While Lucasfilm was once again letting us down at celebration, we were on family vacation hitting up a couple national parks. One of our stops was Death Valley. While it wasn’t the thrust of our trip there, I did take advantage of the chance to see a few of the locations used as parts of Tatooine. Kinda cool that it coincided with the 40th anniversary.

I tried to make it look like we were sand people, rather than just doing black blobs over our faces. But I’m working with the iPad photo markup tool… so…

Below is Golden Canyon, one of the locations used to film the Jawas capturing R2.

Great photos!

And I wouldn’t say they’re giving us the finger so much as ignoring us (there is a difference).

Well the latter is much worse. I would prefer they stated their intentions, whatever they may be.

I’d rather be perpetually blue balled than potentially have my balls cut off outright.

I don’t think that comparison really works…
I’d much rather they just say “We have no plans or interest in an OOT restoration.” so that we can move on to other options.
I just want to hear a straight, honest answer from LFL/Disney. Are they interested? Got something in the works? No interest? No plans? I just want to know where this issue currently sits.

Exactly.

Wait what? He actually altered American Graffiti with CGI? I don’t recall seeing any gungans running around that movie. Looked pretty normal to me.

IIRC, the director’s cut also features extended/alternate/additional scenes not present in the theatrical version. I’ve never watched the theatrical version, though, so I don’t know how correct this is.

Well in this case, the lower is definitely better (more natural in terms of what human eye would capture).

The worst thing about TFA is not that it is a rehash per se. The worst thing is that its sotryline is a complete shit.

In a good plot, elements naturally lead from one to another, are indispensable with respect to each other and (most importantly) all have a strong connection to the plot objective. On the other hand, TFA shitty “plot” is just a combination of random elements completely unrelated to the plot objective (i.e. search for Luke).

Nevertheless, the fact that they put so many unrelated rehash elements into the film played a major role in storyline becoming a disjointed unrelated pile of crap.

Thanks for the rehash yet again. Everyone knows you didn’t get what you wanted for the film and you’re mad about it.

I just wanted bare minimum - a decent storyline with well-structured plot. Unfortunately I did not get it.

Also posting this because it still baffles me how some can see Rey and Finn escaping as being a problem when there were more ships in orbit during the Battle of Hoth that caused Luke no trouble and that’s fine. I really need someone to explain this to me.

Well I have already said this many times when people complained about ground Battle of Endor being unrealistic (in relation to ewoks). Rebel escape from Hoth is by far more unrealistic outcome than rebels and ewoks beating a company sized unit in that particular sector of Endor.

Btw I love that shot in ESB.

(I’m likely making a mistake expressing an unpopular view to OT purists on an OT biased site. Although I think I made a mistake when I registered.)
8.Attack of the CGI
7.The Force Awakens
(Leaps and bounds better)
6.Rogue One
5.Revenge of the Sith
(Here it comes)
4.A New Hope
3.The Phantom Menace
2.Return of the Jedi
1.The Empire Strikes Back

I’m more wondering why you started with your least favorite movie. Generally these lists start at 1.

Generally these lists don’t rank TPM over ANH, so I wouldn’t go looking for logic where none exists.

Well at least he put TFA in the right place.

If anything, if Hayden is in the film and gives us a good performance, that would redeem him in the Star Wars universe.

Really, Hayden is not bad. He delieved the best he could considering the lack of direction of Lucas on Episode II. On Episode III with the coach director to help he gave a very strong performance (and he looks badass). The blame is on Lucas, not on him.

He does not look badass at all. He looks like a whiny jerk. And I do not think it is because of lack of Lucas’ direction, but because Lucas wrote/directed him to be like a whiny jerk.

So, in a number of stories Mara Jade’s hair colour is described as red-gold. What is “red-gold” hair supposed to look like? Strawberry blond? Red with blond highlights? If so, then why don’t any of the drawn depictions of her reflect that? Bright red/dark auburn hair doesn’t scream “red-gold” to me.

It is a stupid term but it could imply very shiny red.
