread is for.

Speculation falls under “general feelings”.

This thread is plummeting faster than a bird hosed down with tar.

That’s what happens with all of my threads. The honeymoon period was over before it started with Measurements Thread. Darth Ignominious and Ranking Pizza have stopped dead, and Diversity had a similar fate. Your Opinion on Me was a misguided attempt gauging popular opinion on me.

Well I think this thread might actually be useful idea so you are improving.

The most important improvement however was that you stopped acting like Frink is your onii-chan.

I didn’t mind TFA looking a little off because it can be explained by progression. But if RO looks more like TFA than OT, that doesn’t make sense.

The few things that we original in TFA just looked unimpressive.

Quoting someone and then posting something completely unrelated in response is much more unimprssive.

I guess you have a point.

I won’t lie visually this looks more interesting than TFA. They seem to be going a little out there in terms of the locals which is always great as the unfamiliar should be a part of every new Star Wars film. The only real concern about the film I have is with the story seeing as how we know how it’s going to end. How they can make it suspenseful like STAR WARS (another movie in which the ending was obvious) is going to be interesting to see.

If a film has to focus on suspense and plot twists then it ends up being a forgettable film. Suspense looses almost all value after initial viewing. The great films rely on character interactions, interesting story points and visually impressive environment. These are the things that make film worth re-watching over and over again.

First, I don’t think I have ever directly stated what I actually do for living …

So when your said you were a “scientist,” you just meant you did science on the amateur back-alley circuit?

I guess I will have to school you too. Scientist is not a job. It refers to any individual who uses the scientific method.

Pretending to be a Japanese scientist is a new thing for kids though I guess. When I was young and we wanted to impress people we just said we had sex with someone or beat someone up.

Since you desperately kept trying with this thing for so long, I will grant you a reply out of pity. You seem to be the only one claiming that thing and childishly trying to show it like I am trying to impress anyone.

First, I don’t think I have ever directly stated what I actually do for living (and where), let alone in a way to impress anyone. Second, you are deluding yourself horribly if you think I would try to impress someone like you.

imperialscum, judging by your behavior, I can tell you with absolute certainty that every single one of us forum regulars is better than you. We’re better than you are now, we’re better than you ever have been, and we’re better than you ever will be. Not because we’re great or anything, but because you are so terrible at everything in every way.

I am very happy for you.
