I would like to bitch that I have to use this thread at the moment because complaining about you breaks the rules of my own thread.

It’s not going to stop the catastrophic six degree rise that will sterilize all life on Earth. We might reach that limit by 2030 at the rate we’re going.

Don’t be stupid. Even if we throw all nuclear weapons we have, we cannot destroy all life on Earth.

That’s what we thought in the late 90s. Climate science has been updated since then, and the future is much more frightening than we realized. At this rate the planet could be warmed by ten degrees by the year 2100.

Yet our government has chosen to silence people rather than mitigate the greatest disaster in 4.5 BILLION YEARS.

Do you understand what it means “all life”?

If memory serves Obi-Wan trained Luke in SW and then Yoda trains him in ESB…if that’s true that could only mean…

It means they did not rehash Obi-Wan from ANH but they did Yoda from ESB. I do not think anyone claims they rehash every single concept. They only rehash most of them.

If the last Jedi is Luke we will defo see an ESB rehash with Luke training Rey ffs!

No doubt Luke will be killed by kylo ren yawn. And Rey will watch him get killed!

So… uh… should Luke not train anyone? Should Rey not become a Jedi? Or are you just trolling?

Luke should definitely train Jedi and Rey should become a Jedi. But not in a rehash way.

Luke is in hiding. Luke being the last of the Jedi. Rey goes find Luke to get trained. By the book rehash of ESB.

To be fair, this rehash was primarily perpetrated by TFA.

Ugh, Barron Trump should not be a target.

That seems like a nice example of modern liberals; hypocrites who preach “tolerance” when things go the way they want, and intolerant, quick to insult and acting like spoiled kids when things do not go the way they want.

If I were to generalize as grossly as you do, I would say that your post was a nice example of modern conservatives. But I’m not like that.

Do not flatter modern conservatives.

If you’re watching the OT and you see Hayden that’s your own fault.

Bad memories will pop up subconsciously and there is no choice about that. While one can choose to not accept the content of those memories, they will pop up either way (provided one has normally functioning brain) and pollute the current experience.

I have a hard time with Rogue One being the very first exposure to Star Wars.

I know someone whose first SW is R1. She didn’t understand anything and doesn’t want to watch the other movies. ANH is still the best way to begin.

That is a good point of course. R1 is a prequel and is supposed to be watched afterwards anyway.

However, I really hated the CG Tarkin. The scenes with CG Tarkin, threw me out of the movie experience.
Unfortunately, he’s an important character and needed to be in the movie.
It sorta felt like a “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” Meets “Star Wars”, mixing Animation/CG with Live Action.

For me, Tarkin was one of the highlights of the film.

In all honesty, the CG of Tarkin is a good effort, but I just wish they didn’t go the CG route.
If there was a way to superimpose old Tarkin footage from Star Wars to match up with the scene.
I know that wouldn’t be perfect either, but they might’ve been able to pull that off a little better.
As long as they kept the scenes short.

Anyways, to each their own.

One this is for sure, CGI is way better than having a new actor (in terms of visual appearance). That never works, especially when it comes to well-established characters. I am pretty sure it will not work for Han Solo.

Well, if by “work” you mean he will not look or sound like Harrison Ford, then you are right. That doesn’t mean it won’t be good though. The worst thing they could have done for that film would have been to have the lead performance be a CGI Han Solo with an HF impersonator. I shiver at the thought of it.

I mean some things are difficult to make. Obviously they cannot do the same for the lead character as they did for Tarkin. But new actor is horrible choice for a character that is basically personified by one particular actor (i.e. Ford). In this case I prefer they do not do it at all (the film I mean).
